Ok, my link is above. The link has some pics from this past sunday.

We moved this past sunday from a nasty school cafeteria to a multi-million dollar Performing Arts Center in our area. The good thing is, for the first time ever, we have an actual stage to create on.

The bad thing? We are still a portable church and doing set designs as portable is TOUGH. We basically get 1 hour to set up whatever it is we want on stage. After our services, we have less than an hour to tear it all down and put it in a trailer…

THIS is my BIGGEST challenge week to week. How do we build sets that are portable and light weight, yet sturdy enough to withstand being shoved into a trailer and abused each week?

I’d love to hear from other portable churches who are doing some sweet set designs…

OK, gotta cheat and use the comments section since I presently am blog-less:

this past weekend, our focus was Christ followers being dispensers of hope for a broken world; that it takes everybody.

for the message, we had a lighthouse on stage that was about twelve feet tall. to get a truer effect of a lighthouse, we placed an elation inside the top and the window panes were yellow-ish gels. the downward aim and sweep of the elation plus the gel color created a phenomenal image.

Boyd – I like the idea of a looping video of your city. We introduced the song in our church a few weeks ago, but never thought of doing a video of our actual city. Great idea!

thanks, I think it’s a great idea to incorporate if you can.
I’d video some key locations that pretty much everyone will recognize instantly. For example, we filmed some good portions of the college campus, to put things a little more into perspective. (since this was done at our gathering for 20somethings)

we added some parts that some people might not have know. If you have any question shoot me an email.

Wrote my first worship song, and we played it last weekend for the congregation for the first time. It went over well, so now I’m enthused to create some more! :)

It is amazing to look at how far churches have come, in regards to the use of media. Chaos posts are proof of that.

I linked to my first posting for Creative Chaos. It’s about some art that we purchased from a local Baltimore artist and hanging it up at our church.
