Los, I don’t know what prompted you to link to this old post this week but it couldn’t have been more perfect. I was leading worship today with other things taking up time in the service, leaving space for… well, I’ll let you guess how many songs! And yes, it was amazing.

I’m a worship and young adult pastor and literally just had this conversation with or young adult band leader yesterday. I believe with you it can and should happen if the leader is to ready to lead. Less is more. Deeper is better. The thing we have to remember is to be sensitive to where our peeps are at and be patient in love while teaching how to worship. Good stuff as always my friend.

when the stand is on the set list it’s pretty difficult to ignore God! one of my all-time favorite worship songs.

I have a real hard time with the phrase “God showed up”. I don’t think God does show up, since he’s everywhere all of the time. Saying He showed up indicates an absence of Him in the first place. I think a better phrase is “We finally tuned in to His presence”.

Awesome story, crazy thing is we did 2 songs today! We felt like the Lord was leading us not to mess around and enter His presence. The messages have been on prayer in a series called “Point of View” and we have been experiencing a new refreshing of the Holy Spirit in the services. When God is moving it soooooo important that we do not place Him in a box called the way we do things. We need to stay open to what He wants, not what our preference is! Love this discussion!
