It’s humbling, I’ve got to say. Exactly 1yr ago this month we moved into a mobile home that someone generously sold to us for $5,000. You can imagine the luxury . Over the last year I have struggled with the frustration of wanting what I called, “a real home”. I now realize that home is what you make it. And that I DO live in the lap of luxury when you consider this precious family. Thank you for that reminder.
what do we do in response to this? I sponsored a child…but that just doesn’t seem like enough. How do I go on living my “American Dream” life in complete excess knowing that most of the world lives like this?
there is NOTHING that we need in this world except Jesus. absolutely NOTHING. it’s hard for us to see that living in the world we live in here in the States, but it’s made so so clear when you visit a place like this and see the true “joy of the Lord”. beautiful videos and stories, Los. love it!!!
dude, thanks for relaying what you see and experience in Uganda back to us! culture shock? amazing!

She has so little yet there is so much joy in her eyes…and in her smile.
ahh…I wish I was there.
yes, it is humbling.
man. I have more in one room of my house than she may have in her entire life. Humbling.
What a beautiful woman and child…what a beautiful narrative that you are presenting to people who would otherwise have no idea…
Thank you, again…

three main things:
- Christ loves her no less than you or me
- a sweet, humble spirit lines that home and village
- do we – americans – truly get what Jesus meant by the abundant life?
thanks, los. joy and i sponsor a girl in mozambique, and this trip has led us to seek the Lord on sponsorship of a child in uganda.
