Creative Chaos

Go HERE and HERE.for the rules and explanation on how to be involved in this post.
Every Thursday YOU write a post on your blog as to what creative element, secret, process, whatever took place in your life the past week or month, or year, or decade.
Music, Art, Video, Production, Scripts, Sermon Illustrations, Design, ect. You get the vibe.

My entry this week in our planning board.
We have 4 boards that look like this with 2 Sundays attatched to each.
At the top we have the Date.
Then the service elements.
They are all on post cards so that we can easily remove, change, crumble, throw any element we would like to at any time.
This seems like the easiest idea in the world yet it is absolutely essential to our planning process. It makes the meetings flow much better and best yet…
They can each be taken off and taken to another location if we would like to meet somewhere else.

Simple yet Solid.
That is how I like to plan.
Your Turn…

in our creative teams we do something very similar. Except each card is an element that we usually have, such as song 1, song 2, song 3, prayer, teaching…. then we have blank space to add in creative ideas.

I did this because our team would reach the end of a creative meeting, have a ton of ideas, and then blankly stare at the wall as I asked where we fit everything.

Throw a couple of magnets on these silly cards and life seems to get a little easier.

Los, have you ever crumpled up and thrown away prayer or communion? If yes, how did it feel to make the Baby Jesus cry?

I love the board idea and would love to hear more about how you start using something like that and what the particulars are.

I think our CAD department would greatly improve from such a process.

we’ve used very similar methods. Do you know of any websites or training instructions on how to use this method? I know it’s different for everyone…but I’m looking to educate myself on other potential systems.
    Thanks

The simplicity is beautiful and it’s very inexpensive. But it could get lost or ripped up. I’m just sayin’…

Anway, if you like that kind of thinking, I think you’ll love MindManager for Mac (or PC). http://www.mindjet.com. I’ve been using it for over two years and find it indispensable.

    Keep the thought train rollin’,
