see the ending i was expecting (maybe i watch too many movies) was the Lion mauling both those guys. I’m not sure which version would make me vomit more, the real or my “alternative ending”. Quick – someone make a dvd special edition.

It wouldn’t have been so bad without that freaking Aerosmith song.

  3. case 27 June 2008 at 6:59 pm #

hahaha….i kept waiting for it to attack him and eat both of the dudes…
that would have been way more poetic!

    nice post sir

I was sure the lion was going to maul those guys… man I’m let down!

  5. Meghan 27 June 2008 at 7:19 pm #

    Okay.

So, maybe it’s ’cause I’m a lady and all but I actually teared up. I thought that was lovely. Not the Aerosmith song part, or the cheesy “You just got this from someone who loves you bit” but the actual reunion part, that was sort of…sweet.

    Who’s a dork?

    (raises hand)

Raising hand, Meghan, that was so sweet!!

  7. Brian Baute 27 June 2008 at 7:34 pm #

Someone needs to cut this video in with some Siegfried & Roy tiger-attack footage.

  8. jaysten 27 June 2008 at 7:40 pm #

i was waiting eagerly for dude’s face to get mauled. (wrong)
i’d love to buy into the whole lovey reunion thing but i’m with los, get a bucket.

note to self: never raise a panzy lion. ever.

  12. jessica 27 June 2008 at 7:58 pm #

Sigfried & Roy in their late teen years….Pre-Vegas

  23. Tony Steward 28 June 2008 at 1:04 am #

The best ending would have been if the lion ran right past the guys and mauled the camera man…

  24. Scott Fillmer 28 June 2008 at 3:16 am #

yep, I was pretty sure the lion was going to just eat those two on the spot…

Sorry for the super long post, but this video made me think of this story…

In 1986, Peter Davies was on holiday in Kenya after graduating from NorthwesternUniversity.
On a hike through the bush, he came across a young bull elephant standing with one leg raised in the air. The elephant seemed distressed, so Peter approached it very carefully.
He got down on one knee and inspected the elephant’s foot and found a large piece of wood deeply embedded in it. As carefully and as gently as he could, Peter worked the wood out with his hunting knife, after which the elephant gingerly put down its foot. The elephant turned to face the man, and with a rather curious look on its face, stared at him for several tense mom ents. Peter stood frozen, thinking of nothing else but being trampled. Eventually the elephant trumpeted loudly, turned, and walked away. Peter never forgot that elephant or the events of that day.
Twenty years later, Peter was walking through the Chicago Zoo with his teenaged son. As they approached the elephant enclosure, one of the creatures turned
and walked over to near where Peter and his son Cameron were standing. The large bull elephant stared at Peter, lifted its front foot off the ground, then put it down. The elephant did that several times then trumpeted loudly, all the while staring at the man.
Remembering the encounter in 1986, Peter couldn’t help wondering if this was the same elephant. Peter summoned up his courage, climbed over the railing and made his way into the enclosure. He walked right up to the elephant and stared back in wonder. The elephant trumpeted again, wrapped its trunk around one of Peter legs and slammed his stupid ass against the railing, killing him instantly.
    Probably wasn’t the same elephant.

That song made it hysterical. I also thought Bo and Luke Duke would get mauled. ROFL!!!

  27. Steven 28 June 2008 at 4:42 am #

Take note. This is what happens to a lion after watching Oprah. Sick world.

  28. Scott McDaniel 28 June 2008 at 5:22 am #

  29. RachelB 28 June 2008 at 6:39 am #

Ok, I gotta say… I was TOTALLY with Meghan up there!!! I totally teared up!! I too, was waiting for the lion to maul the two guys, mostly ’cause they both had such atrocious hair-dos. But then he actually jumped into their arms and was hugging them. He missed them!! His daddies… ok, that’s a little weird. But I stole this video and put it on my blog, too. And then I cuddled a little longer with my kitties last night on the couch… just sayin’…

  30. Molly 28 June 2008 at 6:58 am #

my mom sent me this earlier in the week and I cried out loud…but I have a thing for Lions.

  31. Laura 28 June 2008 at 7:32 am #

that was soooo disturbing … ugh. I was waiting for that thing to bite someone’s head off. Needless to say, I was a little disappointed.

  32. Kari 28 June 2008 at 8:51 am #

  34. chris 28 June 2008 at 11:26 am #

I was hoping for the mauling too. It just would have been the perfect ending.

  35. Renee Garcia 28 June 2008 at 12:12 pm #

I’m just glad I’m not the only one who teared up! LOL

  36. Crystal Renaud 28 June 2008 at 6:07 pm #

How many early christians met their maker after being martyred by lions in the Colosseum at Rome?

  39. Kat 29 June 2008 at 7:45 pm #

Okay, Molly Moore’s story about the elephant is hilarious!!! Did anybody read that?! Kudos my friend. It was worth the read.

  40. Doug 29 June 2008 at 8:45 pm #

I’m an animal lover, and don’t mind the song. Lose the caption at the end.

Yep, I teared up and remain unashamed.

  41. Larry Boatright 30 June 2008 at 11:48 am #

Man, there must not be a ProCuts in Kenya…

  42. Gabriel Mcgee 1 July 2008 at 4:49 pm #

I’m with Meghan, scrap the song and the “I got this from someone who loves me” or whatever, and that could be a great video!

    Funny story Molly Moore!
