So she has been gone a little over 12 hours. The living room looks like 14 gremlins have attacked it.
So far the morning has consisted of pancakes, Johnny Depp, Cinderella, and a failed attempt at blogging.
How does she do it?
Los
it’s hard work being a stay at home mom (or dad)! oh, and i’ve had many failed attempts at blogging…it’s hard when you can only hold a train of thought for about 30 seconds due to wiping buns, changing diapers, making meals, etc…ALL with 1 hand because your 7 month old won’t let you put her down for more than 15 minutes.:). the blog entries get shorter and shorter.
Oh yes, failed attempts at blogging, writing, working and laundry are the biggest part of my day. Yesterday, Nicholas “helped” me write a book review by typing every other second… sticking little hands up from the ground to the keyboard. Eventually I just let him and went back and edited when he took his nap. Oh the joys.
I love it. Realization and gratitude at its finest. And don’t cheat like my man did. When I went to a women’s retreat for the weekend, he spent most of the time at grandma’s house so she could help him.
I think God created women with the gift of multi-tasking for this purpose alone–mothering. If we couldn’t do two (or three or four or five) things at once, we would be dead in the water. For instance, right now I am blogging, making brownies for my son’s sleepover tonight, loading the washing machine, feeding my youngest a snack, yelling at my 2 and 4 yo to stop running up and down the hall and making sure everyone else is alive.
All hands on deck, homie. You can do it!
p.s wait until tonight–dinner, cleanup, bathtime, storytime and exhaustion time. Happy parenting!
I’m stumped…I don’t know how your wife does it either!!!! She’s amazing!!!
