“Excuse Me Mr. Whittaker…”

So as I am walking up to the plane the lady checking our boarding passes looks at me and says…”Pastor Carlos!!!”
I recognized her and knew she went to Sandals. How ironic that the last person I see in So Cal is a Sandals attender. We hugged and exchanged some Sandals love it was AWESOME. I almost started crying when I turned around to grab a pic.
I boarded the plane and crammed into seat 35C. The asle seat next to 2 nice young men. We started talking iPhone when Mrs. Sandals Attender of the Year comes walking up the aisle.
“Mr. Whittaker. Your seat assignment has been changed.”
With a wink and a smile she ushered me to seat 1C.
First class.
“Please take care of this man. He is my pastor.”
She left and I cried for a good 15 minutes.
What an amazing place.
Thank you Sandals Church.
You will always have a piece of my heart.

…you have my prayers right now, Los.
Exciting times ahead.
God is good!
Peace & Blessings

aww, feel the love=)
I was a little shocked to see that you normally do not fly first class!!! That’s awesome.
That is pretty awesome! Just imagine all the wonderful things God has for you!!! Can’t wait to read all about it!
That is so awesome… I even just got the chills! The ATL doesn’t even know how lucky they are….
Saying lots of prayers for you and this Journey…and am so excited to hear all about it! Atlanta is so much closer to Ohio – would love to meet you all someday!
Flying Air Jesus… Something about the last shall be first or something… I think He just used you as a metaphor.
I always laugh when I come up that escalator at the ATL airport…cuz the little squatting kid over in the lower right corner looks like he’s nekkid and squatting to relieve himself….
But I’m pretty immature.
God speed my brother.
Oh, and get ready for some Skin & Ink love.
i was going to say something cheesy like “first class for a first class guy” but i won’t. i’ll just think it.
i’ll miss you and your “kee do” tatoo. although my korean was rusty, i couldn’t believe i could read your arm … funny how out of the 8 words i actually know in the korean, the language of my father, “pray” is one of them. and i saw it on your arm the first month we came to sandals (last year). i knew then and there that i liked that crazy bald worship guy.
i will pray for your family’s transition and for your new adventure.
should read “… our of the 8 words i actually know in the korean language…”
(yikes, my grammar sounds like english is my second language. ouch that hurt my eyes to read it)
Will be praying for you as you begin this new chapter in your life. So glad to have you back in the dirty south where you belong!!!
Looking forward to great things from you!
God’s people, plans, and love are so overwhelming. Enjoy the blessing of this time, Carlos. The honeymoon is beautiful and surreal.
Carlos,
I may not know you, but I can sympathize with being moved by God. I’ll pray for you and your family’s peace, and for this new stage in your ministry.
God bless!
Brandy
Carlos:
Isn’t it amazing that at the very last minute in CA God showers blessings on you? I think when you leave with integrity knowing that He has ordered your steps, the biggest surprises come from unexpected places. Bob Carlisle has a great saying about first class – “It’s not just a better seat, it’s a better life.” ESPECIALLY flying a red eye cross country!
Love you guys and we are praying.
Kathy
Welcome back to the South!
this one made me cry and you are not even my pastor…
pressed down, shaken together, overflowing…your cup is big, very big. lots of blessings.
Welcome to the South!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
What a beautiful way to say goodbye. Wishing your family the best during your transition to Atlanta.
Wow! I got bumped to first class last year, on the 2nd leg of my trip to see my sister, shortly before she went to see Jesus.
It IS a blessing to have the extra room and the extra service in the front rows!
So, next time I get to ATL I’ll have to swing by. I’ve only been once, so no telling when that will be. I’ll still call you every time I drive through the RC! (Riverside County, for those of you who live sheltered lives!) ; )
Matter of fact, I’ll be driving through once a month for awhile!
Remember, if we think of you, we pray for you, and we think of you very much!
Peace and Blessing to you and yours!
Grandpa “G” O-U-T!
yeah i got bumped to 1st class once due to a bum leg. it was cool. warm nuts. mmmmm. you rock “mr. whittaker” hehe that sounds even more weird than ‘pastor carlos’
