Nice job bro. I love how you shared the gospel in such a natural way.

  3. Texas in Africa 2 October 2007 at 6:58 pm #

That was great! I’m glad they actually put your story in there, rather than sanitizing out the God part. Very cool, but oh my gosh that looked SO PAINFUL!

  4. Jamie 2 October 2007 at 6:59 pm #

Hey, I’m in Riverside! Saw it cuz I have Satellite!! Awesome and weird at the same time!

  5. Abigail 2 October 2007 at 6:59 pm #

  9. Doug 2 October 2007 at 7:02 pm #

My butt was planted in the recliner!

  10. Phillip McCart 2 October 2007 at 7:03 pm #

Bro, how unbelievable is it that in almost the same breath Saul’s conversion, lesbians, and Jenna Jameson were mentioned. Thanks for being bold and representing well. Incredible tat man. Thanks for choosing to cheat.

  11. Danielle 2 October 2007 at 7:03 pm #

“Me and God–We’re in a good place right now.” Totally loved that line, Carlos :) It was great to hear your story! I can’t believe a few months ago I didn’t even know who you were, and tonight my roommate and I scheduled time to watch you on TV. Pretty cool.

  12. Erica 2 October 2007 at 7:03 pm #

    i work at a church…too many hours….convicted….changing….thanks

  13. Jake 2 October 2007 at 7:03 pm #

  14. Russ 2 October 2007 at 7:04 pm #

Awesome!! Me and my wife watched together!! I appreciated your enthusiasm and your honesty about your life.

    God’s Best,
    Russ

  15. Ryan 2 October 2007 at 7:04 pm #

I’m a reader of Dustin Bryson’s site and a huge fan of tattoos and getting a few soon. I saw his post about you and decided to watch. Totally awesome tattoo. It’s so cool that you got it done on national tv as well.

loved it. You looked hot, Los … almost as good as your wife.

  17. marc the lighting guy 2 October 2007 at 7:06 pm #

Your the man! 15 hours of ink and not a tear……. I am glad they let you tell the whole story and didn’t dilute it. So whats the next one gonna be?

  18. matt 2 October 2007 at 7:11 pm #

    Amazing!!!
You managed to mask the pain well.
Way to tell the story. Rock on.

  19. Dave 2 October 2007 at 7:13 pm #

You can now claim the throne for all tattooed worship guys the world over.
    The ink looks amazing, dude.
And the message just makes it all the sweeter.

  20. Larissa 2 October 2007 at 7:14 pm #

Good job, boi!! It was so weird to see you on TV. :D You did a really wonderful job sharing your testimony, but still not seeming like you’re shoving the gospel down the throats of America. It was very personal. Well done. Love you!

  21. WorshipCity 2 October 2007 at 7:16 pm #

    SICK SICK SICK SICK!!!
    OH GOODNESS THAT WAS SICK!
Rae and I couldn’t stop laughing at seeing you on TV! It was so great though! However, things got thick and real with your story. We ran through the same thing about 2 years ago before our daughter was born. Thanks so much for your story and honesty and mad wicked tatt!

  22. Josh Lane 2 October 2007 at 7:22 pm #

hey man just saw the show, nice work…you got a really nice piece out of the whole thing too and not to mention all the fame and stuff.

  23. Andrea 2 October 2007 at 7:23 pm #

We’ve never met, but I caught myself telling someone that one of my “friends” was on LA Ink tonight. I then explained that I feel like I know your family from your blog! Thanks for being so transparent. Has anyone introduced your family to la Madeleine’s in Atlanta yet? It’s a must.

  24. Mike 2 October 2007 at 7:25 pm #

My wife and I watched – very cool. Makes me almost want a tat myself. You made it look so easy.

  25. S. Pihlaja 2 October 2007 at 7:25 pm #

Any chance this is going to end up on YouTube? Any chance we could get a close look at the tat? Please, oh please.

  26. Alisha J 2 October 2007 at 7:26 pm #

DJ and I just finished watching it on DVR – awesome! We should add this line to the Winter Conference Brochure: “…as seen on LA Ink.”

  27. Naz 2 October 2007 at 7:27 pm #

It’s amazing how they just skip over the sheer amount of time that took. But the part where you got to check it out was sweet. Good job letting your light shine.

  28. Eric 2 October 2007 at 7:27 pm #

relevant story and a simple but clear presentation of the Gospel. i love how TLC told your story right around the porn stuff. you already know that i love the ink because i’ve seen it in person … but i loved watching how she drew it out. that was incredible. it was so weird to see you on national freakin’ TV. crazy. i love you bro.

  29. clay 2 October 2007 at 7:28 pm #

a great show… but the gal with the piercings in her dimples freaked me out a bit.

  30. Bryan 2 October 2007 at 7:28 pm #

That was absolutely amazing. It’s official. I’ve got to get myself a tattoo. As a pastor’s kid who has also been a pastor for the past 13 years, I can definitely relate to the unbalanced life that puts the church above family. For the first 8 years of our marriage, I worked 70 hours a week. I’ve decided that I don’t love my church family anywhere near as much as my wife and kids.

Great story. Beautiful tat… Yeah, gonna get myself one of those.

  31. Danae 2 October 2007 at 7:32 pm #

Awesome…and good job presenting the gospel in such a way that all could understand

  32. Laura 2 October 2007 at 7:32 pm #

    I watched! So cool!!

  33. whittakerwoman 2 October 2007 at 7:41 pm #

You were fine! Hot! Ouch! H

  34. tracie 2 October 2007 at 7:43 pm #

Loved it. I was telling some friends that you were going to be on it and I started to say “A guy I know is going to be on LA Ink”. I had to stop myself b/c well, I don’t really know you. Funny how I feel that I do. I kept saying over and over that I hoped they’d show your precious family!!

  35. stephen 2 October 2007 at 7:44 pm #

incredible. you don’t know me, but i’m a worship leader from south carolina and found your appearance completely refreshing. its so awesome to see you on a show, proclaiming truth with so much influence. rock on dude…that made my night.

  36. T 2 October 2007 at 7:45 pm #

Sweetness! I need to get my sleeve done. You did great!

  37. Tracey/Real Estate Girl 2 October 2007 at 7:52 pm #

I watched!!! Me and hubby (worship minister here in good ‘ole Alabama) both were glued to the tv!

I was like, “look! it’s Carlos! How cool is that?!”

Loved your “story” and how much air time they gave you!

That’s awesome! Hope to look you up when we’re in the ATL visiting all our family!

  38. Sara 2 October 2007 at 7:55 pm #

I feel like I know ya since I read your blog, so it was kinda like I was seeing someone I know on tv. I had other people watch it cuz I was like ooh I know that guy, well not really, but kinda. Haha.

  39. Shae Sweeney 2 October 2007 at 7:55 pm #

How awesome!!! Even weirder watching it with you in the room. I’m so proud to know you and your family… yay for tattoos. I wonder what my arm would look like… hmmmmm

  40. Cruz-Control 2 October 2007 at 7:58 pm #

    Awesome, bro. That’s just awesome!!!

  41. Mr. Police Man 2 October 2007 at 7:59 pm #

No. I’m in calif. and its only 857pm here. You are on at 10. All of you have just ruined it for me. THANKS!

Can’t wait to see it in an hr. I am also recording it to watch over and over again.

Los, think they would give me a “REAL” tattoo so I can stop putting this fake tattoo on ever other day?

  42. Vickie 2 October 2007 at 8:00 pm #

Been a lurker for a long time. Love your blog. I’m at work, but I DVR’d (is that a verb?) it …. can’t wait to get home in the morning and watch.

And I second the question about you posting some close up pics here.

  43. Greg 2 October 2007 at 8:01 pm #

dude, that was awesome. good job.

  44. Cari 2 October 2007 at 8:14 pm #

    That was awesome, Carlos.

  45. bobby 2 October 2007 at 8:18 pm #

    In Cali. No cable.
Going to a friends house right now to catch it.
    Paying him with Sam Adams.
    I can’t wait.
And of course I get to share it with him. ;)

Los! Thanks for inviting me to the viewing party…it was so fun to be there with you and Heather, new friends and old…and the big screens…WOW you were on big screens!!!!

  49. Joe 2 October 2007 at 8:35 pm #

Nice job, man!! Gorgeous tattoo as well…

  50. Avril 2 October 2007 at 8:43 pm #

That was awesome! I’m not married but I can relate to letting church consume you to the point where you neglect the people around you. What a powerful testimony and what a blessing to be able to share your story with the world! And they did a great job on the tat too! :-)

  51. grant... 2 October 2007 at 8:58 pm #

    it’s DVR’d…
so now i can show people…

  52. David Hale 2 October 2007 at 9:06 pm #

Carlos! We just saw the intro and we’re pumped! I’ve been waiting for this episode for ever since we heard you were going to be on it. It’ll be cool to see the final product on tv and hear your story. Can’t wait to see the rest of the episode. Hope you and the fam are doing great in your new home. Take it easy.

  53. andrea 2 October 2007 at 9:12 pm #

You looked great on TV but you and the TAT look much better in person. Since I can’t knock on your door anymore at least I can see you whenever I want. Technology Rocks, even though I am Techtarded.

  54. stephanie 2 October 2007 at 9:12 pm #

  56. alex mclean 2 October 2007 at 9:18 pm #

you made hannah work for it! Good story. Is NP lettin’ you do your 40?

  57. Whit 2 October 2007 at 9:20 pm #

It was like I was watching one of my good friends on tv despite the fact that I’ve only been reading your blog for a couple months if that! I’m amazed by the tattoo and the fact that you could sit there for one so big!

  58. Sabrina & Eric/Sandals 2 October 2007 at 9:22 pm #

Hey Los, good thing we have Tivo, I was at RD group and would have missed if I didn’t. As soon as I got home, Sabrina and I flipped on the show. We have been recording every episode waiting for yours to air. It’s so cool that they let you share your testimony, great job! Sabrina says to say hi to Heather and the kids.

  59. alexsandra 2 October 2007 at 9:38 pm #

    I don’t get that channel….

  63. steven.russell 2 October 2007 at 10:02 pm #

Worked a double today and the first thing I did when I came in wasveatch the episode. You are cooler than the other side of the pillow, bro.

  64. Jamie 2 October 2007 at 10:03 pm #

I was doing my part to boost the ratings here in Long Beach. I expected some good work, but…YOWWWWSSSSSAAA! A masterpiece!

  65. TiNA 2 October 2007 at 10:05 pm #

Just finished watching! So cool! What an amazing opportunity. I have been telling people all over the OC to watch for you on the show… a guy at Kinkos and all the folks at Saddleback. What a conversation starter! Again, congrats! Go God!

  66. justin aka j rocka 2 October 2007 at 10:08 pm #

that was surreal. i just kept thinking suckers! los was there twice! i am glad the editors didnt totally twist your story to make you look bad. i was nervous that they would do that. you rocked bro. made me miss you more.

it was funny seeing ken rocking out behind you onstage!

i am so glad your episode finally aired. now i don’t have to hear kats man voice anymore=)

  67. Albee 2 October 2007 at 10:13 pm #

Amazing!!! They gave you a good chunk of time, which was good. Congrats! Heath was looking hot…

  68. Jenni 2 October 2007 at 10:18 pm #

It’s amazing how they made such a long process seem like it only took an hour or so.

Seriously though… How awesome that you got to witness on national television like that. What a privilege.

    BTW…It’s a great looking tattoo!!!

  69. Scott 2 October 2007 at 10:28 pm #

Awesome!!! You did a great job! Love ya bro!

  70. shan 2 October 2007 at 10:37 pm #

we watched it & now the re-run is on so now it’s background noise while i blog…that was great! you told your “story” in such a way where people can really relate to you, such an awesome way to witness. hannah is the best artist on the show, she did SUCH a great job. loved the pics daley took too!

  71. RogerB 2 October 2007 at 10:40 pm #

My son and I watched the show tonight. I really liked the message of what came across in the story. Thanks for being used for the Kingdom of God tonight.

    Cool tattoo too!
    Blessings, –RB

  72. Denise C. 2 October 2007 at 11:03 pm #

Would it be corny to admit that I got a little misty? Misty cuz you were REPRESENTING Christ…you gave a shout-out to Sandals (we all went wooooooo!)…and they showed that pic of your beautiful family. All I can say is Hannah and her talent–SICK!! That tat is amazing! So cool. Oh, quick question, what’s up with that checking out West Hollywood reference?? Hmmmm? Am I the only one that caught that? :)

  73. jessica 3 October 2007 at 12:20 am #

    i tivo-ed it and just watched! =)

  74. jessica 3 October 2007 at 12:21 am #

oh- and i like how they made you wear the same shirt when you came back… but hannah totally went from wearing blue to black haha

  75. Slade 3 October 2007 at 3:05 am #

It was great. And it’s a good thing they didn’t show the Lamaze breathing. :) And when they showed the photos of Heather, you and the kids…dude…maybe I’m a sissy, maybe it’s the sleep deprivation of having a one-month-old, but I almost lost it. Last thing… time to get a new t-shirt.

  76. Molly Moore 3 October 2007 at 3:14 am #

    AWESOME!!

Go ahead Saul/Paul! I’m so glad to finally know what the tat is all about.
I love it… the show was very cool how they really brought your message out.

  77. TIM 3 October 2007 at 3:17 am #

What a TERRIBLE Tattoo! (Just kidding, I love it).
What more can be said than “Thank You.”
Thank you for not being a crack-weirdo Christian who does damage
in the name of Jesus, hurting my chances to share the gospel because
    of silly, stupid comments made.

Your heart was seen, heard, and felt. Your impact was beautiful,
    natural, and wonderful.

Thank you for being full of grace and truth. You were Jesus.

    Talk and hang soon.

  78. Russell 3 October 2007 at 3:38 am #

Now let’s see some detailed pics!!

  79. Todd Ruth 3 October 2007 at 4:03 am #

Very very cool. Nice transparency. You did Jesus proud!

    livearevolution.typepad.com

  80. Cindi 3 October 2007 at 4:14 am #

What an amazing thing…told all of my Ohio friends that my “friend” Carlos was going to be on t.v. last night. Had such a rough day at our house – put our 17 year old cat to sleep – and really needed to end the day with something to stop the crying. The whole family got into one bed to watch together. It was amazing and just what we needed. Thanks! You are so awesome!!

  81. Abe 3 October 2007 at 4:17 am #

    Los

That was awesome bro, you did a great job it made the wait worth it! You are the man, thanks again for your transparency and living it real!

  82. Rachael Walkup 3 October 2007 at 4:29 am #

That was AWESOME!!!! So glad you got to share the gospel in an amazing way! I love the TAT by the way…makes me want a bigger one :)

  83. Lance 3 October 2007 at 4:34 am #

Heck yes, I watched! I love the tattoo, man. Great story too!

  84. Brent 3 October 2007 at 4:43 am #

    great job Los!

But, I’m feeling that they are cramming more tats in their episodes. So, each tat is getting less screen time. And less time with the customer (ie. you).

    Sleeve looks wicked!

  85. Kevin 3 October 2007 at 4:50 am #

I watched and I’ve never watch The Learning Channel, LA Ink or Miami Ink. Great story about your family Los! Everyone in ministry w/families needs to hear , I mean, watch that episode. Great witness!

  86. keri 3 October 2007 at 4:53 am #

rusty and i watched. it was weird seeing you on there! (i’m a fan of the show and watch every week)…it was just so cool to see someone i know on the show. you did great and the tattoo is really amazing!

  87. Jon Lloyd 3 October 2007 at 4:59 am #

    Great stuff Los.

  88. Phil 3 October 2007 at 5:06 am #

I made my wife watch, we missed the first half and I was afraid we had missed your tat, lucky for us they made you last.

It was awesome, we appreciated just how real you were saying that you didn’t want to be a part of the church, my wife is a PK. I think she’s felt that way before.

    Anyways thanks for your honesty.

  89. Jason 3 October 2007 at 5:12 am #

The whole family sat around and watched you represent. Loved how you shared your story.

  90. Deneen 3 October 2007 at 5:14 am #

I watched…it was awesome. Your story woven with the tattoo pierced my heart. Good stuff. I can only imagine the impact it had on the target audience, seeing a music pastor being so transparent on national television.

  91. Abs 3 October 2007 at 5:21 am #

That was amazing! I was so glad they allowed you the chance to really speak from your heart and they didn’t edit it all out.

Love the tat – I’m am impressed with your ability to withstand long periods of tortuous pain. That’s love…

  92. Andrea D. 3 October 2007 at 5:22 am #

We watched….it rocked. What a great story. We were so stoked to see you on TV, we’ve been waiting to finally see this tattoo. It was worth the wait. You did awesome!

  93. Ben 3 October 2007 at 5:23 am #

It’s really cool to see the ways God uses “taboo” places to spread His word and reveal His glory. And the ink is amazing they all are very talented at what they do.

  94. Brandon 3 October 2007 at 5:34 am #

that was awesome dude!!! great job representing the gospel….

  95. Marshall 3 October 2007 at 6:09 am #

Yes! Great tat and an awesome witness!

    MH

  96. Isaac Downing 3 October 2007 at 6:37 am #

    Heck yes.

    Amazing tat, man.

  97. rachel 3 October 2007 at 6:42 am #

Amazing tatoo. Mine’s as big as a quarter and I was almost crying, I can’t imagine how yours felt. Love what it represents!

  98. Amy 3 October 2007 at 7:12 am #

Awesome show. Watched with my 15yo son. He needs to see a cool guy represent God and be real and open. You did it! You put yourself out there and you got a great opportunity to share your story and you slam-dunked it!! Oh yeah…the tat sings man!!!!!SWEET! But I know that had to hurt…alot. OUCH!

  99. chip 3 October 2007 at 7:13 am #

We began watching the show from episode one wondering when you would be on. The reason behind your tatoo and the reasons behind some others are so completely opposite. Such a different culture then we live here in central Illinois but very interesting. Thanks for being a light!

  100. BTrip 3 October 2007 at 8:02 am #

Dude… you freaking rocked it for all of us. I am proud of you man! I do have to say… that i thought my new tat was rock and roll… but your tat kicks my tat butt!

i am bloging about you as we speak! http://www.bobbytriplett.blogspot.com

  101. Jinx 3 October 2007 at 8:51 am #

It was awesome dude!!! It was cool to see them allow everything about God and faith and all that stuff to remain how it should be, and essentially let you witness to possibly millions of people through their show. Now I’ve got to go get my tat expanded into a half sleeve….

  102. Ryan Shove 3 October 2007 at 8:55 am #

Carlos, was that real or henna? Cause I got a henna tattoo at the North Georgia State Fair. I was just wondering. Great show. It was pretty sweet when your voice went really high before you checked it out in the mirror. nice recovery.

    shove

  103. Amanda 3 October 2007 at 8:59 am #

Dave and I were so excited! Your story made me teary eyed. What a testimony on a show like LA ink!

  104. Mimi 3 October 2007 at 9:34 am #

    Dude! Your INK ROCKS!!!!!!

  105. rob reed 3 October 2007 at 9:34 am #

Very cool, Los… good spot, but I would’ve liked them to have more worship music playing. That love story substory could easily have been replaced by a Kat and crew trip to Riverside for worship!

/yah, right, like that was gonna happen :)

  106. lifespassionz 3 October 2007 at 9:39 am #

Yep – my husband B and I watched! SO COOL!!!

  107. erin 3 October 2007 at 9:39 am #

so my grandmother who is 78 watched it!! this is what she said ~ “Saw your boss on tv last night. That must hurt. Tattoos are not for me.”

    how awesome is that :)

  108. Claire 3 October 2007 at 10:00 am #

I thought it was great! Thanks for sharing your story!!

  109. whitesandbaby 3 October 2007 at 10:26 am #

Awwwhh yeah! Representing for the men who love God and their wives everywhere! I still wish they let the loved ones come with, like on Miami ink, so Heather could have been there too. Oh well.

  110. luftmensch 3 October 2007 at 10:45 am #

Testimony was excellent – sorry the art wasn’t as right on as hoped.

LAink is equivalent to going to a carnival freak show.

    So, how many $$’s?

  111. Tammy 3 October 2007 at 11:06 am #

I did watch. Your tat is amazing. Love the meaning behind it. Very cool indeed.

  112. Penelope 3 October 2007 at 11:09 am #

Well -that was cool, but I had a whole show about me. It was before I moved to Italy because I had been working 100 hours a week and had been married 3 times. It was before the cat (or frog) came….

  113. KAT 3 October 2007 at 1:03 pm #

Saw it. Loved it. Your story was awesome. Welcome to the ATL!

    Tivo’d it….watched it this morning. You’re a stud…and just so likeable-it totally came across on t.v.
Made me cry…I’m not sure if it was from the pain of watching her with the needles on your arm, or from knowing that watching that is as close as I can get to seeing you for a long while. :-/

Miss you TONS Los. Give that baby boy of yours a kiss for me please.

Hey Los…James from the REVEAL podcast here…dude, that tattoo is badass. Completely awesome, and so well drawn too.

Whenever you’re back visiting the 951, holler at me. Let’s go for coffee.

I saw it last night! I was flipped through and I thought, “I’ve seen him before”! I felt silly cause I told my husband, “I know that guy”! I have never met you but just talked to you online but I recognized you right away. Your tattoo is awesome! I thought you were an awesome example and the pics of your family were beautiful

Los, this next week is Jenna Jameson on Ink. It would have been classic if they would have put both of yours stories in the same episode!

  126. sharon 3 November 2007 at 5:34 pm #

hey – just hit your site. Saw the episode 2 times on La Ink. Mentioned to my husband that TLC must have edited out the name of Jesus since you can’t talk about Saul’s conversion with talking about Jesus. Is that right? How many times did TLC delete the name of Jesus? Curious????

I have a similar story and I really related to the tattoo of Sauls conversion and I would love a copy of the tattoo so I can get one similar. The lord has changed my entire life and I want to have a memory of it on my body. It will also serve as a great conversation starter to tell people my story and about the healing power of God.
