I had a HORRIBLE WEEK of running.
I was scared to death of today.
While in SoCal I ran twice.
My 3 mile run turned into a 2 mile run and my 5 mile run turned into a ONE MILE RUN!!!
Needless to say I was not in top shape for this mornings ten mile run.
Double Digits.
But alas. The 4 weeks prior had not left me alone.
I finished it strong and feel great.
I decided not to do the scale this week because it was so demoralizing last week and I feel AMAZING right now.
Thanks for keeping me accountable.
5 weeks ago I almost vomited after 3/4 mile.
Today I ran ten.
You guys are the truth.
Your Turn…
Go back to that week one link and encourage everyone not to fall off the wagon.
Chatter…
Los

I’ve gone to once a week on the scale, and it has helped. I used to weigh-in every morning, and that could be demoralizing after a bad day. Of course, gaining 1.3 lbs in a week is demoralizing too! Back to the eating right. Maybe I’ll exercise this week.
Okay no weight loss stayed the same, but that is better than gaining. I am looking for a running/walking partner in the Baton Rouge area. Go to my website to comment if you know someone or you are that someone who would like to partner up in running/walking.
Thanks Los for keeping this going it really helps.
OH COME ON CARLOS! YOU HAVE TO GET ON THE SCALE!!!! My husband is teasing that he won’t join the challenge now since all you have to do is “feel good”. tee hee… We all go up and down… come on fearless leader… we know that you’re gaining muscle due to running as well. How did the eating go this week? That had to be tough since you were in CA too huh?
This is when it starts to get tough… everyone needs to be careful to not get down and slow down… we need to keep the excitement going and “bring this challenge on”! Here’s to next week!!! Bring on the numbers!!!!! (So, did you really not get on the scale, or just not video it? tee hee…)
The fact that my body ran 10 miles this morning is proof enough that things are changing.

And I weigh 198.
Lost 2.5
I couldn’t resist.
Congrats Los!!
That is amazing. Keep it up Los!
Los…
Thata boy! Way to go!
Now, go and harass my husband at his blog that he’s trying to loose weight BEFORE he enters the challenge!
As a runner let me say, “Way to go!” Running 10 miles is a great accomplishment. Stay the course. You will be amazed at what you will do in the weeks and months to come. Enter a few races to get juices flowing even more. You don’t know me, so let me introduce myself. I am Tracy Barnes and am one of the pastors at Fellowship Church in Texas. I oversee our Fort Worth campus. I am also a runner, running with the Flower Mound Striders.
Great week everyone – keep up the pace and we’ll make it through this.
I’m at 504 hours and counting of no carbonated beverages. Anybody else feel like they are finally on the verge of kicking this coke habit…
This week sucked!! Or maybe it was just me. Whatever! For 2 weeks now I have weighed in the exact same!! Come on! Ugggg!
I have lost inches but not weight. Weird!
So I stand here ashamed and in need of some REAL loss. I need exercise, not just calorie cuts. I need God cause I can not do this by myself.

Great run! I hope one day I can do that…:-) I added my link. I thought I would finally really get started. Thanks for this! ~:-)
Well, shoot, now I HAVE to go step on a scale!!
Got in my exercise, need some water. Avoided buying pop. Mentally, my head feels good. And that’s HUGE for me. So, yeah.
Still losing weight, but oh so slowly. Hubby has lost his belly already. Sigh.
My goal for this week is some exercise. Any exercise.
Have a great week everyone! It’s amazing to see all the encouragement. Keep going.
Awesome, Los! Congrats on your run.
I’m out of town for the next 3 Saturdays, so I’ll be video-less for a couple of weeks, then I’ll be back and better than ever…. I hope.
New to Ragamuffin Challenge, and chronically dehydrated. I’m going to be drinking at least 32 oz of straight water a day. Here I go!
Where’s the list?
Nasty week as far as exercise.
Los,
People are starting to blog about your non-scale weighing tactics man. A good laugh at your expense. Ok ok, I did it too. I can be honest.
We need to see numbers man! We know you feel great but we need numbers!!
Get on it! And maybe we will not joke at your expense.
Maybe. lol

LMBO..i just found out what a muffintop was a few weeks ago…and now your doing a challeng on it! That’s funny!
Got some exercise this week…but no weight loss. Hoping to kick it up a notch this week. Carlos, you are inspiring!!!! Way to go on that 10 mile run!
Okay I’m jumping on this band wagon. I’ve picked out a half marathon in Atlanta on Thanksgiving Day. I started my training this morning, a 3 mile run/walk to get my knees caught up with my gusto. I’ll give myself plenty of time, but i’m going for:
180lbs by Sept 1st
Half Marathon (13.1 miles) by November
I’ll add more running related goals as I go. Here’s to community weight loss clubs!
only lost one pound this week, but still lost. ran nine miles today. the first six, i averaged about 11 min. per mile. the last three i think my average went up to 13 or 14…mostly thanks to the last mile being the jog-segment from hades. next week’s long run is 11 or 12.
good job man. keep it up.
Not a bad week here. Really started riding my bike more. Here in Nashvegas we’re having weird low humidity and lower afternoon highs. It makes for amazing running, cycling, or name-your-favorite-outdoor-activity weather.
Keep up the good work ‘Los
A little late this week… but I posted!
Just getting to posting since I’ve been on vacation. Not a good week. Eating well and exercising on a regular basis is hard, on vacation is nearly impossible!
I’ve officially joined the challenge. My nano will be here on Thursday and I have the Nike + kit. Thanks Los for the challenge.
Peace.
