I love how it switches to “rock band” mode and suddenly the guy is wearing sun glasses.

  2. Corbett 8 April 2008 at 7:41 pm #

yeah, the laser tech is cool, but the musicianship seemed about as challenging as hitting the “fill” button on a casio keyboard with a drum beat going. Didn’t seem to be much “creating” going on.

JAM SESSION & MORE COWBELL were my favorites. I dig on how the guys changed outfits each segment. And the dancing! Oh, the dancing; reminded me of me at homecoming, ‘87.

I’m going to have to go with Thumper’s mom on this one.

    Hmm…

Nothing to do with your post, but you had over 500 comments on one blog entry. That is ridiculous!

    Nicely done.

It’s like a modern twist on a thermemin. Cool.

  7. Brody 9 April 2008 at 4:34 am #

The gay duet at 2:13 is funny.

  8. Jarrett 9 April 2008 at 4:52 am #

I’ve never been more proud of White People.

  9. gillie 9 April 2008 at 4:55 am #

    More cowbell…HAH!

  10. Linda Sue 9 April 2008 at 4:55 am #

Not a bad price (checked on Amazon.com) since classy iPods are near that range – somehow doesn’t have the beauty in appearance of a grand piano and full orchestra but no doubt the wav (pun here folks) of the future? Thanks for sharing – I agree with Jarrett – definitely not a soul thang.

The guys sunglasses on the “one person rock band” where over the top.

  12. Dan 9 April 2008 at 5:20 am #

This is hilarious.. I love the gratuitous sunglasses when the rock segment begins. Also how they’re all so serious as if there’s actually talent involved.

  13. Chadwick 9 April 2008 at 5:32 am #

That’s pretty cool. Even the musically illiterate among us could learn to play. Wonder when we’ll see one of these “at a symphony near you?”

  14. Jamie 9 April 2008 at 5:58 am #

    Boooooooorrrrrrrriiiinnnnnngg.

“Be A Hero”!? I almost missed that snipe because i was so focused on how fast his fingers were flying on that lead. That video is marketing at its best.

  16. evan 9 April 2008 at 6:02 am #

    crap.
i started watching it and couldn’t stop.
    im late for work.

  17. dionicio 9 April 2008 at 7:02 am #

Though the video is cheezy, and I’m sure the sound samples are a bit cheezy makes this thing very cheezy! BUT if you take it and manipulate it with your own custom samples and custom sounds and mix it with an awesome live band then you have a really cool Trigger Pad. It hooks up USB so i’m sure you can trigger in Ableton Live. If it was presented by Mute Math or David Crowder Band, everyone would be all over it. Can’t wait to see what you guys use it for at the BuckHizzle.

JamSession, “Look we can play each others, how cool is that”

  18. Abs 9 April 2008 at 7:12 am #

    ummmmmm……

  19. Chris Green 9 April 2008 at 7:43 am #

    Finally…something I could play well.

  20. West 9 April 2008 at 7:53 am #

GAY! Dude…come on..they’re like mopeds…fun to ride until a friend sees you.

  21. Crystal Renaud 9 April 2008 at 8:25 am #

i don’t know how i feel about the only girl in the clip had the caption “everyone sounds good” as if “even women can do it”.

    umm… gay. all of it.

  22. Steve 9 April 2008 at 9:03 am #

Ok, it’s kind of cool…but needing a skill set “off the charts”? I don’t see it.

  23. Steve 9 April 2008 at 9:07 am #

Oh, I get it, Los was being sarcastic, right? From the Sharper Image site:

“With the beamz, there should be no performance anxiety at all because — whichever beam you break, in whatever sequence — your music is guaranteed to be harmonious. All discordant chords and sour notes have been programmed out so everyone plays great.”

No skill set involved at all, it seems.

  24. Christian 9 April 2008 at 9:49 am #

The little guy at 2:44 is a dead ringer for Matt Redman.

  25. Loran 9 April 2008 at 10:00 am #

I can see it on QVC right now.
Maybe Joan Rivers will pimp it?
    Los….you in?

  26. Jeff M. Miller 9 April 2008 at 10:07 am #

I think my IQ just dropped 10 points. Thanks for that.

  27. travis spencer 9 April 2008 at 11:14 am #

i’d rather watch a guy play the kazoo.

  28. Pat Callahan 9 April 2008 at 2:00 pm #

I thought the funniest thing about this post was the video. Turns out it’s the comments of the people who don’t get the joke.

  29. Crispy 9 April 2008 at 2:41 pm #

Finally I can perform that Jamaican jazz symphony I’ve always wanted to.

  30. Shaun Groves 9 April 2008 at 2:56 pm #

So, let me get this straight. They took the sounds from a 1975 Wurlitzer Fun Machine and cross-bred them with a Wii. Wow. What an ugly sounding bastard child they’ve created.

But it’s new! different! and cutting edge! so I’m sure it’s coming to a church near you..and you…and you…

  31. Jabulani Jonny 9 April 2008 at 6:17 pm #

The gay-ety of it astounds me. And no, it’s not gaiety that I speak of.

  32. dionicio 10 April 2008 at 8:04 am #

Joke was gotten…..just giving back some sarcasm. It worked, ask PAT CALLAHAN

  33. amy 10 April 2008 at 8:56 am #

    That one made me laugh…HARD

  34. Adam 10 April 2008 at 11:05 am #

    Wow…uh…wow.

Sound like a Casio pro by triggering someone else’s music.

My fave was Quiet Reverie where the dude looks like he is pouring out his soul through his pre recorded cheesy MIDI music.

That and the fact the when the Asian gal gets up, the music gets all “Asian.”

Still, I would totally use this for triggering big hits and samples.

  35. BryanG 11 April 2008 at 1:01 am #

The guy at 0:53 is easily the best. Caption should read, “Stunna shades not included”.

  36. D Rho 11 April 2008 at 11:46 am #

Barack Obama should by this for his “typical white person” supporters.
