i think it should be a requirement for every worship leader to read these.
they are definitely a bit of the inspiration for my latest post.

http://infinitelypossible.wordpress.com/2008/08/13/thoughts-that-accompany-yawns/

(yes, i am trying to get blog hits. but i also want to get people to think)

as a [young] worship leader, i definitely get pretty egotistic at times. i think the biggest thing that i have realized is that its not about how high i can sing or how well i play the music. i'm just presenting another avenue that GOD can reach people through. it doesn't matter how good or bad i am as long as the congregation connects with the words and gets something out of it other than a catchy tune and a great performance. of course, those are great ways to get people to pay attention, but once you have that attention, you need to know what to do with it.
this is turning into a small blog post in and of itself, so i think i'll stop now. ha

I'm a little hesitant too and I've been in church ALL my life. But it's been mostly straight-laced fundamentalist Baptist churches. Churches in which I spent many, many years thinking that I had a relationship with God. Turns out I didn't and now I do.
