Hey I stumbled on this a bit late… but I’ll add… humility in Australian and NZ is pretty important. We have a very different style of communicating than Americans. It’s clear from reading this that most Americans aren’t aware of cultural differences. In our culture talking like some Americans speak would be considered very rude and up yourself. I’m just saying. I can’t believe how unaware people on this are of different fashions and cultures. And how critical.

I have to say something. He is NOT wearing a dress and he is definitely not high. If you look at his other interviews he talks just like he did there. Maybe some people who have commented have never met a person who was actually humble like Joel is. Btw he has surfer hair here and it is awesome!

Those with the he is high on acid or weed comment,i’m sure you are Christians because if you were you wouldn’t be saying such things.The Holy Spirit would convict for that but,pretty sure you do not have the Spirit living in you.You can see he is tired the guy works hard.But must admit that the dress comments are funny.But apart from that NOT FUNNY.

I just want to know why he’s single. Is it by choice or is there no one in his life right now that he feels is right for him or that God has not yet brought that person.

hey shaz ____Joel definitly did project being humble & very down to earth…but what was different here is that he took it "one step further" than anyone else… his body language,, etc changed and he put head down and began to speak softly, almost inaudibly, just for about 20 seconds- about 2/3 of the way through the concert. I wasnt sure what he was communicating so I asked the person I came with and he also interpretted it the same- Joel Houston has his own personal set of struggles behind the cool/awesome exterior. Keep him in your prayers. I dont know what he was refering to specifically…. We all must pray for each other, for the devil wants to sift us, especially worship leaders- like Joel….recall Jesus told this to Peter because he was the one chosen to strnghen his brethren. Joel and other worship leaders- we need to adopt them in prayer- not just dig them for what they do worship and for us. In any case- it made us more respecting of Joel- not less. I witnessed a side to Joel- an unusually introspective side where most of us dont even want to admit to others exists. Luckily, Jesus meets us there.

I saw Joel in concert in Maryland last month. Actually he was wearing a corny plad shirt- you know the kind your mother would make you wear when you were a little boy.

He did seem a little "spacey", tired…thats his personality I think. Im that way naturally too.

My thought:

"Id rather hang out with a spacey Joel Houston than a person with a critical spirit- ANYDAY

I'll tell you what he admitted during the concert:

"Im really nothin special, dont think I am, please"

Ive never heard anyone say that before at any concert.

Joel, you are a broken human being and you need a savior. That puts you in good company Joel:
with about 8 billion of us.

I think Joel Houston is super super HOT!!!!! I am a Christian and totally love hillsong music. The thing about Joel is his passion for God and people. he is an amazing guy and each time i hear him speak he challenges me to be a better person in Christ Jesus. As for his styling …. i think people get so pre occupied with what they look like and want to be at the height of fashion. people need to leave all that stuff behind and just be who they are and focus on loving and serving our Awesome God. I personally like Joel's 'look'. I think the whole laid back surfer look with a hot aussie accent and a wonderful heart are a great combination.

Keep it up Joel, you're amazing

HI PEOPLE! I just want to say that I love Hillsong United, and I love Joel's songs, I think he is a great worship leader. But… I think that the way he dress is not going to do a better or worse christian of him… I think he is not so good with "fashion"…
Remember: the only important thing is live FOR JESUS and PRAISE HIM.
And I think that Joel and the rest of the Hillsong team are doing a great job with that.

Unfortunately I've never met Joel but I see what he is doing for God and his ppl, and you are right it does take a real man of God to do what he has done.
