Flowerdust, Whittaker Woman, Ethos, Shlog, Ragamuffin Soul…

Anne, Randy, Heather, Shaun, Myself, and 10 other bloggers are meeting in Chicago in a few weeks.
A few months back I asked a question…
What could be done if bloggers put the influence of their blogs together to create change in a single moment?
Monday…
You will find the answer.
Los

i can’t WAIT to paint everyone red!!!!
The suspense is killing me…I’m not even joking!
yeah…this news is so old
What could be done…? My guess would be something pretty “compassion”ate…
Have fun in Chicago, Los. Shaun’s ideas are revolutionary!!!
I will be sunbathing in SoCal, and following EVERY second of this. Twitter, baby.
Chicago? Lemme know when & where – I’m there!
Chi-town is my town.
Later – T
ohh I can’t wait keep a guy updated!
Ya’ll should include Hodge…..
Ooohhh….this sounds exciting!!!
Epic. Simply…epic.
when are you going to be there? We live adout two hours are so from Chicago…we would love to meet you guys.
Sounds like a party, or maybe a get together, hmmmm maybe a movement!
If something IS decided, I want to be in on it.
invisible children?
bloggers without borders?
Any chance you’d set up a time for your midwest readers to hang with you over coffee or lunch or something in chicago? it’d be cool.
Whatever…everyone is getting all super excited like they do every 10 years or so about HIV/AIDS but until real people put real money and real sacrifice into loving people…nothing is really going to change in AFRICA or anywhere else in the world for that matter. So yeah…I am pissed. So go to Hallmark and buy your cards as 8% of the money for the RED cards actually goes to AFCICA and read all about changing the world with your 2 week mission trips but until Gods people get on thier knees and pray for the people on the other side of the world and actually do something about it…REALLY do something about it, I doubt anything will ever change. People will talk about it for a month and then they will move onto somthing else, like a movie they once saw. Whatever. My stomach hurts.
Nothing like a pissed off and angry American thinking they are the only one saving the world because they packed up bags and went. That tirade is not going to change a thing.
I hope you are just having a bad day.
Lord knows your best days are harder than my worst.
But get off your horse and let people actually pray.
All your little rant did was piss me off.
But alas. That is why we communicate.
Feel free to spill here anytime.
You still are on my list of people to commune with.
But go take a smoke.
Love
Me
You know…I am glad you are pissed. And maybe I am having a bad day. One of our kids died yesterday. But thank you for the advice. I am sure a cigarete will make it all go away. Prayer? What is that? I have been advocating that for over a year about what is happening in South Africa and do you know how many people stand united with us? Take a wild guess. Exactly 14. Yes Carlos 14. So Maybe when people look in the mirror and remind themselves that change happends when they make it rather then talk about it…then I might be a little happier. Whatever. I am not on any kind of horse. I am not entiled or angry. I am sad and worried at the state we are in. But thank you for your concern.
You are welcome.
And I’m sorry you are so bitter.
Actually no.
I’m not sorry.
It is good to see a bitter, pissed off “make it happen” person.
It makes me want to make change.
Just not like that.
Carlos
i was just sitting here thinking a bit more about kristi and how she’s reacting to the compassion blog trip.
it makes me tired.
i mean, we are never going to be a restored world until Christ comes back and redeems what’s His’. but we do have a responsibility to love people and pray for people, and i think that these short-term trips have far greater impact on people and the world than they’re given credit for fromlong-term missionaries. if it wasn’t for my short-term trip last year, i wouldn’t have fallen in love with those kids, became a sponsor, and now be pursuing a long-term trip (for when God allows). people need to go for a short-term so they can get a taste of what it is really like outside of the US and outside of our venti-triple shot-skinny-with room lives. and it takes people like kristi, like me, like you… to bring home the stories, pictures, videos, stories of what the world is like outside of that box we all live in. we’re not all called to the long-term thing. but more people will go short-term because other people. like it or not, we all jump off bridges together. and i am ok with short-term trips if it means further impact down the road.
seriously, you, anne, your wife, shlog, etc. have a HUGE opportunity that i will stand in prayer for you on as you go over to Uganda and blog about your experiences.
be responsible with this opportunity though.
reveal truth. bring home truth. but know what you see and experience is only tip of the iceberg.
much love to ya.
Well now I’m curious. And your WP just yelled at me for posting comments too quickly.
