It’s Personal Creative Confessional – Brad Bretz

Again. From our initial meeting with Andy asking…”So what are you going to speak about in 2 months?”…to what follows.
I don’t think I will EVER get tired of creating with this team.
This is from our current series called It’s Personal.
Here was Title Package from week one…[quicktime movie embedded here RSS readers]
OK, so here is the scoop on how “It’s Personal” came about…
These videos are unique in a couple of ways. First, everything is photographs. In the early creative meetings we wanted to tell three stories of different individual’s lives and the barrier’s that kept them from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Let me tell ya, these stories are powerful. We fell in love with a couple of black and white photo’s from JPEG magazine and as we worked through some design comps, decided to add blue splash to it. The bulletin looks great (See previous post) and overall the series is coming together well. One additional unique flavor about this series is that we are incorporating ALL SCREENS for the title package. Meaning, the videos will be showing on the 16×9 image mag as well as the High Def screen in the middle. The trick here (and we are still learning) is to not have the person in the audience try to figure out which one to look at but to instead, have a visual experience.
Here are the steps that we took to create the series so far…
So if I were you I would plug Brad into your RSS reader.
His blog is worth admission to all the creative church conferences combined.
And it’s free from Brad.
You have GOT to love Web 2.0.
Oh. And Andy is ROLLIN’ this time around.
It’s Personal.

more to come…
Fantastic! Love you.
I had the pleasure of working with Brad and his team on one of the “It’s Personal” videos as they are doing my story. I must say, I was greatly impressed. It’s such a blessing to see excellence walked out in the church. Plus, Brad is very, very tall and I am very, very short and I think I fit comfortably under his armpit with room to spare.
Meghan, I think Carlos fits nicely under my arm pit but with no room to spare.
I can’t wait for this Sunday. Meghan you did an amazing job and I can’t wait to see you on Sunday and hear your song. The guys said you were wonderful and it sounded incredible.
I’m so glad Brad is breaking down and documenting his team’s projects the way he is–I can’t think of a more useful resource to tech guys than to observe the workflow of creative professionals at their best. Thanks Brad, for taking the time to share with us. I know you’re on staff at NP, but I’m pretty sure you don’t get paid for blogging–so thank you for intentionally volunteering your time for our benefit. Please do keep it up!
Great job gang! You all don’t know how much you help us in the partnerships to reach our communities. Thanks for all you do.
When you going to pull out that song “Personal Jesus” for the series? Also… what is going to happen with part 4 of the series??
