Great job! I'll have to remember the “close the nose” trick!

    You inspire me!

I feel so bad for her but I had to laugh at how long you plugged her nose!

ahhh the good 'ol pacific cooler juice pack mixed with some of that yummy syrup. It's almost like you guys are getting your 'lean on' in preparation to go out clubbing.

I guess this just proves you can take the gangsta outta cali but you can't take the cali outta the gangsta.

j/k cute, and i've had that stuff before, it really is rancid tasting, regardless of what “flavor” they try to give you. Nice technique.

Ahh Empatigo… we always pronounced it as EmFatigo. We as wrestlers had to worry about it when wrestling a certain School in Indiana. The school was always known for giving it to other schools that wrestled them. Luckily all we needed was a cream to clear it up.

    Thats what she said… sorry I couldn't help it….

Mary Poppins said it, a spoonful of sugar….I guess sugar in any form will do the trick! Whatever works! Meds & kids don't usually fly but your little miss was a trooper. Way to go, you go girl!

My “guelita” used to give me a pice of gum right before I would let go of my nose. Did I used that trick with you Babe? Love, Mom

This is why I don't get sick-I hate taking medicine. From the nasty tasting syrups to the disgusting antibiotics that start melting the nanosecond you put them in your mouth. and also the general bad feeling of being sick. I refuse to let myself get sick.

And umm…is that teaching your daughter to chug?

Does the nose plug thing really work? I am gonna try that next time the kids get sick! I'm loving the candy trick too… mmm, I could go for some candy right now… might need to raid the last of the halloween candy.

I also want to know. We have tried everything (else) and there are just some medicines that wont go down.

Now that looked fun, but I tend to enjoy the “sitting on his chest and pouring it down his throat” method.
I'm kiddin people…don't be callin the DCFS!

sohalia, you're a TROOPER!!! way to go! dad, way to be an encourager! remaining calm at all times–and the bribe of candy–is the best way to get meds down a child.

one correction: i'm SURE it wasn't 6 OUNCES you had to give her. maybe it just seemed like that much!

THAT is perfect. I used to have to hold the 13 yr old down and someone else pour medicine in him…no amount of bargin would work.

Also, she is very lucky that there is a medicine she can take-when I was little and got impentigo (LIKE ALL THE TIME) mom had to scrub it until it bled and then put an ointment on it.

I don't care HOW bad it tastes, it is better than that.

When I see your videos on parenting, and how you interact with your chillins, I feel like we're kindred spirits or something.

    Nice background music btw.

My 4 year old needed was in need of some cough medicine that is pretty foul to injest. Remembered your method tonight and all is now well. Thanks for the knowledge. I look like superdad now.
