Mi Noche
It was supposed to be an easy night.
Heather took off to B’ham for the night to hang with a friend and I had my 3 kiddos who were supposed to be asleep by 7:30.
I don’t know what happened.
Losiah hurt his right arm somehow and won’t move it. He is not in pain unless he moves it but has begun to move it a little more throughout the night.
Luckily we have a RN living with us and she calmed my fears.
Whatever you do, don’t google “Toddler with limp arm”.
About 3 minutes into my research he had some Arabian fungal disease.
I think he just sprained it somehow.
I laid down with him until he was fast asleep all the while ignoring my other 2 princesses.
I told them they could sleep with me and, well, they are.

It has been a pretty rough night without my bride but I think I have it covered.
Man their heads are heavy.

Hope Losiah is back to normal in the morning!
Your girls are too precious!! I love that pic!
Webmd.com kicks googles butt when it comes to diagnosing injuries!
I diagnosed my appendicitis on WebMD. The doctor didn’t find that funny though.
If he still won’t move it in the morning it may be Nurse Maid’s Elbow. He’ll need to see his doc to have it twisted back into place. It’s pretty common in toddlers. It happened to my 3 year old when my husband was swinging her around in the air by her arms.
i was just gonna say maybe it’s nursemaid’s elbow…since leia had that happen twice that’s kinda how she acted…she didn’t cry too much if she kept it still (beth’s right, it is very common) and the last time we went to the dr. for it, he showed us how to fix it ourselves if it happens again. if i was there, i’d show ya, but i’m sure alyssa knows about that. hope his arm feels better soon. poor baby.
I concur with Beth. Same thing happened to my son at 3. We were playing around and he started crying…didnt move his arm. We watched for a while…then took him to ER…twisted back into place…all is good. I’m sure your roomate nurse is up on all that.
Carlos – I love your posts. It’s rare if I don’t laugh out loud when I read your blog. Good stuff. How is Losiah’s arm today?
Definitely Nurse Maid’s Elbow. Our two girls both get this. It usually happens when their arm is pulled on by someone or they are picked up by their arms. We used to have to take them to the doctor to get them to twist it back into place, but now Steph (my wife) and I can both do it…it’s the strangest thing and really scared us at first…but now it’s no big deal.
poor kid. I hope he feels better!
and that is such an adorable picture! you have beautiful children. and they sure look comfy with their papa! cute. you know it’s a good sleep when the cheeks are smushed!
Nursemaids elbow it is. Happened to my 3 year old 1 hour before I had to go to our Christmas eve rehearsal. My wife took him to the ER and then they stopped by afterwards to show me his arm worked again.
No big deal, unless your 3 and your arm hurts when you try to move it.
dang….I would never want to google that…..oh my….poor guy….my older boy got a blister from the monkey bars….how do you make a popped and bleeding hand blister NOT hurt? can you ask your RN room mate?
Good thing daddy has a soft belly.
