I have been lurking on your blog for about 3 weeks now (finding you through the Compassion bloggers and crying every day), and I couldn’t keep myself in hiding any longer. I so wish you could have been here to hear my husband laugh uproariously at your post today (and last night when we watched the video clip). Hubs is a Mac devotee and suffers from iLust as well. Thanks for keeping it real and giving me laughter and tears. I’ve been blessed.
I think all the hype Apple gave the Macbook Air did it a disservice. It’s an ultraportable, and ultraportables are a niche category. It’s the same in the PC world. They aren’t for everybody, but it was introduced as if it was.
And I’m happy with my 6 month old Macbook…Out of date now, I guess, but it will get the job done.
I am an Apple apologist and I chose not to drink the Air Kool-Aid. My MacBook is a workhorse. I do think the Air is is a little ahead of it’s time.
I’ve heard Steve Jobs say … “If you can’t innovate, you must imitate.” Can’t fault them for trying to take it to another level – it’s just not an everyday machine.

Me too. I would love to have a macbook pro. I would also love to be a famous movie star. Can’t have everything.
Dang it…Ibought a Macbook 2.5 weeks ago shortly after my Dell (aka Old Blue) crashed. And now they upgrade. Ohhhh well. It’s still pretty slick!
Macintosh causes me to break at least 5 of the ten commandments.
When our Macbook Air is delivered to our house, I’ll let you know how terrible it really is.;-)

One of the guys on the team just strolled in from the nearest Apple store with a Pro in hand.
Consumerism at it’s best!
