Your Kicks

I admit. When I moved from Riverside to the ATL I did not know if I would continue with the boots.
A bald Mexican with tattoos and boots means one thing on the West Coast.
A bald Mexican with tattoos and boots means something completely different in the South.
But I pushed through the initial whispers and they are still a staple in my LA Rocker collection.
I wear them about 50% of the time.
What are your stanks rockin’ as of late?

If I was asked a week ago it would have always been Vans Old Schools (In various colors). Well this week I added something new to the lineup and so far I love them.
They are the Simple Sno Tire. Great shoe and ECO Friendly.

Soul. Get out. Those are sexy

  3. Soulca 10 December 2007 at 3:26 pm #

Hey man what can I say, we always try to keep it sexy in south OC. Bought them in black.

I’ve been wearing the Chuck Taylors most of the time lately. I switch between black and blue. My hiking type shoes (Keen and Saloman) are starting to get more of my interest though so my go-to shoes may change soon.

I just can’t put on a pair of boots without looking like a ginormous redneck, so I tend to stay away from the shiny boots with pointy toes. I’ve grown comfortable in the fact that I will never be able to pull off the “rocker” image unless the image starts to change a lot.

Now that it’s finally gotten “cold” in the OC, I can finally start rocking the Tony Llamas again. The last responder would call me a redneck, but that’s part of the fun. A white dude with a greased pompadour in cowboy boots in Idaho means one thing, but a white dude wiith a greased pompadour in cowboy boots in the 949 means another. They look especially fly against designer jeans.

Go ahead, give me the stank-eye. I love it when you do. :)

Fake leather wedge sandals by “George”–yes, the Walmart brand. I’m thinking I need to let them go 1) because it’s kinda cold and has rained and my feet get wet; and 2) the wedge part has the brown coloring all scuffed and looking like I’m homeless. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Ha. They were so comfortable to begin with, but I’ve worn them down and they’re loose and just not so pretty anymore. ;-) Seems I’m always on the lookout for shoes… They need to not bind your feet all up, I’m just funny that way, yet are feminine with a little heel and still all-purpose. Yep. I am very cool.

I’ve been kicking the standard Gene Simmons platform spiked boots. What? Is that not normal. OK…OK, I only wear them when leading worship. Relax. Geez.

Today, I’m rockin’ a pair of Fred Perry canvas tennis shoes that are dark blue and clearly designed to honor the classic Jack Purcell Converses.

They’re my go to pair since I blew out my second pair of straight black Vans slip ons. I wear those things to the ground. Got to get another pair.

    Let’s see…my top 5 favs are:

    1. A 12 year-old pair of J.Crew penny loafers with the wooden bottoms. They are completely worn out and comfy. And yes, they have pennies in them.

    2. A black pair of Steve Madden slip-ons.

    3. Quicksilver sandals, no doubt. (Dark green)

    4. Asics DS Trainers (my running buddies)

    5. When I can away with it, no shoes at all.

  24. brodyHarper 11 December 2007 at 1:26 pm #

Red pumps with the strap across the top and an open toe.
