re:create Your Weight

Posted on 05. Feb, 2008 by loswhit in Fat Ragamuffin

Last year when JRocka, Heather, and I came here I weighed 193 lbs. When I left I weighed 200.
Lunch and Dinner are provided by re:create and they spare no expense when stuffing our faces.
So we are taking this into our own hands.
I ran 2 miles last night b4 dinner.
Then this morning Heather, Tyler, Julie, and I went 2.5 miles.

I know that is not a stunning time by any stretch of the imagination. I used to run 3.1 miles with this guy in 17:15. Oh what 15 years will do.
I weigh 203 lbs right now and I am determined to be the first person ever to lose weight while at re:create.
Lord knows I won’t be eating prime rib at this time next week.

Nice work! I’m trying to decide whether I want to throw my hat in the ring and run a 15k in a month. You’re making it hard to say no!

Alternatively, you could think of this week as an extended Mardi Gras and let next week be Lent. Probably not so many culinary temptations…and yet, I hear the fried grasshoppers are really good…taste like french fries. :~)

Losing Weight at Re:Create in 2008. You have to ask yourself, “Can it really be done?” I have my doubts.

Wish I was there with you guys. Get my man up and running with you and send him back a little healthier.

    Hey man,

    I’ve lost 30 lbs since Dec 6, 2007.

Just eat really well the week leading up to the conference, eat what you want there, and then eat well the next week. It will trick your metabolism into thinking it needs to work harder again when you eat the junk at the conference, and then once its going hard you eat well the next week, and you’ll likely lose weight.

Are you still doing WW? I did get going again (thanks for the inspiration). You can do it! You know the deal… whole foods, plenty of veggies, a little treat once in a while, if you’re sitting to much just pace a little in the back… You can DO it!

Nice…I am actually trying to go against the curve. I am shooting to gain as much weight as possible in a given year.

I am looking to move from Fat Ragamuffin…to Obese Ragamuffin!!!! Wish me luck!

I’m still going to encourage you to go to my favorite Franklin place, Puckett’s Grocery downtown, for breakfast or brunch one of these days. You won’t regret the taste. The calories, maybe.

I don’t have time to read all the comments here so I hope I’m not repeating anyone. My advise….eat but before you eat cut everything in half or thirds. Enjoy the flavor but don’t stuff yourself. Love – GK
