Korea Video Update Eleven – The Finale
OK Ragamuffins. The ride had been amazing. This is it.
Just to answer some FAQ’s I’ve been getting…
1.

This whole trip was shot on my Canon Digital Elph SD600. Just your regular kick arse digital camera. Yea. I bought it to take pics but it became the smallest video camera in the world.
2.

I edited these on my 15″ Macbook Pro in iMovie.
3. Boxers
4. Just kidding
5. I only gained one pound. So Booya!!!
6. No. Seriously. Just stop by. Heather loves it and I am not scared to tell you to leave when I’m done with you.
7. Yes his sisters LOVE him.
8. For all you late comers. You can catch up on all 11 episodes by clicking here
One final role call. My stats hit almost 1000 unique IP’s on Monday. And only 33 of those were people searching for images of a “penis” from Google Poland. (Click it. It’s safe.) So I’ll follow suit from my blog brothers. Who has kept up with the Ragamuffin Reality Show? And yes. I mean YOU. Blog stalker and regulars alike. Sign in one last time. Everybody now. Even those proud non commentors. Double3. Dirty Flower. Albee. C’mon. Eveybody. Sign in. I would love to hug you all one at a time. He’s home!!!
Los

I have been following & I have been blessed. I am a high school friend of double3.

Peace to you and your family Los
My wife and I have been keeping up too, so I suppose I should sign in. Seeing this whole thing has really got us thinking seriously about adoption. The last video when you all had to say goodbye to Losiah’s foster family was probably the most human thing I have ever seen on the internet. Got me thinking all about how nothing is free or easy. How doing good can be so hard. It really touched me. I wonder how much of this will stay with him as he grows up–if he will remember it all (in a non-luicid way). Anyway, thanks for posting all of this and doing it in an honest way. It’s really been something…
I had been in and out on your blog, but after dinner w/your dad that weekend & seeing his pride in what you were doing & how dogeared his picture of Losiah was, I really had to start keeping track! I’m so glad you’re home w/him and enjoying your whole family again!
Still here!
C & H, started stalking your blog since Cap’n Jim’s milestone birthday ,(what the heck is a blog???) This has been amazing, thank you guys for sharing with us, in a weird kind of way, it really kept us all connected…loved seeing him and visiting in person…love you guys Sue
Hi Carlos
I was searching for worship leading podcasts about 3 weeks ago and subscribed to your podcast, that’s how I came to your blog. Been following Losiah’s story recently and have very much enjoyed the whole saga. Thanks for sharing this with the world, you and your family are an inspiration.
It’s been an experience, Los!
Peace
J
Right here!!!
I am friends with Derek and Kim (we live in Turkey). When I saw Losiah’s adorable picture on Kim’s blog, I decided to check out your adoption story. I have to admit, I was obsessed with it last week and I don’t even know y’all! But, we are all brothers and sisters, and it blessed me to be able to watch your story. Thanks for letting me! Congratulations!
I’ve been checking your blog everyday since you guys have been gone. This has been one awesome adventure that has only begun!
Hey Ya’ll,
I am friends with Kim & Derek. Weezer (my name for that cute korean) lived with me in India, Spring semester of 2006. It’s funny the way I feel so connected to other people through reading their blogs. I have been following your story and I’ve loved reading it ALL. Last week, I checked over and over, hoping for new post. Your story has been such a blessing to me! Your videos are incredible. THe whole thing made me cry…
Blessings to your sweet family!
Still following and loving watching your family become complete!
I’ve been addicted to your blog for a couple months now-it’s just about the only blog my work does not block, but I have to wait until I get home to see the videos-those ARE blocked. I go to Sandals-been going since we were at VCC. I just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS, and the watching the video with everyone at church was much more emotional that watching it at home by myself.
I was lurking the whole time;)
signing in from Jakarta!
I am Tim, and I am a Raggumuffin Reality Show Addict. I checked in everyhour.
You guys are so awesome. I have been so blessed by your story. My husband and I are inspired. Thanks for sharing.
hey dude, i’ve bin checkin in regularly
signing in!!! your journey has been amazing has been amazing to walk beside of.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13
I really just need to make this my internet start page.
Interesting facts I have learned through this journey…
1.) Korean’s like Pickles
2.) North Korea Built a fake city with loud speakers full of propaganda.
3.) When Heather doesn’t have anything to say, she makes funny faces into the camera.
A praying lurker.
Was here. Don’t act like you didn’t know.
Always.
yea, as you know (due to your handy dandy stat tracker)…i’ve become a “blog stalker” too, it’s kinda embarrassing. oh well, it’s worth it…i’ve been obsessed with this entire adoption story and LOVED every pic, video, post you’ve put up.
o.k., this is probably day 10 or so of crying in front of the computer. when your girls are running to you guys at the airport, that got me. and, i LOVE the family picture at the end. enjoy your new son! and, thank you for sharing all of this with us.
If you were back home in Georgia, I’d drop by and introduce myself.
Congratulations, Los –
Paul J.
Bri, checking in.
p.s. you live for comments!
what can I say, I love reality TV too!
I held back the tears until the last video of you guys saying goodbye to the foster mother. All while watching it, I was saying “when is Heather going to hug the foster mom?”. Then i watched the second video…To see the three of you crying made me realize how long and difficult the journey of just getting your son had really been. Absolutely amazing that your child, a son, was waiting for you on the other side of the world. Losiah has changed the lives of many people already and he’s barely crawling. What an amazing joy and blessing! My heart is happy for the Whittakers! Rejoice!
Here! Dan too
!
i refuse to comment. stat ho. comment ho.
People. Please go comment on Hale-Yeah and Double3′s blogs so they can stop their jealous whining…

Congratulations! We’re so happy for you!

Watched with extreme anticipation all of the videos…made my roommate and friends/whoever was around watch them. Didn’t care if they laughed at me while I cried at the computer.

it’s simply beautiful. i don’t know what else to say. it’s soo goood! God is good, may He bless you and your family as you raise that dear little one.
Hello!
Long story short, I am Kym Mikaelian’s cousin (of Kym and Jack). I followed a link to Heather’s blog via a comment she left on Kym’s blog when it was up and running.
And to add to it being a small world, my neice (McKenzie) is in your daughter’s preschool class with Miss Stalder. We actually saw you the day of the Halloween parade and days later we figured out why you looked so familiar… you married Kym and Jack!
Anyways, I’ve been following your blogs for about 3 weeks now. Words cannot express how touched I was in following your journey to getting Losiah. Your blogs were the first ones I checked everyday for an update, and throughout the day. I even joked with my husband that I wanted to stop by your open house on Saturday and say “Hi, you don’t know me, but I’ve been following you and can I meet Losiah”. LOL. Maybe he’ll accompany you to the preschool Christmas performance and I can meet him in then!
God is amazing. May He continue to bless your family throughout this Christmas season.
In His Love,
Darcy

Lori is here reading over my shoulder and insisting I leave something loving and nice. So, “welcome home, I love you both, lets hang out.”
(Lori) That’s it! I’m taking over! We DO love you, and we ARE glad you’re home, we missed you, and CAN’T wait to hang out with the little dude (and you guys too)! PS…Now that Matt knows (and Justin and Ricardo), that will have to be our last time in bed together! It’s a joke, people…seriously!
…and God Bless and all of the other good things we were suppose to say…
Been keeping up and amazed at it all. So you really took all that video w/ just a little Elph? That’s pretty amazing too. You’d recommend that camera?
I just got a MacBookPro for our youth ministry. Not gotten my feet yet w/ it. Might have a Q or 2 at some point. That be okay?
Your little guy is just beautiful! My Mom has been watching too, from France.

hah ta ta…
We went to Berry together (96C)- thanks for sharing your experience. The videos were amazing!
I feel like I’ve been on a journey… Thanks for bringing us along for the ride, and I pray God’s best for you and your growing family!
We have indeed been watching. And discussing. And thinking. And praying. I am amazed at how you have pulled us into your lives. We feel closer to you than we do to many normal people.
My daughter, Lindsey, told me about your adventure and I have been on the ride for only a short time. I watched your video of the “goodbyes” on Wednesday and cried until I looked like Tammy Fay Bakker and had to quit and go back to work. I also shared your story with my boss. Thanks for sharing your blessings with us! I hope you will continue to post pictures and videos of your beautiful family. Best wishes and God bless you!!
Wat an amazing journey. It has been incredible to watch (and pray). I’m still trying to get me head around the bigness of it and some of the deeper spiritual undertones.
Thanks for taking us all with you.
-Pat

Hi Los, and Family,
Checking in again. You guys are the first click when I check my bloglines every day
Thanks again for taking the time to share your journey with us.
I was so impressed with the performance of the camera you used, I went out and picked one up. Do you record in 640 or 320? I seem to be having trouble uploading stuff to Google, might just be too big of a file.
Much Love,
~Dave
