Nap

It’s Sunday afternoon.
It is thundering outside.
Raining cats and dogs.
I’m sitting in a recliner in the corner “Airport Lounge” on the top floor of Buckhead Church with giant windows on both sides of me.
I’m about to take a nap that will slap most of my naps mamas.
Here is my perfect nap setting.
Cool. Blanket. Dark Skies. Thunder. Rain. Lots of Windows.
How do you like to nap?
Los

When I first started teaching, I was an assistant at a preschool. I was so tired for the entire year that I used to go into one of the unused rooms during my lunch break, lay down on my back on the bare floor, and sleep solid for 40 minutes. Every day.
Cold, ceiling fan, blanket, background music…..
ummm tv on, small couch pillow and iphone of my chest
Cold, under blankets, no noise besides the pouring rain, in my pjs, and with nowhere to be for the entire afternoon. And I’d like the sunshine breaking through the clouds to wake me up….or a really good looking Godly man with hot chocolate chip cookies and milk. I’m easy to please:)
umm .. anywhere, anytime! (grin).
I’m missing my Sunday afternoon nap because Lappie (my MacBook Pro) isn’t behaving, backing her up, wiping clean the hard drive, and doing a fresh install of Leopard.
I prefer a DARK ROOM, ceiling fan on HIGH, AC turned down LOW. No noise, no TV, no music.
I love napping in jeans and a t shirt on a soft bed, neither hot nor cold, storming with sunshine peeking through the blinds.
Ah, I might go do that now…
Naked on my roof.
blanket, outside on a breezy day. i can’t listen to music when i try to sleep because my mind will never stop sloshing around ideas.

No napping for me. I’m afraid I might miss something extremely important…
Or… wait… last saturday on the couch, suddenly fell asleep, woke up to the sound of our little girl crying, had a terrible headache…
Going to bed now.
Nice sundayafternoon to all of you on the other side of the ocean.
On the couch with the TV on in the background.
Summer Sunday afternoon, in my freshly made bed, under the sheet and cotton blanket, t-shirt and no pants, white noise machine set to “ocean waves”, light from the east-facing window only. Not that I’m particular.
I always think I want to nap, but then when I lay down I am so busy worrying I just go on and get up. A character flaw…
On the daybed out on my screen porch, where sky and trees are the only things I see outside… helps when it’s either raining or even a slight breeze is blowing, which ever so gently orchestrates such a soothing wind chime melody.
on my bed….fan on high… under a light blanket…head buried in a pillow……ahhhh..sleep. sounds good right now.
outside! in college i used to nap on benches around campus. iPhone playing coldplay and sunglasses on.
I’ve had maybe a dozen naps in the 10.5 years since my kids were born. I would sleep on the cold, hard floor if it meant I could have a nap on a regular basis!!! But ideally in a hammock. Or at the Westin Hotel. They have very fluffy comforters.
I prefer to be horizontal. lol That’s my only preference… but I can sleep sitting, or lieing down, in noise, in quiet, cold, hot, ceiling fan … or not… in the car …… you get the picture. I can nap anywhere.
Dang. These comments are making me tired.
Dude, white athletic socks and jeans?
Your nap weather is keeping me in Indianapolis in non nap mode. And keepin me from a In-n-out burger.
I can relate to Adrienne’s story. This year I would escape to the empty SERT room in my school during my preps and squeeze in a nap. However, I tried to take a nap once during lunch in my staff room and I woke up wrapped in toilet paper like I was a mummy. Who says students are the only ones who pull pranks? My staff is always pulling pranks like this on each other so it makes taking a nap at work difficult.
However, I’m also a HUGE fan of taking naps on Saturday afternoons while “watching” a college football game. There’s something about having my window open and the cool fall air hit me while I’m keeping warm on the couch in a cocoon of blankets. Doesn’t get much better than that!
Just give me a nap. Anytime anywhere! There are some nasty old couches in our youth room that are comfy. Maybe gross but at about 4pm I can be known to sneak in there and take a “sleepy”!
Doesn’t really matter to me. Bed or couch. TV no TV. Although watching Nascar can put me to sleep in like 5 mins. Its the best.
funny you should ask–I’ve recently written about it here!
mid afternoon after a long day of production team volunteering under my warm blankets with the fan on high and my pillow wall shading me from all the light. its awesome…
Yeah, the couch with tv on. Golf is perfect. Nascar is not bad either (unless there’s a good wreck).

I’m jealous … that place looks beautiful.
Ok — here’s honesty for you.
My perfect “slap all nap’s mamas in the mouth”:
After some wild sex with my husband.
During a rain storm of hurricane proportions.
In my bed, blankets up to my neck, with both feet sticking out, on my 800 thread count sheets, and my fans on.
Top that!
15 words into the sunday paper, basement, cool, dark, cave-like…call me batman
Following a glass of wine or Corona — on the couch with a golf announcer voice in the background
bed, blanket, dark, often
In the fall on Sundays with pro football in the background. Nothing like it.
