Let’s Keep Link Loving
I have a pretty popular blog. At least in my circle. I’m not one to be unassuming. I try to make it that way. I work hard at this “art” called blogging. I enjoy it. People read it for various reasons…
They like me. They despise me. It’s been called a “car wreck, and you just can’t help but look”. It pisses off the liberals and pisses off the conservatives. It intrigues the liberals and intrigues the conservatives.
And I believe, because of all these reasons, every once in a while I write a post worth reading. No matter who, what, when, where, and why you are.
Yesterday was one of those days.
Let me also say hello to the 7000 plus visitors who came here via Andrew Sullivan’s Blog
Andrew’s wiki page says…
Sullivan is known for his unusual personal-political identity (HIV-positive, gay, self-described conservative often at odds with other conservatives, practicing Roman Catholic, and a non-U.S. citizen who focuses on American political life). He has said that he would like to become a US citizen but is barred because of his HIV-positive status
His blog is ranked 58th in the world out of 50,000,000 plus.
Unless the Pope turns Baptist or a woman or black man has a chance of winning the democratic ticket, a clearly evangelical writer with tattoos and pierced nipples (i kid, i kid) could never get into the top 100 blogs in Technorati.
Oh wait. Well at least the Pope.
So let’s give it a shot.
I’m proud of this little reality show called my life.
And I’m proud that every once in a while I swing and hit because of the power of people like Jefferson and Matt.
So I have no shame in my game and ask that if you enjoy reading in this little corner of the web 2.0 world, you link here.
Maybe one day we shall arrive to the top 100 and show the world what a community of screwed up Christians really looks like.
And if you desire, I’ll throw you in my rotating blogroll to the bottom right.
Let me know and I’ll kindly oblige.
Again. Thanks for coming by here.
I used to get laughed at for this blogging thing.
Now people ask me to teach them how.
Keep blogging people.
Every once in a while,
It actually works.
Los

Very cool and super inspiring post yesterday.
I’ve got you linked up.
I’d love to hop in the link rotation.
Haha Billy – I’ve been trying for about 9 months to get in the rotation…. no such luck yet – but maybe you’ll make it!
We love your blog. You’ve inspired us to have fun and just blog about life. Thanks for leading the way for so many of us.

LosWhit,
Seriously, I have been linking to you for a while and I have yet to be linked back, not to mention have my questions answered in your “You ask, I tell” post.
Let’s follow through with those promises, mate.
I’ve been following you and Heather for quite some time but never commented before. I check in with your blogs last thing at night (which as you can see from the time stamp, is really first thing in the morning!). I have two blogs: dancingthruherdaddysworld.blogspot.com and a brand new one at coffeeshopjournal.com. You are already linked on both of them, and I’ll do what I can to help you out! I REALLY want to see you in the top 100.
God bless you for all the amazing insights and thoughts and laughter and — yesterday — tears.
eh. I gave up on link rotation. But somehow hundreds still find their way to my blog each day. Don’t know how… lol…
Congrats Los. Seriously. You’ve challenged me so many times, someday I’m coming down to get a behind the scenes look at this multisite wonder.
You living life the way you do stretches my own expectations of myself. Seriously.
Keep contending brother. Your kickin’ butt.
Los,
My wife and I have been following you guys for a while from SC. Thanks for making us laugh hard and think twice.
http://www.phillippmodlin.wordpress.com
Dude, Sullivan link-loved you. This is quite possibly the coolest possible thing that can ever happen to a blogger. Seriously.
This is definitely been one of the most interesting blogs I’ve ever been to. I found it via the Viper site. I don’t know why, but I’m constantly drawn back to read, to follow your daily walk, to learn from you, to listen and look for God here on Ragamuffin. Honestly Carlos, this blog I believe reaches and has an impact on more people than anyone will every know.
Anyhow, definitely have linked you to my page, hoping others will be blessed the way I have.
As others have said, I’d love to hop in the link rotation. Give’n this Indiana blogger some love.
Keep on, keep’n on.
THanks for the thoughts. I loved his article and yours. I am a daily reader of your blog and love it! My advice to you would be (please don’t take this as a criticism, just my opinion) to stay away from the rotating blogroll. If people need their name on your blog so that they will put yours on theirs, they probably are in blogging for all the wrong reasons anyways. If you really like their blog, throw it up their.
You have a popular blog, not because you link up with lots of people, but because your life is interesting and you do a great blog.
I (or most other serious bloggers, though I hesitate to speak for anyone else) promise I will never go to your blog just to see who is on your rotating blogroll, but I will stop by to see the latest news about your church or some of the amazing things that happened to you today, because of the way you present those things. Brilliant! So anyways, just my thought, feel free to ignore, and I’ll go on reading your blog- but not because of your blogroll.
Hey man,
I knew once I linked to your entry yesterday it was gonna blow up. (hahahahaha, jk). Seriously, I’m glad it blew up, that was an inspiring post. Great blog … thanks for all you do. You know I’ve got the link love covered for ya!
Fred
I’ve got you linked on my blog, sending over my tens of readers everyday!!!
Congrats on the stats, pretty amazing, eh?! (Had to add the Canadianism)
I try to explain this blog world thing to people who don’t get it. I think it has a lot to do with yesterday’s post (for me).
Can I really get in you rotation??? Really???
thanks!!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
I hate to put in plugs for myself, but if you wouldn’t mind saying prayer or two for a reader of yours who is struggling with a mean form of cancer that has unfortunately metastasized — one with a sweet adopted 6 year old Vietnamese boy — I would be very grateful there, Los. Thanks.

Cool. You are in my blogroll.
Been following you and Heather since Africa. You went somewhere my heart has always been but physically couldn’t go. Thanks for the many adventures of Boodaddy. They keep us laughing. Your post yesterday was great! The picture alone could have said it all.
Lathamfam.blogspot.com
Big Los! Though my blog is in Portuguese and it’s not as popular as yours… you got a link there! And I am preparing a special translation of yesterday’s post.
this could be a really dumb question, but tell me America doesn’t really bar people from being citizens if they are HIV positive?
Hey Los you’ve been linked on my blog for a while now. I enjoy your sense of humor and creativity. Your blog makes mine look elementary. Honestly, I’ve been lazy and haven’t updated the look. But your blog inspires mine to be better. Thanks and keep it up.
Hey Carlos,
I definitely spend more time on this blog than any other non-work-related website. It’s (almost :0) always worth the read, and I appreciate what I learn from you and the folks here. More than anything, I come for fuel for the fire in me to see thriving, growing, life-changing churches in the three major cities I grew up in. Every time you ‘pimp’ what’s going on at NP, you inspire me to what can happen.
And even though you totally dissed me (”crap”? dude, it was just an honest question) in the comments last week, I still come back because I can’t help it.
So thanks, and for what it’s worth, I’ve been linking to you for a couple years now. I’ve never had more than one or two visitors a day from here, so I’m thinking I’ve never made it into the coveted ‘rotating blogroll’… would much appreciate it!
Keep at ‘em, and we’ll share some stories under a palm tree in paradise!
I found you through BooMama.
I figured if you were good enough for her, you were good enough for me. LOL
No really, I enjoy your blog and am here several times a week to check out your posts and your “Throwing Rocks at my BooDaddy” videos. Those are too funny!
I put you in my blogroll pretty much immediately. Don’t you feel special now? LOL Just kidding! Enough rambling.
Have a very blessed week,
~Rhen
How could we not link to you? Is that possible?
How could we not link to you? Is that possible?
I’ve been following the Whitaker blogs for a while – I see you all the time at church, but haven’t introduced myself. Anyway, I love you guys and look forward everyday to reading what you’re up to.
I already linked to you on my side bar… do you have a button link you would rather I use?
tarasviewoftheworld.blogspot.com
Yea boss, great story. Thanks for sharing. You’re already linked up on my site. Preesh the reciprocation,
cdenning.wordpress.com
Oh alright, you twisted my arm – I will add your little blog to my extremely popular blog
I really enjoy your “car wreck” of a blog – keep on doing what you’re doing. Glad to see that your blog went viral yesterday.
Los,
I am going to link you and the misses because I enjoy your fine work oh so very much.
That is all I got. Keep writing. If you do have lunch with Anne and Chris, give them my love.
Joe
You are already on my measly blogroll. I’ve been lurking and stalking for a while, since I accidentally found you through some adoption blogs. Dood. Yer awesome. You’re inspiring me.
DONE! Big Los Brazilian style… click on my name to check it out.
This is what the intro to your post says: “This post isn’t mine… it’s the translation of a very special post from the blog of Big Los (Carlos Whittaker, pastor of Buckhead Church). To me, this is the perfect translation of Ephesians 4:2 ‘with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love.’ and Romans 15:1… ‘We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves’.

I’m happy to note that you’ve been link loved for a long time. And I saw this story today and thought of you.
Los,
Great job on this post partially and on the hole blog. You truly showed the world the true meaning of what true authentic worship is. I am new to the blogging world and your blog is one i follow to learn stuff about blogging, life and faith. Keep up the great work brother and blessings to you and your family.
Happy
Gotcha linked.
You’ve been linked on mine for a little while now…so that’s gotta bring 2…maybe even 3 people over to ragamuffinsoul each month. You pretty much owe me your life. I’m willing to forgive that debt though. Your welcome.

Holy double comment batman.
I’ll take you up on the rotating link love opportunity…. I already have you linked on my blog.
http://www.tonychavezblog.com
I have been reading your blog since the Uganda trip – found you through Shannon (Rocks in my dryer). The posts that hooked me were “You Cannot Romanticize Poverty” and Compassion Video Update 7. I have gotten my husband (who is not a blogger) to watch a couple of the “Throwin’ Rocks At My BooDaddy – The Mini Series” posts.
I have lurked up until this point but I wanted to say hi and let you know I will link to ya. Good luck on your pursuit. ;o)
I have been meaning to put a blog roll/ link love on my blog for awhile, but I’m embarrassed to say I haven’t taken the time to figure out how.d to figure out.
I had to figure out the whole you tube video iMovie thing first, so that my mom could see her dancing crazy grand daughter.
So now that I’m 4 months into it, I guess it is about time. So you will and Heather will both be linked soon, under my “makes me laugh, cry, and say Amen” blog roll.
You are more than welcome to link mine, but I won’t get bent out of shape if you don’t. I have no goals of climbing the blog charts, because that would require spending too much time in front of the computer.
You however should! You are relevant and real. Christians need more people like you out there.
Keep it up.

You’re linked at my site – not sure if I’m in your rotation or not.
http://www.chrisfromcanada.com
wow! that’s great.
you’re linked on my site. have been for a while now
I would love love love to be linked on your site. You’ve been linked on mine for a long time, you’re one of my favorite blogs!
http://boffthewall.wordpress.com (Just Finding My Way) Awesome!
I read your blog because:
1. I miss you, the lil Korean, and the rest of your fam dearly, and it’s a way to keep up with ya’ll now that you moved to a land far, far away.
2. You post the most random, hilarious, thought-provoking crap I’ve ever seen.
3. You’re not afraid to be you…do I always agree with you? No. Do I lovelovelove you, appreciate your realness and read on anyways? Of course. Authenticity.
I love your blog and Heather’s. I have you on my blog roll!
I know it’s in Portuguese… I know you probably won’t understand anything, but show your Brazilian blogbuddy some linklove! :0)
http://www.marceland.blogspot.com
Actually, it has a tag “Learning English Singing”(Aprenda ingles cantando)… and I promise I’ll create a “Learn Portuguese Singing” just for my ragamuffin friends!
Thanks Los. Got you on the blog roll. Thanks for helping us out as well. Keep up the great work.
Had you linked from the get go. I’ll take you up on the rotating link love.
I saw you first on LA Ink and have followed your blog since then. I’m new to the blogging world – 5 months – but I’ve got you linked. I’ll take you up on the rotating link love as well.
Keep up the great work, I come by a couple times a day.
hey… I’ve got you linked on my blog… it would be great if you could link me here! I appreciate the love!
Big ups to you and this little space of the blogosphere. Much love and links from Valley of the Sun!
Dlake
Adding you to my roll; would appreciate if you can add me to yours. Love your blog; thanks!
http://www.bernardshuford.com
I linked you on my blog — love yours!
dude, you’re linked @ mine like 4 months ago.
If only I could get some new posts on it… maybe you should do a post about how the crap you post all the time! Is it insomnia? How do I get that?
Los, I’ve been giving you link love since I started blogging a couple months ago. Your site has provide me with a great deal of blogging inspiration. Keep it up. And…if you wouldn’t mind i’d love to get in your rotation. Thanks.
http://ananthologyofthoughts.wordpress.com
I’ll have my Pooh Bear link to you. I actually found your blog through your youtube vidoes of your Compassion trip. loved those videos! I then sifted through and read all and watched all about Losiah’s adoption, we adopted our Pooh Bear, Joshua, so I always love reading others adoption stories. I cried when his foster mom cried, saying good-bye, we had the same sort of moment with my son’s foster family, it was so hard and so touching, and we felt so blessed! I only commented after your post about Jefferson and Matt, you touched my heart once again with that one, since my son has special needs, and one he will be a man who needs those kind of friends also. Thanks for what you do, it makes a difference!!
You inspired me to start blogging and keep up on it from day to day.
Keep at it.
You rock.
You’re linked on my page… not sure how much that matters… but my 200 hits per day are yours LOL. Be praying for Kennedy… spine surgery soon… halo for 6 months after… she really is my angel.
