I think we can do it.
And I think that Compassion International will take notice that the blogging community can actually make a difference.

Early yesterday, Selasie Quarshie from Ghana became a part of our family.
I’ve always felt a call to Ghana… after talking to friends who are missionaries there, they know his village, and are going to find him for me personally!!! I’m going to Ghana in a few months… I’ll be able to meet him probably! Very wild!

This has been heavy on my heart for a few months. Ever since I heard Way FM’s trip and their encouragement to sponsor a child. Lastnight, my husband and I had a tearful conversation about how we are blessed so we can be a blessing to others.
I cannot wait to get our packet in the mail and start to put a face to this name, and continue to pray for her and her family daily.

I’m single, not even dating, have no kids, and was feeling bummed about Valentine’s Day. God’s been tugging on my heart to do this, and I can’t think of a better Valentine’s Day present to give to Him.
My girl’s name is Christine, she’s turning 4 on Monday and is from Uganda. I signed up today (Valentine’s Day) and can relate to Christine’s comment, very much. Although I’m not really bummed about Valentine’s Day, I do know that my heart has been totally wrecked following you and Shaun on this trip. It was time to step forward…and here we are!

Signed up about 3 weeks ago – Shaun did a couple of concerts in the area. I’m the photographer for the artist who opened both shows for him – it’s been on my heart to do this for awhile, I shouldn’t have taken so long.
I chose an older child because I heard Mark Harris (I think) talk about how excited the older ones are when they get a sponsor because they don’t think it’s ever going to happen. I went through Shaun’s packets and found the oldest.
Now I need to get my parents and my brother’s family to do this!
