I’m A Wuss

Posted on 24. Apr, 2008 by loswhit in Amigos

I don’t know what has happened to me. Since I have moved to Atlanta the color of my coffee has slowly changed.
When I landed here 7 months ago I was drinking my coffee like I like my women.
Strong and black.
(Heather loves it when I order coffee anywhere and say that. The waitresses usually look straight at Heather with a confused look on their face like…”Um, honey? You look a little latte to be his cup of coffee!?”)
So yea. Now I find myself pouring ungodly amounts of this in my coffee.
Photo 351
Sweet and nice.
What the heck?
I’ve lost it.
Help me get it back.
Anyways.
You?
Yea you. The one who never comments on blogs because you think somehow you will come to the dark side.
And you. The lady I met last night at First Redeemer who as I walked into the coffee shop yelled…”Hey! It’s Ragamuffin Soul. I read your blog!”
And you. The faithful commenters of my daily drip.

How do you take your coffee?

I like my coffee with a bit of half and half. If there’s no half and half then with some milk. If there’s no milk then just black. If there’s no coffee then I’ll just drink a Yoohoo.

I can’t handle the hazelnut cream stuff. Makes me a little nauseous…

I don’t drink coffee. I could never get to where I liked the nasty bitter taste.

    Now if we’re talking espresso’s I’m in.

Dude I quit drinking coffee 14 months ago. Caffeine was a bad addiction for me. Now I drink lots of tea, all decaffeinated. It’s a lot better.

    black, Strong ans sweet.

P.S. Community Coffee over Starbucks, community is fair trade.

  5. Jason 24 April 2008 at 6:26 am #

I like to tell my friends who put that coffee mate crap in their coffee… you might as well put that in warm water and call it a day

strong and black. that’s what they call REAL coffee.

come back to the dark side.

  6. Aaron Blevins 24 April 2008 at 6:27 am #

Ok, so I’m a wuss too.

    What? It tastes good!

  7. Ian Jones 24 April 2008 at 6:29 am #

The guitarist in my church asked me the profound theological question of how I like my coffee. My response could only be; I like my coffee like I like my women… hot, and in church (that’s not supposed to be dirty but it still sounds that way).

I like just a tiny bit of coffee with my French Vanilla…no…I didn’t say that wrong.

  10. hodge 24 April 2008 at 6:36 am #

I don’t drink coffee but if I did it would have to be sweet.

  11. steve 24 April 2008 at 6:40 am #

Tall pikes place. 2 raw sugars, half and half….and I just started adding cinnamon because I read in a health magazine it is a “powerful antioxidant” :)

  12. Phillip McCart 24 April 2008 at 6:40 am #

Lot’s of sugar and a dash of milk. Like, I mean a lot of sugar. I actually prefer a latte.

  13. Molly Moore 24 April 2008 at 6:40 am #

    Straight up BLACK.

  14. Todd 24 April 2008 at 6:45 am #

If you’re adding that junk that means that Buckhead needs to improve their coffee. If you’ve ever enjoyed tasty black java then slipping some artificial flavoring into your coffee means something is wrong with the bean, the roast or the brew.

Remedy this situation immediately. Not only are you harming yourself but you’re harming the planet when you dispose of those nasty, plastic coffeemate containers.

  15. Maren 24 April 2008 at 6:47 am #

I am guilty of the Coffee-Mate addiction as well. I actually got excited when the “Holiday Flavors” came out.

  16. Jason 24 April 2008 at 6:48 am #

I share the same addiction sir!

I learned to drink coffee in college when I was a jumper for UPS working for a woman who’s name might have been Helga, or Olga, or something and when I first got a coffee and put creamer I thought she was going to force me to wear a dress – so I quickly learned to drink it black as the darkest night – nothing like a little intimidation to motivate you.

Nowadays, in general, if it’s a good quality coffee than the darker the better. However, like Todd says – if I’m drinking the free stuff at the office then load it up with sweetner and creamer! Of course, if I’m doing a cold coffee then I doctor it up to the point of almost no recognition.

  18. samburke 24 April 2008 at 6:51 am #

I used to drink it straight black… but now I have to have sugar and 2% milk in it… I guess I feel I can drink more of it then.

  19. Marv Nelson 24 April 2008 at 6:53 am #

I used to be simply a little half and half…but NOW I love fresh ground Starbucks coffee with Creme Brule Coffeemate!! Dude, if you try the Creme Brule, you’ll NEVER do that French vanilla anymore!

    frozen and drizzled with caramel

  21. Brandy 24 April 2008 at 6:59 am #

I drink it with milk. And chocolate. And without the coffee.

    Oh right, that’s hot chocolate.

  22. Tracy 24 April 2008 at 6:59 am #

Flavored coffee is my staple. With like a 1/4 cup whole milk. And two sugar packets.

And today? Today I added some honey. Livin’ on the wild side, I am.

  23. Doug 24 April 2008 at 7:00 am #

Blonde and very, very sweet. However, my woman is brunette and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

  24. Jenn 24 April 2008 at 7:01 am #

The South is changing you. Next thing you know, you’ll be droppin’ Y’ALL’s, giving directions to Peachtree, and craving Sweet Tea and chick-fil-a.

The South is good. Pollen is bad, but the South, it is good.

  25. Brandi 24 April 2008 at 7:02 am #

Touch of cream/half&half/PLAIN Coffee Mate–whatever unsweetened creamish-like additive happens to be available.

And when I say a touch, I mean just a touch. Barely a splash. A titch. Basically I just threaten my coffee with the creamer.

  26. Scott Gaglardi 24 April 2008 at 7:03 am #

Medium Grande Black. When I was younger I wanted to drink coffee and the only way my parents would let me was if it had NO milk and NO sugar. I think they thought the taste would disgust me and I’d give it up but it backfired…I’m hooked on black coffee.

  27. phillip 24 April 2008 at 7:03 am #

I take mine with half and half and some sugar. I’m not into that flavored vanilla stuff.

  28. Naomi 24 April 2008 at 7:09 am #

man, I have never even tasted coffee of any sort.

I kinda wish I did. Seems like a nice thing to do.

Just cant get past the smell.

  29. JVo 24 April 2008 at 7:09 am #

    By the pot.

  30. Matt 24 April 2008 at 7:13 am #

I take mine as a Diet Coke. Great way to start the morning!

  31. gillie 24 April 2008 at 7:13 am #

I think they put crack in that stuff (Coffee Mate). I got totally addicted to its delicious creamy texture. I started using more and more and more. I think at one point I was putting about a half a cup in a large coffee, so I had to kick the habit.

Now I’m hooked on Red Bull.

  32. Rebecca Moon 24 April 2008 at 7:18 am #

i like sugar and decaf coffee with my cream.
but no coffeemate. fat free half & half.
or real half & half, if i’m feeling deviant.

  33. Michele 24 April 2008 at 7:25 am #

Ah yes, Coffeemate. It’s my, I can’t get to Starbucks right now, but this will do in a pinch, go-to guy. My refrigerator looks like a stock room for Coffeemate and International Delights. Seriously, that stuff is awesome! I love the White Chocolate Hazelnut kind.

  34. Red Wine Gums 24 April 2008 at 7:28 am #

Coffee is of the devil. I honestly don’t get what ye all like about it. It’s horrible stuff. I fall into the bracket that doesn’t like the taste of caffeine whether it’s in Coke or coffee. Can’t stand the stuff.

Are ye all going to pray for my deliverance now?

I also like my coffee like I like my women – strong and black. Although my wife is more latte than black as well. I used to like half and half in mine but about a year ago I started smoking cigars and now I only like it black. The cigars changed my taste buds.

  37. Karen 24 April 2008 at 7:42 am #

  39. mark 24 April 2008 at 7:44 am #

I like to think that at any moment I may drop to the ground dead because of the clogged arteries I may have due to the amount of cream & sugar I like in my coffee…grande coffee with room (room enough for me to put a mac truck in my cup if I want to).

I know I’m a wuss! What can I say, I like my coffee like I like my woman…a little tan and really sweet!

  40. alex mclean 24 April 2008 at 7:45 am #

I too am a wuss. First off I don’t really drink coffee, and when I do it’s like half foo-foo creamer and half coffee, with some sugar if available…

  41. Heather 24 April 2008 at 7:45 am #

    i think you’re whitty.

    strong and black.

  49. Tammy Marcelain 24 April 2008 at 8:17 am #

I drink my coffee with anything except a “nutty flavor”
My favorite is half and half with raw sugar, but second favorite is in the blue bottle you are holding, Coffee Mate Vanilla, yummy.

I drink alot of tea also, no bags please, only loose leaf, then I add a packet of Stevia to that, dreamy.

  50. Stray Dog 24 April 2008 at 8:18 am #

Black is the only acceptable way to go. Turn back to the dark side.

    And the correct quote is:

I like my coffee like I like my women: bitter.

  51. b/ 24 April 2008 at 8:18 am #

I say the same thing, “Just like my women, strong and black.” Most people have to respond “looks like you poured the cream and forgot to add the coffee.”

But I one week every three to four months where I put stuff in my coffee. And then I’m back to strong and black for another three to four months. Its random. But for the most part I like the spoon to stand up, you know, that point just before you can chew it.

  52. Paul J. 24 April 2008 at 8:30 am #

Coffee is almost sacramental to me. Especially since my father died. When I was little, the main time I got to spend with my dad was early in the morning…he’d read the paper and have coffee. So I’d sit with him…and way too early in my life, he would pour me a cup.
To this day, I love coffee, and I love the newspaper. And I miss my dad.
Oh…2 or 3 sugars, with half and half. Just like dad.

  53. Jake 24 April 2008 at 8:31 am #

    Black…dark black…strong black…BEAUTIFULLY BLACK like my daughter! http://www.facedownworship.com/daughter.html

  54. Rachel 24 April 2008 at 8:37 am #

It depends on where I am. I’ll drink it black I’m at Shades of Brown in Tulsa. Usually I get some frou-frou drink if I’m at Starbucks. But, by far, my favorite coffee is from Fido (or Bongo Java) in Nashville. Never tried it black there, but their specialty drinks are killer.

I guess my tea habits are more consistent: black tea, flavored creamer, and a bit o’ sugar.

  55. rebecca 24 April 2008 at 8:39 am #

    Coffee,

Earl Grey, now that’s the ticket. Teaspoon of sugar, level, not rounded.

    i don*t.
    i don*t like it.

  57. DJ 24 April 2008 at 8:41 am #

I have steadily moved away from the “Coffee Mates” of the world because as I have become more of a coffee snob I feel it gets in the way of my good stuff.

So I do a bit of sugar and a bit of half and half, just to calm it down a little.

Side note: the new Pikes Place Roast at every Starbucks is the bomb!

  58. John Ireland 24 April 2008 at 8:43 am #

Don’t like the real stuff usually…if I do, it’s LOADED with sugar and cream. I guess I like it like I like my men: sweet, lightly tanned, and rich. Ha.
However, I do frequent St.Arbucks almost daily for my usual: grande iced white mocha nonfat/no whip. :-)

  61. Stephen Barry 24 April 2008 at 9:03 am #

One of Three: Hot Americano (early morning drink), Double Tall Nonfat Latte (if I am hitting sbux around 10am), and my 5pm work kickstart (Triple Espresso over ice)

Dark roast with lost of cream and raw sugar.

  66. lynse leanne 24 April 2008 at 9:16 am #

I love your site!! I found you through Travis and I always get a laugh. Today was great!! My husband loves coffee almost as much as he loves me. His big thing is that he fell in love with me because of the way I smelled(I worked at Starbucks),drinkin’ coffe next to a girlfriend who smells like coffee and something chocolate for dessert-yeah I had him at Hello!!
Anyway, welcome to GA I know it is better because of you and your sweet family. Oh! and I agree with Aaron-your family picture ROCKS.

Answer to your question-I don’t drink coffee-been pregnant three times in the last four years and Tea is just the safer way!

I do the Coconut Creamer from Coffeemate… you haven’t truly lived till you’ve mixed coconut and coffee. Seriously.

    No, seriously.

  71. Paloma 24 April 2008 at 9:28 am #

The trick is to sprinkle cinnamon in with the grounds before brewing. Then you get the yummy flavor without the weird dusty texture!

Beyond that… I like it brewed strong, then with kindofalotof sugar, and some half&half. Lots of flavor all around!

The flavored creamers taste weird to me most of the time and I think they have a waxy texture/aftertaste.

  72. Melissa Merkel 24 April 2008 at 9:28 am #

I say that I like my coffee like a hot milkshake. Very sweet, very creamy.

I prefer the Hazlenut creamer…but I wasn’t a coffee drinker until I came to work at Buckhead. Now, daily brewed Caribou Coffee waiting for me?

No brainer why I now have a caffeine addiction at this point.

  73. Marlow 24 April 2008 at 9:39 am #

dude…c’mon…you gotta be kidding right? this is a joke I hope.

drink coffee black for two weeks and you will never go back.

  74. tony sheng 24 April 2008 at 9:42 am #

no coffee but i keep meaning to start. i keep meaning to start drinking coffee and beer…. oh well eventually…

but orange juice early and late in the day – tropicana pure premium.

  75. Emily 24 April 2008 at 9:47 am #

I drink my coffee with enough cream and sugar and chocolate that it no longer tastes like coffee.

  76. beccity 24 April 2008 at 9:49 am #

Don’t like coffee and can’t handle the caffeine, but my hot cocoa is rather complicated.
1 heaping spoon ghiradelli’s chocolate mocha
1 heaping spoon nestle rich chocolate cocoa
1 heaping spoon land o’lakes raspberry cocoa (they only come in single serve packets, so about half of one)

Add to boiling water in favorite Hello Kitty mug, add dollop of milk for creaminess instead of boiled water taste.

Take to work and be so busy I forget to drink it, then pour slightly sour smelling concoction down drain at end of day.

Seriously, it tastes absolutely wonderful, when I can remember to drink it.

  77. Karl Fisher 24 April 2008 at 9:50 am #

    regular coffee:
    black, from a press pot

    flavored coffee:
a little sugar, from a press pot

    espresso:
breve mocha – regular milk’s got nothing on that…

    so there.

  78. Allen Arnn 24 April 2008 at 10:00 am #

Half and half, one pink packet and four sugars in a grande. I’m a wuss too.

Sometimes I even put extra sugar in a Starbucks mocha.

  79. Rita 24 April 2008 at 10:01 am #

strong and with 2 teaspoons of sugar and heavy cream. Yes, heavy cream. It’s awful for you, but in as much as I drink coffee (which is once a week at best), I think I can get away with it!

  84. April 24 April 2008 at 10:19 am #

I, like several others, like my coffee loaded with cream and sugar. Starbucks is a favorite and I always get some variety of Frappuccino.

  85. Chris 24 April 2008 at 10:20 am #

I used to drink wuss coffee, but I have slowly come to appreciate good coffee, and hate to waste good coffee by putting crap in it. But it really does depend on the coffee. At the most, I put a small amount of half and half, and maybe two sugar in the raws. At the most.

  86. Lisa 24 April 2008 at 10:22 am #

    1. Komodo dragon Beans from Starbucks

    2. Ground fresh on “fine” setting every morning

    3. 2 1/2 T per cup marking on coffeemaker, not actual cup.

    4. Poured as soon as it is finished being brewed

    5. Ungodly amounts of powdered coffeemate original
powdered creamer until is is a lovely shade of caramel like I wish I was. No generics, they are sweeter.

    6. One pack of splenda.

    7. Enjoyed before eating breakfast if possible

    8. In pretend starbucks cups with lid from grocery store, b/c I hate dishes.

  87. Mark Jaffrey 24 April 2008 at 10:22 am #

    First thing in the morning:
two cups of Kenya AA made in cafetiere (French Press) with filtered water, one sachet of Splenda and a drop of milk.

    Any other time:
A tall Americano, only just white, with two Splendas, from Cafe Greco, Road 9, Maadi, Cairo, Egypt. Nothing else comes close, not even your Starbucks stuff.

    Hey Man,

Artificial creamers are terribly unhealthy man. Most of them have hydrogenated oils and other wild ingredients that were never intended to be in your body.

Go black and never look back. (or put whole ingredients in your coffee like real milk, soy milk, etc.)

  90. Matt 24 April 2008 at 10:36 am #

DON’T DO IT MAN! stay black… stay true…

  91. nate davis 24 April 2008 at 10:39 am #

ha…seems to be the day for coffee post. I asked this morning what brew folks like.

I started with lots of sugar and flavored creamer. As I go, my coffee is getting darker and way less sweet. I still prefer flavored creamer over sugar and basic milk.

  92. Anna 24 April 2008 at 10:40 am #

I’m 21 years old and I still don’t like coffee. I have tried, believe me. My Scandinavian heritage dictates that I should take it strong and black. :) But I like nothing but fancy-schmancy Frappuccinos and the like. I wish I could develop a taste for it.

  93. Brian 24 April 2008 at 10:43 am #

With lots of half and half and sugar. I tried to cut back when we were doing the Weight Watchers thing. Tried to go with one tablespoon of sugar and one of half and half. Didn’t work. Gotta have two of each.

Once when we were fasting, I knew if I didn’t drink coffee in the morning that I would be a zombie with an intense headache by 2pm so I tried it black. Made me want to vomit. Better to have the headache and take a nap in my office.

  94. Erica M. 24 April 2008 at 10:44 am #

AHHH this is my first blog comment!
I am more of a hot tea girl. I drink hot tea for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Green tea and hibiscus cranberry are my favorites.
I have never liked the flavor of coffee.

  95. Samuel 24 April 2008 at 10:47 am #

Its got to be black, fresh and from a french press…A good quality roast (no Starbucks!!) is essential, but I’ll settle for almost anything if it isn’t flavored and if it is fresh.

  96. Bryan Sheppard 24 April 2008 at 10:48 am #

  103. Deneen 24 April 2008 at 11:15 am #

Skim milk & splenda. Light but not too light.

  104. Sarah 24 April 2008 at 11:16 am #

    I am a cameleon
    Sometimes black
    Sometimes 2 pink things
Sometimes 1 pink thing and 2 hazelnut creamers
    Sometimes a white peppermint mocha

Really, I’m all over the place

  105. Keith 24 April 2008 at 11:16 am #

As Jars puts it, “you ask me about creamer, you ask me about sugar. I tell you those things make me sick.”
Unless it’s after dinner, of course. Then a little of each. “In my Ooh, ooh, ooh, good coffee, strong coffee.”

  106. Michele Bennett 24 April 2008 at 11:16 am #

cream and lots of honey….cause i want my coffee to be sweet like me. :O) ha ha.

  107. Robin 24 April 2008 at 11:19 am #

Gotta agree with Todd, It’s all in the quality. At work, when they make tar, YES cream and sugar, at home with my sumatra, black. Mmmmm

  108. Nick 24 April 2008 at 11:31 am #

Never got into coffee, I was always a Coke-a-holic, now I’ve kicked that habit.
Tried Starbuck’s a couple of months back, not too bad, but it was loaded with milk and sugar, so I guess I take mine with a lot of milk and sugar.

  109. Susan 24 April 2008 at 11:52 am #

freshly roasted, freshly ground, and black

  110. Elissa 24 April 2008 at 12:08 pm #

Typically I like my coffee the color of my skin (oh, and I’m white… VERY white) except when I’m drinking it with dessert in which case I like it strong & black… which apparently means I like my dessert coffee like I like my men… sweet!?

  111. Janny 24 April 2008 at 12:11 pm #

    Ummm, I don’t drink coffee…

  112. scarlett 24 April 2008 at 12:21 pm #

Hi Carlos, I never comment, but I want to say hi, I miss you and love you guys! And I always prefer a soy chai to coffee!

Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks (Scott Hodge is our pastor – you have to love Starbucks if you attend The Orchard)

  114. Angela 24 April 2008 at 12:33 pm #

Lots of milk and sugar (sweetener is okay) in Dunkin Donuts coffee…

  115. Monotheist 24 April 2008 at 12:40 pm #

There’s nothing wussy about flavoring your coffee with the sweet nector of the gods…

  116. Cristy 24 April 2008 at 12:52 pm #

Big mug, packet of Equal, splash of milk. Times three.

  117. Brett 24 April 2008 at 12:52 pm #

half a teaspoon of milk… just a dash. That’s it. mmmm.

  118. Melissa 24 April 2008 at 1:00 pm #

My mom used to tell people she liked her coffee like she liked her men “light and weak”. It especially used to tick my brother off, because he fits both criteria! :)

My husband likes coffee, period. Light, dark, cold, hot. I’d sooner run out of food here than coffee…and I’d hear less complaints if I ran out of food.

  119. Donnie 24 April 2008 at 1:15 pm #

Today it was Dunkin Donuts coffee with Italian sweet cream coffee-mate – new flavor!

  120. Tony Chavez 24 April 2008 at 1:19 pm #

I’m a wuss too! Tons of sugar and flavored creamer.

  121. Sean Pritzkau 24 April 2008 at 1:19 pm #

i like my coffee how you used to like your woman.
but I do use the caramel creamer when the green room treats me to it.

  122. ruthanne 24 April 2008 at 1:24 pm #

if your making it at home black with 2 sugars – if there is creamer available i do enjoy that but don’t need it. At starbuck i lean in the other direction. Quad Venti Non-fat Toffeenut mocha not whip.

thats what i like – judge if you must –

Los – just found out we have some mutual friends!

  125. Shannon 24 April 2008 at 1:33 pm #

I am sad to report that I don’t drink coffee…yes I know it’s a sin and basically I’m not considered American! But I do love me some Hot Chocolate and that I take straight up, haha

  126. Christina Ellis 24 April 2008 at 1:39 pm #

I’m not supposed to drink coffee right now, but usually I like french vanilla creamer and sugar. Just enough so it doesn’t really taste like coffee anymore.

  127. mariana 24 April 2008 at 1:56 pm #

a little bit of milk and one or two sweetnlow thingies… but really, I prefer tea. with milk and sweetnlow, too.

  128. Brooke 24 April 2008 at 2:00 pm #

A dash of milk and a splenda. Simple yet delish!

  129. dionicio 24 April 2008 at 2:08 pm #

More Importantly…..where do you buy your v necks? freakin awesome…What brand?

  130. Linda Sue 24 April 2008 at 2:10 pm #

My goodness you have some truly picky coffee drinker readers – I am a Texan my coffee in the morning is black, strong and early. Later on in the day – I might slop a tablespoon of real cream into it for sustenance. Coffee isn’t for wusses – cowboy up ‘los! (that was all malarkey – I do drink my coffee black most of the time but when I’m out someplace – a bit of cream and kahlua doesn’t hurt my feelers either!)

  131. Bella 24 April 2008 at 2:24 pm #

So, I would really like to know if you read all these comments?

My coffee: Dutch Bros. Milky Way extra sweet! Mmmmmm.

  132. pam 24 April 2008 at 3:43 pm #

Folgers half caff with the very same creamer as you’re holding right there. I make four cups in my Gevalia and drink them two at a time or in one big latte mug.

  133. becca 24 April 2008 at 4:20 pm #

umm even after working at a coffee shop – with marvelous flavor for the coffee – i take my cream with a little coffee.. don’t know why except that i love tasting rich creamy stuff. hmmm

maybe someday i will enjoy strong and black too…

  134. Dustin 24 April 2008 at 4:56 pm #

I don’t drink any coffee. I can’t stand the taste. I want to like it, I really do but I just can’t do it.

  135. John Mc 24 April 2008 at 5:22 pm #

Oddly enough, kind sir, I was rummaging through the “coffee supplies” we have in our office at the church today and found the exact same ingredients. Usually I’m just a one-packet-of-splenda-guy, but found myself thoroughly enjoying the french vanilla.

  136. Chelsea 24 April 2008 at 5:56 pm #

With a load of chocolate and some peppermint. Otherwise coffee is disgusting. Especially Starbucks coffee — they burn their beans.

  137. drewC @ HK 24 April 2008 at 5:58 pm #

Coffee Mate is Bad for YOu Los~ made out of Coconut…~ better find a substitue~

  138. Reese 24 April 2008 at 6:08 pm #

I use Coffee Mate (liquid only!), but I can’t stand that French Vanilla flavor, if it’s all there is I use just a drop. “Vanilla Chai Spice” is my favorite flavor, or as I like to call it, “heaven in a coffee cup.” Hazelnut is also really good. I use a bit of that and two CUBES of sugar.

  139. Shanda 24 April 2008 at 6:22 pm #

I really like the dunkin’ donuts french vanilla, white chocolate mudslide creamer (liquid only), with a little redi whip on top…it’s my dessert.

Starbucks, it’s always a white chocolate mocha or a honey frappuchino.

  140. jen 24 April 2008 at 6:57 pm #

1 Tbsp of sugar and lots of French Vanilla creamer (liquid only)

  141. Susie 24 April 2008 at 8:26 pm #

I am all about Hazlenut creamer and splenda. Yummy!

  142. a.m.g. 24 April 2008 at 9:59 pm #

ohhh how i love coffee! :) lately, i go straight for a latte. 2% or whole… whatever is the standard where i am. with a touch of hazelnut syrup. if i’m drinking drip coffee – just a little splash of cream. no sugar. i love how many people have responded!

  143. JSR 24 April 2008 at 10:48 pm #

Low fat creamer no sugar. French Vanilla? Yuck. I’m from GA and that ain’t no GA thing.

  144. Judy 25 April 2008 at 1:43 am #

    YOU’RE a wuss???

Chemo look my love of coffee away. :(

I’m now an uber-wussy tea drinker. But I don’t put my pinky finger up when I drink it. So there!

  145. Jesse 25 April 2008 at 3:51 am #

Frozen, with milk and chocolate in it.

  146. Wood 25 April 2008 at 4:36 am #

Usually take my coffee black, but I changed jobs a year ago and now WORK for Nestle selling Coffeemate, so I try all the 29 different flavors and we just came out with three new ones:Tiramisu, Italian Sweet Creme, and Hazelnut Biscotti. Love the thoughts on the blog. Im a big fan of the ragamuffin gospel, love your transparency!

  147. angela 25 April 2008 at 5:03 am #

i worked for st.arbucks for 2 years sooooo i drink my coffee black, BUT i have to get something to accent the taste of it and bring all of the flavors out, so i always have to order or grab something to bring the notes to play on my tongue. anyways ……

    yeah

  148. Brandon Teer 25 April 2008 at 6:17 am #

I’ve given over to the dark side as well and I’m a CoffeeMate fan as well although mine is of the Hazlebut variety.

  153. Patty 25 April 2008 at 9:53 am #

No coffeemate. Evil stuff once I read the ingredients.
Now I stick to stevia and soy milk. Mmmmm.

  154. bigdaddyjer 25 April 2008 at 10:52 am #

I can’t get the consistency right with Coffeemate. Give me some half and half and a little Splenda. BTW … that stuff will make you a Fat Ragamuffin.

  155. Brandi 25 April 2008 at 12:26 pm #

with LOTS of that stuf…..like a WHOLE LOT of that stuff…..and maybe some sugar in the mix

  156. tom 25 April 2008 at 12:55 pm #

starbucks is the mcdonalds of coffee. nothing good comes from them.
coffee based- dark roast. Black as the ace of spades
expresso based- breve mocha w/ an extra shot.

  157. Renee 25 April 2008 at 2:28 pm #

Don’t even know if you care anymore;) but i have to agree that it MUST have something to do with your beans! Get BETTER coffee! Try http://www.landofathousandhillscoffee.com !! Fair trade and it helps the Rwandan widows that survived the genocide, and its just straight up really good coffee.
Besides that I am almost taking it black, very partial to half and half, but the color of my coffee has to be dark, and one level sugar.

  158. randy 26 April 2008 at 4:35 am #

nice, glad to see someone has some good cheep taste as well

  159. gretchen 26 April 2008 at 6:18 am #

I love that stuff-have you tired the fat free version…it’s really good. Also, the sugar free french vanilla is good if you can handel artificial sweetners. I say-go for it with the delicious creamer. In fact, I might make this my next love to love it blog entry.

  160. Heidi Reed 26 April 2008 at 10:43 am #

Just found you thru MercyMe. Such a cool blog!

Anyway, I load my coffee with that crap too. Plus a packet of Splenda. My fav flavor is the blueberry cobbler. Yumm!

I don’t drink it. Does that make me more of a wuss than you?

  162. pinkcamojeep 26 April 2008 at 1:09 pm #

I like my coffee in a cup.

Actually, I only drink it in the winter – it
keeps me moving when I’m in “hibernation mode”
and I prefer it with hazelnut coffeemate. yum.
And it’s probably closer to the color of Whittaker Woman’s skin than yours is, Los.

  163. Crystal Renaud 26 April 2008 at 10:52 pm #

liking ‘em darker and darker these days.

  164. jill 27 April 2008 at 4:27 pm #

I read your blog every so often and have never commented, but I’m a sucker for feeling like the person is typing to ME with those “hey you’s.”

But I digress… My mother saw adding anything to your coffee as a sign of weakness, thus I inherited this particular taste. I am, however, not above ordering a nice iced latte or caramel macchiato at Starbucks should the mood strike.

(Now, I’m glad I chose to comment in such a profound way… Ha!)

  165. Jack 27 April 2008 at 5:07 pm #

Most of my best memories revolve around a cup. My wife says I’m a coffee snob. I drink it anyway possible 24/7. I prefer fresh beans, fresh ground, Black. But I’ll take whatever your pouring!

By the way, we are beginning the adoption journey! Love your thoughts on your son’s birth mom on his 2nd B-day!

  166. Joni 28 April 2008 at 6:38 pm #

I’d like to thank Scott Hodge and The Orchard personally for addicting me to coffee. Yes I’d experimented now and then with a little Latte here or Mocha there. But all hell will break loose now if my kids don’t get into their classes in time for me to head back to the coffee bar for a cup of chocolate sauce, steamed milk, whipped cream and a little bit of coffee.

  167. Racer 1 May 2008 at 10:33 am #

Sugar Free Vanilla Caramel creamer…mmm…heaven on earth. Unless we’re going to Starbucks. Then my most fave is the Iced Caramel Macchiato. Not mixed up. Because then you go from super sweet to creamy milk to the taste that is espresso….deliciousness.

  168. Chadwick 3 May 2008 at 7:03 am #

I can’t drink the stuff. Coffee is nothing but burnt water to me.

But a Starbucks Chai Tea Latte – now we’re talkin’.

You know – I realized just now when I just wrote that out, that somewhere along the way I lost my manhood. :)

Time to cowboy up – Coffee…Strong and Black from now on. Thanks for giving me my manhood back.

Hello webmaster. I think you could also make more of it through a bigger exposure about \”  I’m A Wuss\”. Perhaps you can have some kahlua chocolates ingredients.
