Curse of the Blackberry Pearl

Posted on 11. May, 2007 by loswhit in Web/Tech

Men. When you take your jeans off and do not pick them up off the bathroom floor for 12 hours, you should not be mad at your wife for washing them.
At least she is washing your clothes right?
I mean, I should have taken the phone out of the pocket. I should have.
Blackberry Pearl + Maytag spin cycle = Wait for the iPhone to come out and suffer for 4 weeks.

My Pearl is dead. I have been phoneless for 6 days. I love it. But alas I must give in to the laws of technology addiction and get a replacement for a few weeks. I’m not looking for another Blackberry. I just need a phone.
So I ask. Does anyone out there have a Cingular phone they are not using? Just collecting dust in the dash of your pickup?
email me and let me know.

Thanks peeps.

I have a friend that bought a Go phone from Walmart to replace the one his wife broke. From what i hear he paid about $40. Seems like it works fine for her.

Just had to have that phone turned on to her account.

Isn’t free – but not too bad either.

I have a few but I don’t live in Riverside. I can mail it to you if you want. They are about a year old Nokia’s.

Did you not get insurance for your plan? If you did should only be $50 to replace it.

Yea. Cingular does not offer insurance on the Pearl because it is so expensive.
    Sucks.

Dude, I have been holding on to my DynaTAC8000X for just this moment.
Email the address it needs to go to. It’s cool again.

You might need to google it if you don’t remember it.

And yes, I have lost a digital camera and countless jump drives through, ahem, my carelessness.

This is why I check John’s jeans/pants before I throw them into the death cycle. I keep the money though…

    LOS,
Well, I’m a Verizon dude (can u hear me now?) … seriously, Cingular signal isn’t great around here – Verizon seems great just about everywhere.

Anyway regardless of signal – checkout the Palm Treo series … works awesome, I love mine, and with MarkSpace’s “Missing Sync” software, it replaces the Palm Desktop and syncs beautifully with iCal, AddressBook, Memo Pad, etc.

I’ve got my office MacBookPro, my desktop G4 in the studio, and my phone all sync’d together, and all my address, mail boxes, and icals are always insync b/c I use the .mac “sync automatically” feature.

So, I add somebody’s address at my studio – boom, it instantly appears on my MacBook Pro I use @ the church, and when I hotsync (USB or bluetooth) the Treo, I instantly have the same Calendars, Addresses, Email addresses, etc. It’s SWEET!

    God bless,
    Fred

Three weeks ago I went to purchase a Blackberry Pearl. When I finally held it in my hand – I did NOT like it at all! Way too flimsy for me. It felt like a .99 piece of plastic. When I spend hundreds of dollars on something I want it to feel like more than a child’s .99 play thing.

So… I still use my Moto V555 and spent my money on a TAURUS PT111 PRO (9mm) which I carry on my side instead of a Blackberry! :o )
