How He Loves Us

Posted on 21. Mar, 2008 by loswhit in Worship Leading

This is one of those songs I wish I had heard while I was at Sandals because I hear Becca destroying this song. Like slaying it. Mauling it. Chewing it up and spitting it out. All in a good way of’course. Rob, if you guys don’t start doing this next week I’m flying out there and forcing you too. All those voices singing it in the hell hole of an acoustic room like the gym gives me chills.
We are teaching this to Buckhead Church on Sunday.
May God’s love fall fresh in that room this Sunday.

And for the back story, which is more powerful than the song itself, watch this…

Now go remember HIS death and
How He loves us.

This is crazy…I’ve been listening to this over and over all week. We’re doing the JohnMark McMillan song How He loves us on Sunday. Two of my friends are in a school of Supernatural Ministry out at Bethel Church in Redding California…where these videos are from.

Phenomenal invitation of the Holy Spirit. Love it.

So, I have been searching for something for next Sunday…I just e-mailed this video to our worship pastor. Thank you…it is exactly what we needed. I will be singing it in my head all day.

Wow – I am not an emotional person – I am not one to cry – but this made me weep.

    Who is this?

  11. the Rev 21 March 2008 at 9:52 am #

That’s Kim Walker from Redding baby. She kills it. Don’t know if you know…but I moved up here a couple months ago to go on staff with a buddy of mine from school. (www.thestirring.org) We did this song last week with this girl that leads at the Stirring…amazing!

Wow, I’ve got chills here. Great song.

that has always been the most incredible song. I remember I was maybe 50 ft from John when he told this and this hush just went over us. It was incredible… but we sang with everything…

    This has so blessed me.

Yea…we just did this a couple weeks ago for our college group “Elevation”. We had one of our guys singing it and he pulled it off amazingly. (We did have to change the verse about the sloppy wet kiss. Although very poetic, it didn’t fit into our style of worship) :) Good luck with it, it’s a great song!

Just charted it. Hopefully we’ll be doing it soon.
    Thanks brother!

JohnMark McMillan and his wife Sarah are incredible songwriters and musicians. I hadn’t heard of them until I moved to a small town in KY where they just happened to have friends and family.

I’m so thankful that JohnMark and this song are finally getting the attention that is well deserved. I could list my favorite JohnMark songs, but its easier for me to just stop gushing and say…go buy both of his CDs!
(His wife Sarah’s song “Sing My Love” is incredible!)

Thanks Carlos for introducing your readers to one of my all time favorite artists!

Love it we’ve been singing his songs here in Bakersfield, CA for awhile now at The Garden Community Church. I am wrecked when I hear “I Am A Temple” – YOU HAVE MADE ME CLEAN!!

Dude, where did you find this song! What church is that? Holy cow, I love it! Thanks so much for sharing this stuff. It is such a help to us fellow lead worshipers.
    Peace,

This song is so powerful in and of itself, but the story…….. I am speechless in the presence of our God.

    Wow.

check Kim’s stuff out at virb.com/kimwalker or myspace.com/kimwalker2
“I Surrender” messes me up every time.

She’s from Bethel Church in Redding, CA — ibethel.org
(while you’re at it, check out their video announcements at welovethebulletin.com — hilarious. the “24″ spoof is one of my favs.)

I’ve seen it a few times – I don’t know, I just don’t get it. I’m not discounting that the song is powerful or that God can use it for great things but I’ve seen lots of “wow!” reactions over the past month or so to this song and I’m just not there.

This song, especially when JohnMark sings it, reminds me of Glen Hansard from the movie Once.
Any one else, or is it just me?

  26. Los 23 March 2008 at 5:14 pm #

Yea. we did it today and it was majestic.

  27. beccity98 24 March 2008 at 10:36 am #

    Great song, great singer.
    I love her little “ha-ha”’s.
I should stop listening to it though, or else when we do start singing it at Sandals, I won’t be tired of it.

    Jesus saves AND kills?

  29. Lu 25 March 2008 at 10:27 pm #

Thank you. This is what I needed to be reminded of today. It’s on my iPod now, on repeat (and the video is posted to my blog too). Amazing.

And I love her “ha-ha”s too. They remind me of Keith Green; SHE reminds me of Keith Green — the energy and worship and passion… and the “ha-ha!”

  30. Tim Olson 26 March 2008 at 6:49 am #

Where and how do I listen to the song. I don’t see anything to listen to.
    Thanks
    Tim

    Helloo,

You have such creative posts, and I really enjoy reading them. My name is Ashlee. I am the Worship/Creative Director at Dialogue Church. The church plant starting in Muncie/Yorktown IN. I love watching videos that you post from your church. Hopefully you will read this, and I can continue leaving comments on here without you wondering who I am. I just made my own blog. It is completely pathetic, but I’m trying.

p.s. I love this song and we played it at our first service.
