I love your approach to this topic. I realize this blog is a little old…but the message is clear. I’m glad God puts certain people in our lives to stir us up. If not, we might never reach all that God has called and prepared for us to accomplish in this lifetime. i’ve been studying other preachers lately…Andy Stanley is just one of them. But what I love about Andy Stanley is that he is so clear, he is passionate and he makes it look so easy. I know it’s all the preparation he puts into his messages but its such a blessing to be challenged by great men of God like him!

I'm the coolest hippest guy I know:-) I love Andy, Rob, Ed, Erwin, and all those guys God has gifted with amazing teaching gifts that change and challenge me. I thank God for them. They make a difference. We can all learn from them. They're critics should be silenced by the fruits they all bear.

I've never heard them say piss, crap, or any other language they think would make them "cool". Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. That's my two cents. Honestly, it really doesn't make you relate any better because you use say those words. I said "shit" in front of my mom when I was 13….Ivory soap tastes like it:-)

hahaha, oh man, I feel for you Los. I know this post is mad old sorry.

My husband (former youth pastor, turned worship leader, turned ?) recieved a scathing phonecall from a parent once for using the word “crap” in his sermon. It concerns me that people can get so distracted by their own preferances for word use and miss the point of the message, or even question the messangers salvation!

Keep up the good work, we are both fans of your site.

p.s. I just realized you changed the blog to “ticked” I guess sometimes we just pick our battles

Several thousand years ago, the term Christian was a term used in a less than flattering way refer to the followers of Christ. People probably were told not to use the word. We obviously don’t use it in the same way now. Linguistics show us that our language is always changing. Try reaching out to street people, you would be surprised how fast you get less hung up on their speech and how excited you get seeing them respond to Christ. Very rough around the edges, but sincere. However you say it, I’m glad the Holy Spirit is speaking to you.

While I find it vulgar to use language that doesn’t imply the difference we are to make in the world, even when that language is used in the KJV, it concerns me more that so much Andy Stanley worship courses through this blog. I am not sure that is his message or intention. Praise God an effective messenger has been raised up, but let’s not lose the message in the glory of the messenger.

I came to this site because I wonder if this young man is the son of Pastor Charles Stanley who is the favorite of myself and many of my friends. I still don’t know but I hope not because I think his heart might hurt to see this choice of language. Do you realize that the word “p___” originally meant the bodily function of elimination? Why in the world would a real Christian choose to use that kind of term to express irritation? My heart hurts to see it on a site that ministers to the unsaved as it sure isn’t consistent with the character of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ nor His Father our dear Creator. Please change it soon, and check if you are really saved…for nothing in the world is as important to you as being certain of that beyond a doubt, and a Christian’s fruit will show what vine it is attached to. I’ll sincerely be praying.
