Your Church Size

Posted on 16. Oct, 2008 by loswhit in Religion

I’m wondering… because I tend to do that.

Not that this question has any implication as to worth, because it completely and absolutely does not…

What is the size of your church?

I’m guessing we have an average church size of 120 on here. That’s just my guess.

At least thats the size of our regular Ragamuffin Revival Prayer Meetings.

How many booties are living next to you during your week doing life together as a church?

We started the church in July.
Currently we are being called about 45 people’s home church.
God is continuing to teach us and show us His direction for our church.
Our first outreach, to let the community know that we’re there, was a couple weekends ago.
God has affirmed that this journey for Dialogue Church will be a long one.
    I’m excited.

I would say 150-200 between two experiences at the Lifechurch.tv/Phoenix campus. I wouldn’t even try and guess how many it would be if all 12 campuses were to be combined, and that isn’t even considering our Internet campus.

  42. Kristy 17 October 2008 at 3:36 am #

This is a lot of huge churches getting role called. I have to be honest and say it’s still hard for me to understand a mega church. Is it really possible to have an authentic church community/family with a stadium of 30,000 or even 3-4K? I’ve never been a part of a large church so I really don’t know. We’re around the corner for Los’ Buckhead Church and running about 250 in two services.

Numbers ain’t crap unless you are raising disciples.

I am not too crazy about the topics of sermons series for the last year but I have faith that my pastor will get back to expository, exegesis teaching of books of the Bible.

But, that is just the “champagne wishes and caviar dreams” of this one follower.

200ish Adults. Plus a bunch of children. We’re growing critical mass through reproduction. Ha ha. Kidding, kidding. But we have a gazillion kids under 4. Seriously.

As usual, I’m late to the game. I’ve been on a blogging hiatus for awhile, both reading and writing.

The local church we attend has about 6,000 attendees across 5 weekend services. But that is only one part of our church. The other, and I think just as important, part also happens each weekend but includes just 8 of us, 4 couples.

We worship and learn during the church “service”. We worship and grow through our chuch small group.

850 or so, matters when the ushers count, first ten minutes seems like there are 150 and then it’s full by offering- anyone else have this issue with people showing up late? That’s my next blog post by the way

Christ Fellowship in Palm Beach Gardens: 13 – 16,000.

    Don’t you love the variety? I’m tempted to say it…no, I won’t.

    There’s a church for everyone!

    22,000+ on 13 Campuses
2,400+ on the Tulsa Campus last weekend

Oh, I added up all the entries up till this post (that took awhile!)

What struck me was that all the people that left comments represent 486,930 attenders in local churches across the globe! That’s amazing Carlos! I love how there are so many people represented here!

The other thing that struck me was how many people don’t see a number as an individual with a life, that NEEDS Jesus. Numbers directly represent people. There’s a whole book in the Old Testament that emphasizes the importance of counting people! We know how many people got saved when Peter preached….that’s not shallow..that’s giving a testimony of what GOD has done!

Climbing down from soap box now.

I think our church is up to 1000 regular attendance now. I’m not high up in ministry — just a volunteer — but I am friendly with the higher ups. I’m pretty sure we’re growing by leaps and bounds.

LOL on the “chenis” post after this one. You are so fun!!

I’ll take a SWAG at ours… I heard there were 3200 people doing our 60-60 experiment, which represented 70% of our attendance, which puts us around 4500 adults in 5 services on 2 campuses — Gateway Church, Austin, Texas.

I’ve been there since it was ~35 people (just celebrated our 10 year anniversary). It’s weird to go from literally knowing everyone at your church to not even knowing the entire staff. Amazing to see what God has done, the stories He has told in people’s lives, over the last ten years, though. I’m looking forward to the next ten!
