OK. I am not going to deny it. I have the dream job. I do.
I don’t deserve it. But I got it.
I am surrounded with the most creative people on the planet and am living a creative/musician/influencer dream.
To be heading up the creative/music/programming dream team at Buckhead Church is mind blowing.
So I am going to answer the following question with…see above.

If you could have the “perfect job”…

What would it be?

I would be a worship leader in a local church.

    Know anybody who needs one?

    Martin Smith’s?
    Apple New Product Tester?
    Fender New Guitar Tester?
What I do now without all the hassles? And more money? And a vacation at least once a year? And less hassles? And more money?

Never in a bazillion years would I have thought I would say this, but

    homeschooling my kids
    leading two relational small groups
    volunteeringX1
    volunteeringX1
volunteeringX1…yeah, I think those are all of them…
…not being paid a dime in terms of monetary compensation, but so rich in life it hurts sometimes…

I’m pretty sure I’m doing exactly what He wants me to do, and the job suits me perfectly.

I would be the last dude on an NBA roster, the guy who never plays, never talks to the media, all he does is practice the game I love, travels the country and some of the world and has the best seat in the house to watch the greatest ball players in the world play ball. I would gladly take the base salary of $325,000 a year and have my summers off.

    Dream job or Fantasy Job?

Fantasy would be to be able to play drums and making enough money to live on. Not on the road either…..

Dream job at this point in my life, however, would be artist relations with a great percussion brand or any instrument that made quality gear. I really enjoy the relationship building process.
I had a portion of the dream job, but not what I needed.

I loved my short stint in the Army working as a parachute rigger. My comrades thought that I lacked motivation because I didn’t want to get promoted out of the “packshed” but I had a blast there. Plus, who wouldn’t want to get paid to jump out of airplanes???

ok, so i’m a closet blog reader. i read blogs constantly (seriously i’m addicted – and for a while now) but i don’t comment on anyone’s blog i don’t know. i guess that makes it funny that this particular post would inspire me! i’m pretty passionate on this topic though. :-)

for the record – I have the best job in the world. i’m the media director at my church in wilmington, nc. but i suppose if i HAD to give it up – i’d go after rachael ray’s job.

    love the ink!

congrats on the new job! (ok, your’s is pretty great too)

is it weird that people who don’t know you congratulate you on that stuff? it hasn’t happened to me yet.

so there you go – i’m out of the closet.

    make it great!
