16 Bloggers.
8 Days of Blogging.
1 Country.
Using our sphere of influence to change lives forever.
Join with us as we collectively travel to Uganda to blog about what Compassion International is doing for children 365 days a year.
Join with the children as they see how many of YOU will sponsor THEM when 14 bloggers focus on one single purpose.
To help change lives.

Compassion International is taking a step of faith. In a ground breaking move, they have decided to fly 14 bloggers around the world to enact change from our keyboards.
Children will touch your lives through our blogs.
Children who need you.
We all know that Compassion International has done a great job spreading the word through different artists around the world.
An artist plays some music.
An artist speaks on what Compassion International does.
An artist asks his or her fans to sponsor children.
Children get sponsored.

Compassion International also realizes that over 3000 people a day grace the screen of Ragamuffin Soul. You are REAL people. Over 10,000 a day grace the screen of some other popular blogs.
Son on February 10th…we will meet in Chicago…get on a plane…fly to Uganda…focus on change.

I just so happened to want to visit your blog (usually I just hit up my RSS reader) to find this! I’m stoked to finally see the secret revealed!

It’s awesome to know that huge rockstars and Hollywood actors don’t have to do something for the world to take note. Just a handful of bloggers and their communities should be enough to shine some light and spread some joy around, yeah? Can’t wait to hear more about how we can help!

(p.s. – Is it 16 bloggers or 14? And, check the link to Evangelical Outpost, oops, 404!)

I thought we were friends – not even a short layover in Cairo? Come on!

Actually, I wish I was coming too, especially as I won’t see you in Franklin this year. Go for it man.

I’m so excited for you guys.

When you said wrecked.. it reminded me of Lost. It would suck if you guys crashed on a deserted island.. who’s blogs would I read? Unless there was a tv show… now that’d be cool.

  4. JTCrespo 14 January 2008 at 3:48 am #

I can’t wait to watch this happen.

People sharing their lives to change lives…

  5. Scott Williams 14 January 2008 at 4:45 am #

You guys will definitely be wrecked, I’m looking forward to hearing about your crash…

I will be praying for your time together.

I am personally going to make sure this gets to at least 6 more people per day by double posting your entries on my blog!!

You’re bringing a video camera, right?

Nice. This IS big. Compassion International is a great organiztion and it’s awesome to hear that they are working outside the box to find new ways to bring the plights of these children to light.

My wife and I sponsored a young boy in Indonesia through them for quite some time and continue to hold him up in prayer. It was as great an experience for us as it was a help for him.

Thank you and good luck with this – we’ll be watching to see how it pans out.

go with a heart that is dangerously soft…

  17. Rachel 14 January 2008 at 6:34 am #

My hands are shaking at the thought. And someday, I would LOVE to do this. I thought to myself a few weeks ago, “If I could quit my job, travel and write for a living…I’d be happy.”

Not that I’m not happy now, just on a different level. Working toward the dream while living part of it, I suppose. :)

I’m very excited to hear about this!

  18. Kingdom1 14 January 2008 at 6:50 am #

  23. Tom Emmons 14 January 2008 at 7:39 am #

I noticed that the Compassion URL in the original post is not correct. The correct URL is http://www.compassion.com. Or, you can visit http://www.compassion.com/sponsor_a_Child/default to view photos of children waiting for a sponsor. You can even search for a child by age, gender, country, birthday, special needs and much more!

  24. Adam F 14 January 2008 at 7:41 am #

My brother was in Uganda with a Mercy Ship type operation and came back to the US last year. It wrecked him. So get ready…

i went with Compassion to Peru back in November, and it rocked my world. i’m on my way back from doing photography in Ethiopia this week, and that too rocked my world. i can’t wait to see what God will continue to do through the blogworld to bring about change. drink lots of coffee…it kicks major ace over there!

  48. Carole Turner 18 January 2008 at 7:33 am #

ok, I hadn’t commented yet because I just was so jealous of you all!

I participated in Displace Me and I love how much the church is stepping up to help Uganda.

Remember, the pressures on, you represent us all. We bloggers are known for saying to much and prostituting our lives for stats but you guys can show the world that we really just want to Rock the world for Jesus.

We are behind you all and yes, I think I can speak for the blogging world when I say that.

The really great thing is, when our new son Abel arrives from Ethiopia I can introduce him to your blog, show him your adoption story, show him how all you bloggers went to Africa to help and I hope it encourages him about his Continent, gives him hope for the other orphans over there.

    God bless.
