Bring In The New Year

Posted on 01. Jan, 2008 by loswhit in Worship Leading

Well I spent my New Years Eve doing what I was born to do. Worship my living God. Sweaty college students packed into a room after a 3 hour dance party. Then the clock strikes midnight and voices erupt. We worshipped until 1:17 AM PST. I was at LAX at 5 AM.

sat on my friends couch with his Fiance and his roommate and watched the bourne identity….but you sir…looked like you had a much much greater time. Wish I could have experienced that.

I spent it with you ;)

And yes Steven – it was super hero night (which really meant wear your underwear on the outside of your pants night)

watched dick clark after playing apples to apples. it was sad to see how hard of a time he had speaking. seemed even worse than last year.

    Hey carlos!

I was at SDWC and I just want to say thank you for all your hard work and dedication. This was my second year of conference and I still cannot think of any better way to bring in the new year than singing out and praising God. You guys rocked and all the songs you played struck me to the core. Thank you!

Hangin’ with a ton of my NewSpring familia watching the NYC ball drop on an HD screen, while anticipating a huge motorbike jump happening in Vegas.

There was a chocolate fountain and the Clemson Tigers lost.

    It was great. :)

I was asleep by 11. Lame, I know. But does having a sinus infection and a major sinus headache get me off the hook?

Looks like a great time. Happy New Year!

Chris G – no shame in that New Years celebration. Praise God for the wife you can play video games with!!

I was worshiping as well…compliments of The Burn. A few of my friends were up there leading. They lit it up, for sure. We took communion just before midnight and I probably left around 1 to beat the drunkards to the streets. ;)

I kissed my wife and watched Robbie Maddison set a new record for a long jump on a motorcycle.

Scott!! We watched that too – that was almost the highlight of our year!

We stayed home, the kids and I. The last 2 years Kassidy and Kennedy made it till Midnight to see the ball drop on TV and poor Kameron fell asleep at 11:45 both years! This year though, he made it! He was very excited to drink his sparkling cider. All 4 kids were awake this year, guess Kam needed a brother to keep him company. Frank said he was unloading equipment in Kuwait in freezing cold temps when it turned to 2008. Fun times!

I took a video camera with me to a party. I wanted to get a young 20-something’s perspective on the new year so I could blog about it. Unfortunately, the boos that were flowing unleashed a string of profanity that ruined my video. I think I was the only sober one there.

Asleep by 10:00 pm. Someone had to get up at 4 am to make lattes for all of the tired/hungover people in the world!
