I do not have enough superlatives for Sunday’s set. It was stratospheric. I was sure we were all going to be raptured on the spot. Pure, guitar driven tsunami of sound that you could ride all the way to the Throne.
Yo LOS…great confessional…lots of insight on this one…great tips…just to let you know it inspired me to do one for us here…I am doing it all on our whole night with clips from every song and element…
i thought the pause (awkward silence) between the end of the set and the video felt like an eternity. the kind that makes you look back to see if they are awake in the back or need help pushing buttons….so yeah, totally agree.
=)
CARLOS! I’ve missed you and your family! (I was on a blog-reading hiatus while I got some priorities in ORDER.)
Our Sunday? We got our new Pastor. He made me laugh. He taught me something. And I left without the worry that I walked in with concerning the whole NEW PASTOR issue. So, Sunday? Was good.
if i am manning the crossfade it works…i think the volunteers are a bit scared to cut off any music, even when I give them the permission to do so. As of Sunday we are having training so i hope its a non issue.
Dude…I just happened to be at Sandals the first time you introduced What The World Will Never Take. And that’s what introduced me to the greatness that is United. I love that song! Anyway, nice confessions.
And P.S. – I’ve been confessin for a while now, but no linkage in the sidebar.
The crossfade can be done if you have a sound engineer who is ready to do it and isn’t afraid to do it… most usually don’t like to own the show like that (too big of a responsibility maybe… I guess that’s why they are cool running things from the back).
We do message bumper videos but we don’t cross fade. We usually end a song (people respond or don’t) and we fade lights out to black as we bring the bumper video up. This gives people a chance to respond to the song that was just done and at the same time, plenty of time for our band to exit and transition the stage to our Lead Pastor (small stage).
loved the Sting & JT was it? Awsome WC – we are having a guest WL this coming weekend and we might just sneak out of 2nd service and see if we can’t get up to the 909 and check out a service (or maybe the 7pm). What are the odds of getting a face to face?
july firth? ahahahaha too much
35 times? wow.
cash is such a rock star!
gee-tar? guitar? yeah! hehe
by the way, i’m thinking i’m getting good at playing the bumper at the right time now… =0)
i was scared to “cut off” the band but HEY, i’m just following your orders right!
also, musically, YES Hosana is the BEST. I sing it all the way home.. yeah, gotta get the words tho.. hehe
Nice to chat with you at Sbux today – I finally made it over to Ragamuffin…
Hey, I think this is a cool idea to “confess” to each other – we’re all on the same team, and hopefully we can help each other get better at this thing called worship.
Now, you GOTTA “confess” for 7-22… fer cryin’ out loud you PREACHED, man!

Thanks for being an inspiration…
the crossfade can’t be done, man.
thousands of worship leaders before have desired it and more will yearn…it cannot be.

los we are going to have a meeting at 4. your phone is not working…
Did I see the wormed bird?! Did you flip the wormed bird around 50 seconds when you said Matt Cash? Wormed bird! Wormed bird!
The only way to pull off the bumper/cross-fade: live DJ with big headphones. Saw it done at 7:22. Very Sugar Ray.
Great WC. LOOOOOOOOOOOVE Hosanna. Saw Brooke perform it with United in Jax. Rocked the house.
Peace and no more bird finger!
Great confessional Los!

Thanks for 35 bro!
Los, this is great, I had started something like this on my blog (without the critique or nifty video) but you inspire me to do more.
