Free Starbucks

Starbucks across the country will be giving away a free 12 oz or “tall” cup of
coffee next Thursday, March 15th, from 10am to noon.
It won’t come without a price. Expect long lines. Some people report
using up their entire lunch break just waiting for their free coffee
when Starbucks does one of these free national coffee break deals. — BEN POPKEN

Shouldn’t take too long of a line, since it only takes a minute to pour a cup of the Coffee of The Day filtered brew. When I was in NYC this time last year, they were pleading with people to take a free drink, since there were four cafe’s in a one block radius.
I worked at a Starbucks in Chicago during the “coffee break” last year…and it can be really stressfull. For some reason when things are free people loose all regard for patience.
they did this with iced coffee last summer when i lived in manhattan. it seemed like the majority of people took out orders for their entire midtown office. i waited 1.5 hours for a free cup of coffee.
This is akin to the people that when the gas hikes, drive 15 minutes out of their way to wait in an hour line for gas that is .10 cheaper. Congratulations….you just saved $1.20!!!!!
sweeeeeeeet!
I worked for a Starbucks (several actually) in Redding, CA. and whenever people here the free Tall Coffee of the Day, they always expected us to make them free mochas, frappuccinos, and everything because they did not feel like it was well communicated to them that it was only for the specific product. Glad I don’t work for Starbucks any more.
UMMMMM….does anybody else realize that it’s just a cup of coffee? I can get a free cup of coffee when I go to the bank or go to get an oil change. I don’t understand.
What a waste of time (as I sip my hot white chocolate mocha with two pumps of raspberry syrup I just bought with my birthday giftcard–woohoo).
I’m mad at Starbucks right now. I applied for a part time job there about 3 months ago. I’m trying to learn their system so I can write a paper for a masters project. I had 3 or so face to face meetings with the store manager and was left with, “yeah I want you to start just let me talk to the GM.” Nothing since.
So free or not, until the manager calls. No Coffee for you! I have become the coffee nazi.
I got a free frappaccino today! I
Okay, I can’t tell for sure, but I don’t think my above comment posted right. I was trying to give props to my Starbucks baristas. Anyway, the random free fraps keep me coming back!
oh, lovely. next wed. at work will be a wonderful time >(
This is when the mob comes out in Austin Texas. Last time this happened I was waiting for the SWAT team to show up because a lady joined her husband in line and all hell broke a loose.
However, it can be somewhat entertaining just to go into one and sit for an hour and just watch the crazy’s that come in…
