Sandals Sunday Set

With a 14 year old at the helm of the camera, you might want to take some pepto before watching. But it was a good set none the less. No nice post production mix. No overdubs. Just a mic on a camera and lots of people singing. I love it.

I’m always so proud of my band.
CarMax Car Salesman – Bass
UPS Driver – Drums
Photographer – Keys
Starbucks Barrista – Electric Guitar One
Web Graphic Designer – Electric Guitar Two
6th Grade Teacher – Lead Male Vocal
Substitute Teacher – Lead Female Vocal
Student – BGV

Just goes to show that a church running over 2000 can still go the old fashioned route.
Volunteer band. The only payment they get is spending massive amounts of time with me.
Thanks guys for making music with me.
Los

You weren’t kidding about the camerakid!
Someone needs to give them a brief lesson in videography!

Does your congregation sing any traditional hymns?

    hey los,

Awesome set list. I like the fact that you use a variety of different artists, it annoys me when you go into a church, especially a problem here in Australia, and they will only do Hillsong songs.

And that song of yours is awesome by the way, maybe you should put up some chord charts?

i am constantly amazing by our worship team volunteers. none of them are paid… and every one of them is 100% faithful and commited. God’s awesome.

    Great stuff,

So Los, here is a question for you relating to the “rock star” post below. Do you subconsciously take the persona and style of the worhip artist while singing their song.

Example- the Hillsong United song Take It All, you guys kinda “look” like Hillsong united-having the guy with the guitar, bouncing around like United…Kinda funny.

Dude, you guys rock. Props to the volunteers, but, hanging out with you…whew. I’m just about ready to start a Sandals Satellite church here in Fresno, so if you can get a camera man, and a live link for Sunday mornings, I’m down. Talk to Matt about it. Actaully a Video Podcast would be cool too.

    I’m not joking.

Wow, great set! Thanks for posting it up. I think the roller coaster camera work adds a bit of excitement to it all…

CarMax on bass? Cool! I was a CarMax I.T. guy, and now I’m the worship leader! ;-)

the 15 year old camera guy. that was my decision. sorry.

actually i encourage you to all throw some youth kids in the miz sometimes.

belive it or not, this kid makes some great skate videos. i wanted to see what he would do at a worship service. the problem was he hasnt used the DVX-100b and was trying to figure out the settings.

lets do a comparison for next week.

brian, that is an awesome idea…
