From Josh, my video director…

Here is the edited down version of our Good Friday service. This is about 17 minutes long. It was a lot of work but… a lot of fun to make all of the video and graphic elements for this service. We have never done anything like this before so it was cool to try something new. There was no “message” or live speaker. Just videos, music, scripture and instructions on the 5 screens. Anyway, here are the highlights. Did you see it live? Did it make you think about the reality of Good Friday? Did you connect? Any other thoughts?

A producers dream/nightmare.
I know a lot of you guys have waited patiently for this. It took Josh a while to edit this all down. I think it does a great job at showing the highlights.
Props to everyone who helped make this night an amazing night.
Los

Wow! That is one of the most powerful things I’ve seen a church do for a service. You guys continue to redefine what church is and can be. Thanks for sharing.

I’ve been patiently waiting for this. Very powerful. I wish there would have been some way that I could have been there live to experience God that evening during that service.

You guys at Buckhead know how to your your resources to help your church experience Christ in new ways.

Very Cool. Thanks for sharing Carlos.

Zack and I were there and it was hands down the most beautiful Good Friday service I have ever seen.

I’m not going to ruin it by trying to describe it with words.

Los, having come from our church to your new one, do you think that media is under used in churches?

Like you always said at Sandals, some of the best worship was in the tent. I hope beyond the awsome sets and productions **that I’d love to see in person** that you are still able to have “tent” moments above what you already must be having.

Nice Service. Very Creative and I could feel the emotion watching the video… glad Josh was able to use the blood drops I shot :) Tell the team it was incredible. God is good.

I was there and it was incredible. I was drawn to worship Christ and reflect on his death.

Thank you for the work you do.

Beautiful. Undescribable. God’s gift that is you and your team’s creative nauture astounds me. Every day I wake up and ask God to help me some way today point people to Jesus. You guys did that here, and you do it on a daily at Buckhead. Thanks.

I was there, and was in awe. In awe of God’s love, in awe of Jesus’ sacrifice and also that of his mother. I’m expecting a child in August, and sitting there imagining having to make that sacrifice… it was powerful and humbling.

I know how much work this service must have been, so thank you to all of the BC staff (even those like my husband serving in the parking deck!). The painting (especially at the end when “It is finished” was added) was especially moving. I really cherished the opportunity to not just celebrate the miracle of Christ’s resurrection on Sunday, but also the ultimate sacrifice that was made for ME on Friday.

    Hey Los,

We enjoyed the service a great deal man. I blogged about it earlier in the week here:

    Bro,

I would lie if I said I had dry eyes here, but man I was mesmerized and at the same time went through a whole range of emotions. AMAZING…

There is no words that I can express to say how beautiful that service was to me. I can’t even image what it would have been like to see it live. I just experienced the highlight video and I’m in tears. God is blessing all of you to come together and share who He is. I continue to say well done God and bringing these people together. You disciples of Christ are going to move mountains of hearts toward God.

Wow, that was just beyond amazing. I would have loved to have been there for the whole thing! I really like the part in the middle with the woman narrating…that was powerful hearing that story told in such a modern way. Just beautiful.

Will the entire service ever be posted online? Thanks for sharing this!

Great job! Absolutely tasteful, well done, well done indeed. You’ve definitely given me some ideas.

My favorite part is the audio from Mary’s perspective. It was just as chilling watching/hearing it on the computer as it was being there that Friday night. It’s very rare that we get a glimpse of what it must have felt like to see her son die. It reminded me of the fact that sometimes we really just don’t understand God’s plan and that sometimes His plan makes absolutely no reasonable sense. But if we just trust in Him, he always knows what is best for us.

It was a great service. Thanks for posting!

What was the song with the chorus that began “Everything I Need”? I’ve searched for that but can’t find it. The service was amazing. Even the edited down version lead me to worship right here at my desk. It is Finished!

  22. Dan 31 March 2008 at 9:16 am #

Brian, it’s “All for Love” by Hillsong United. It’s off their “Look to you” album. Hope that helps.
