Lunch With Brad Lomenick From Catalyst

Another reason I love to blog.
Brad was reading my blog and saw a post I made on my impressions of the Catalyst Conference.
We had a great email exchange and it ended with lunch plans.
Those plans turned into a weight gaining hour and a half of great conversation and Maggiano’s spaghetti and sausage.
It is not everyday you get to sit with a visionary like Brad. Here were a few of the gems I took from the conversation.
- We need to be looking outside the church walls for development of church culture and leadership
- Many people focusing on a single task can shift culture in seconds
- Very soon there will be nothing a person can buy that they can’t get for free on the web.
- The look and feel of large events will radically change in the next 5 years as web 2.0 shifts to web 3.0
- Catalyst is constantly looking for ways to improve and innovate on a DAILY basis.
- Brad has a team of 5 people running that gig. FIVE.
- Including people WAY outside your circle of influence keeps things moving in the right direction.
So thanks Brad for your hour and a half yesterday.
Who have you been learning from lately?

Ben Rogers, leader on the ground of Children’s Cup International Releif (childrenscup.org) Organization in Swaziland Africa. He has amazing insight and wisdom from the field.
Aliece Cole, leader of the Stripper/street Outreach at HPC (http://serve.healingplacechurch.org).
Thanks for this. Now I feel like I too had lunch with Brad Lomenick (except without the calories). I’m learning a lot from Dan Kimball and a few old-school southern baptists. Their passion for saving souls is quite contagious.
