Windows Ragamuffins

OK. So it has come to my attention that the font on my blog is UGLY as hell on a PC. It is HUGE and whacked out. 54% of you guys come here on those inferior machines and I still love you. So tell me. Who is this affecting? I need data to fix this.
1. What browser are you using?
2. What OS are you using?
3. What is your social security number?

All I really need is the first 2.
Windowmuffins. Your help is appreciated.

Looks fine on Mozilla. Oh wait, do I use Mozilla… Does that make me a loser?

Looks fine here. I use Firefox and my OS is Ubuntu.

ohh… but at work all I have is IE, and it doesn’t look so hot. Font size gets quite large as you scroll down, and the sidebars on the right aren’t able to be viewed side by side. So the sidebar on the far right gets pushed down. However, you should probably wait and see what it looks like in IE 7. I haven’t downloaded it yet, but I hopefully IE becomes starts to implement a decent amount of web standards.

Los, if you ever want to see what your site looks like in another browser, you can go to http://www.browsershots.org and enter your url into there. It takes a while, and sometimes you can’t get every single browser to show up every time, but you can get an idea of what your site looks like to others.

    Firefox, WinXP, 1280 x 1024 = looks just fine
Loaded your page in the new IE and fonts got big, videos disapeared, and it screwed up your sidebars. Yet another quality product from Microsloth.

I’m looking on my wife’s inferior machine right now (someday we’ll be able to upgrade her!) with IE 6.0 and Windows XP. The font looks fine but your picture in the sidebar is is placed right over top of your “about” text.

    Firefox and it looks fine!
Maybe whoever it is needs to get a new computer, screen or just change to apple. I will as soon as this piece of %#$*&@ PC kicks the bucket!

I am running Windows 95 on a computer that I got from my friend’s uncle’s mother inlaw’s terrier.

  21. Albee 22 October 2006 at 8:52 am #

Hey, it is an IE thing…

But just to let you know, you fixed it, it looks right now. The big font thing started about a week ago….

  22. LittleBlueAlien 22 October 2006 at 11:40 am #

Looks ok now. I’m using Explorer and Firefox on The Devil’s XP. I just can’t switch…too much $$ in software. If Mac could develop something that would allow me to just switch my ADOBE software in for Mac stuf…I’d try one on the next go.

    Peace.
    Mike

One Windows XP I normally use Firefox, and it looks fine there, and I’m trying out IE7 and it looks the same as on Firefox. Must be an IE6 problem.

For all the PC haters – I love mine, and I have little problems with it so I don’t know what the heck is your beef. I have no intentions of ever switching to Mac – overpriced and just not universal enough.

    PC level!

Windows XP with IE. I’m having little problems. Sure your picture on the right sidebar covers a few things but oh well.

And I love my XP. Okay, maybe I’m not a cool blogger, I do have a page though…just no one goes there! I don’t do at home movies like LOS and his slimmuffin site, but hay, I can defrag, write word documents, I can even connect to the internet with a cable from my DSL modem. This is why I love my XP.

Since you are all so happy about your Mac’s…what happen to the worm on the Apple Ipods?? Ouch!

  29. pete 23 October 2006 at 9:12 am #

Looks much better! What’d you do?

I use IE ’cause it’s what I’m supposed to use at work — everything’s integrated through Microsoft — BLECH!

I looked past the fact the fonts were screwy because I knew that it was IE’s fault.

Never been a problem with XP and Firefox here. Could be something wrong with my eyes, though.

  31. Dan 23 October 2006 at 11:53 pm #
