Non-denominational… Love your blog! Why? Because you share what’s real… you love your family, are in the midst of a huge transition, have an organic sense to how you approach life, and I love peeking in on the behind the scenes stuff with your new place. It makes North Point seem a lot more friendlier. Thanks again and hope the meetings don’t stifle your creativity.

[heavy sigh] First Mennonite Brethren Church, in Wichita, KS. Yes, I have a car. No, I don’t wear bonnets. The theology and practice of the denomination is very similar to Evangelical Free. Quick descriptions of our particular church:
    - mid-sized, suburban, white-collar
    - boomer oriented, with a recently perceptible increase in younger attendance
    - historic ethnicity: small town, farmers
    - two styles of worship: ‘blended’ and ‘contemporary’. Don’t get me started on that terminology

Have been without a permanent church home for the last 15 months or so. It’s a bit awkward when you’re used to having a stable church family and ministry.

We’re currently attending (on a not so regular basis) Moody Bible Church in downtown Chicago. Pastor Erwin Lutzer’s sound doctrine is a breath of fresh air in a city that seems to have been taken over by a certain popular movement.

We don’t ‘Go’ to any church…it is a growing frustration. Love your blog. Frustrated with ‘Going’ to church. Tired of the ‘elite’ getting to be ‘used’ and the regular peeps just sit in the pews and shut up. Sounds like were reverting back to a couple hundred years ago! :) It sounds harsh, but where we live it seems it is that or don’t go. Living in Maui and want more from being a true body of Christ.
