That's pretty much how our family works, though. I'm the 2nd of 6... at this point, my parents are just exhausted. It's not "Are you bleeding?" that gauges the seriousness of any given flesh wound. It's more like "How much are you bleeding? ...well, can you drive yourself to the ER?" I like to think that I'm a tougher kid for it. Oh, bless his heart! This happened one time after we got married and my husband who never dealt with nosebleeds (except due to football injuries or fights) ripped the sheet off my face as I was trying to explain to him to get the sheet wet first.
