All I can think of are little Oompa Loompas leading in worship.

  4. portorikan 18 March 2008 at 6:02 pm #

Oh that was hilarious. I really needed that right now. Thank you.

I’d say a better title is why churches shouldn’t use electric drums.

regardless of wether or not that was live, it is an amazing click track. and by amazing i mean horrible.

  6. amyharris 18 March 2008 at 6:17 pm #

    Oh my.

  7. Duane 18 March 2008 at 6:18 pm #

    That is AWESOME…
We had similar (i’ll admit less embarassing) thing happen during a service last week…
When in the middle of a slow tune the loop for “All Because of Jesus” comes blazing through the speakers…(well maybe it is as embarrassing)

    “oh my” is right.

    oh my,
    DEREK

  9. Emily 18 March 2008 at 6:22 pm #

HA! That is amazing. What church was that? How did you find it?

  10. Allen Arnn 18 March 2008 at 6:27 pm #

good laugh… I guess there was no way to just “go with that” and make up a rap or beat or dance on the fly…

  11. Christopher 18 March 2008 at 6:32 pm #

Thank the Lord I wasn’t born a drummer.

  12. Kyle 18 March 2008 at 7:21 pm #

At first I wasn’t sure what it even was. To be honest I’m still not sure. However, it was funny.

  13. Brad Bretz 18 March 2008 at 7:45 pm #

    Ummmmm… priceless.
    never happened to me though.

    Click Track NIGHTMARES!!!
Seriously, I am rolling on the ground laughing, especially the Oompa Loompa comment!!!
How do you keep going in the moment when that happens?!?!

  15. carolyn 19 March 2008 at 4:15 am #

that is THE most obnoxious click i have ever heard.

  16. RiC 19 March 2008 at 4:18 am #

That’s reason #6 why I went back to accoustic drums. My TD6 also has that sweet click track. BTW, that was one fast meter. He must have been rockin’ at some point.

  17. Rita 19 March 2008 at 4:33 am #

Holy wow. That voice is just special.

  18. Bryan 19 March 2008 at 4:40 am #

That was so powerful and moving…
Tears just came to my eyes…
Mostly because I was laughing so hard…
But, I teared up and that’s what matters.
    Right?

That is why I absolutely despise electronic drums…for the sake of pete, people! Come on!

I do have to say that I am feeling a little guilty by the amount of pleasure I take in finding out things like that actually happen to people….(evil snicker)

  20. B Weave 19 March 2008 at 5:27 am #

Hahahaha! Ooompa Loompas… that killed me! I couldn’t agree more though. We drummers have far too many limbs flailing about to worry about hitting the right buttons.

  21. Clayman 19 March 2008 at 6:22 am #

And people complain about the occasional hum through our system…though we’re a capella

  22. Matthew 19 March 2008 at 9:06 am #

Hello! Who put the drummer in charge of something digital? There’s a reason we put them in a box with two sticks and a bunch of upgraded cardboard boxes to bang on.

  24. Red Byrd 19 March 2008 at 1:53 pm #

Oh goodness thank you! This has been a crazy day and I needed to just laugh out loud!

  25. Crystal Renaud 19 March 2008 at 11:44 pm #

  26. Dlake 20 March 2008 at 1:32 am #

Much love to Tommy! I feel ya bro! Your bad…

  27. craig 22 March 2008 at 5:11 pm #

    simply sweet!!
5 years ago, Boss DR-660, intro to “your Love O Lord”, drummer bumps drum kit knob from percussion to “rock kit one”…unfortunately the trigger for shaker is the bell of the ride cymbal…subtle would not describe the result…
