My New Love – Tye Tribbett

Posted on 05. Oct, 2008 by loswhit in Music

Welcome to the reigning champion on my most played playlist in iTunes.

I have wore this record out.

Check out TyeTribbett and his Greater Annointing choir

If I could find a video of his I Want It Back song you would be watching that right now because that is the song that is owning me right now.

Who is at the top of your iTunes “Top 25 Most Played”?

Andrew Osenga – Let Us Know You* off of his FREE LP! (www.ilikeandy.com)

*I just reset iTunes in June, so the play count was lost and therefore it’s not completely accurate to what I listen to all the time, but the song is in fact great, as is the album!

all I’ve been listening to for the past week is mixes of our album. Other than that, Public Enemy, Ed Young podcasts, Raconteurs, lil Stevie Wonder, and the new Chris Cornell…

I love Tye Tribbett and GA! It’s been a long time since I’ve seen them. But at the top of my playlist would be Mushaboom by Feist. Followed closely by Home by Zero 7.

I don’t use itunes much, but I had a great time hearing and singing a medley of How Great Is Our God and How Great Thou Art. As for regular music, tops on my list today is Edwin McCains “I Could Not Ask For More” but only because it was our first dance at our wedding reception exactly 7 years ago today.

I have been stuck on John Mayer’s Live…Where the light is… I love that line in Gravity..”Keep me where the light is”.. i broke into that line once in worship… got some strange looks but it has been requested many times since then.. but the top on my list is “In my atmosphere”…love the line “where ever you go…whatever you do… i wonder where I am in my relationship to you…” Great line… the dude can play the guitar

  19. Annalise 5 October 2008 at 9:08 pm #

“The Baudelaire Orphans”, from the “A Series of Unfortunate Events” soundtrack. The whole soundtrack is lyric-less, which is ideal for me when doing homework and such because otherwise I’d get distracted by the words. There’s not many complete instrumental albums out there, so I listen to this A LOT :]

  20. amy 5 October 2008 at 9:08 pm #

GOd of this City by Chris Tomlin is pretty high up there and

  21. dorothy (vicar of vibe) 5 October 2008 at 9:09 pm #

    That was really great…
    My top plays:
Consuming Fire (Third Day), this is worn out, in fact I think I’ll play it right now…
    Exalted (Yahweh) (Chris Tomlin)
    King Without a Crown (Matiyahu)
    Handlebars (Flobots)
I need to start finding some newer tunes…

I’m such a sucker for these music list posts. From my Top 25:

First of July — Foy Vance
    Coconut Skins — Damien Rice
Welcome to Jamrock — Damien Marley
    Messiah — Phil Wickham
    Bamboo Banga — M.I.A.
    Volver — Estrella Morente
    Djin Djin — Angelique Kidjo
Nearer Blessed Lord — Nina Simone
We Fall Down — Donnie McClurkin
    Paris, Tokyo — Lupe Fiasco
Jenny Don’t Be Hasty — Paolo Nutini
A New Law — Derek Webb

…and, to add my .02 to the Cold War Kids songs — my current fave is also “Hospital Beds.”

  27. Wil Martin 5 October 2008 at 9:39 pm #

    “Straight Lines” by Silverchair

  28. Joe Louthan 5 October 2008 at 9:59 pm #

    Top 5:

All Consuming Fire by Misty Edwards
You Are God Alone (Not A god) by Billy and Cindy Foote
Come Thou Fount by Gateway Worship
    Desperate People by Hillsong United
O Praise Him (All This For A King) by David Crowder Band

Yep, I am one of those weird dorks who listen to worship songs all the freaking time. Like CCM gets no play. It is worship and more worship.

Usually even then, I will just play one or two songs. Most of the time, it is some sermon by Piper, Keller, Driscoll or Chandler or one of the sessions from Reformed Theological Seminary from iTunesU.

  29. Joe Louthan 5 October 2008 at 10:01 pm #

    Oh yea. More Gospel please.

Beauty in the Breakdown – The Scene Aesthetic

  31. Beccity98 5 October 2008 at 10:39 pm #

All for Love by Hillsong United. Played 68 times. Maybe that’s why it’s “meh” to me now. I think I had it on repeat for like a week.

And Annalise, I used to do the same thing when studying! I had a mix tape, though (Before itunes) and it had Jurassic Park, An American Tail, and Some other obscure movie soundtracks probably no one here’s heard of, much leaa paid attention to the music. I didn’t really like classical music, and silence was too loud.

  32. Anita 6 October 2008 at 12:14 am #

My iPod is nowhere to be found right now, but when it surfaces, some of Tye’s stuff is going to hit the top 25. I love it and can’t wait to workout to it! Thank you for introducing me to his music.

  33. Toby 6 October 2008 at 12:20 am #

Wow, I’m almost ashamed cuz there is some ABBA and AQUA in there, but my 3 year old really like the Barbie Girl song :-) .

    Brad Metzger,

You are totally entitled to your opinion but if Tye Tribbett & GA remind you of Randy Watson & Sexual Chocolate you should really broaden your scope bro.
