A TokBox Moment

TokBox Demo With My Tweets from Carlos Whittaker on Vimeo.

So there has been lots of buzz around the corner of the interweb I hang out in regarding TokBox.
This was a room I was in last night with 17 live video streams going on.
Mark, Brody, Michael, Joshua, and many more seeing each other and hearing each other for the first time.
I have to admit it has been strange these past few nights as bloggers have begun meeting each other beyond the text
You hear an echo because there were a few people without headphones.
I am thinking this tool works great with 12 people or less and the consistency is amazing.
You can add me as a friend on tokbox here.

How do you guys see this as a tool in your organization/familiy/network?

Let's all keep our shirts on next time.

It's a nightmare when folks don't use their headphones. And more than about 5 people makes for crazy interaction.

I could definitely see this being used in our organization, though. With Campus Crusade on the college campus, this could be a distance bible study method.

I'm living in Kathmandu, Nepal and my family and friends are back in Cincinnati, OH. This is a way I can catch up and see them live and in person. For those of us living over-seas, this is an incredible way to be strengthened and encouraged. For sure.

Hey..sorry… i got the tweet and wanted to check it out. Very cool possibilities. Things sort of got crazy and was no good for anyone. Didn't mean to spoil the fun.

My band is spread out a little bit and we video chat on iChat, but being able to have everyone in the same conversation would be even better. I can envision us meeting in this environment moving forward. I think it would be a cool way to do a long distance bible study with people i find it hard to connect with in my own community. (I have always wanted to find a worship leader small group that I can bounce ideas, share successes and failures, pray, study, etc. with but there are very limited number of worship leaders that have similar worship interests in my area.) I don't live in a major metro area or lead in a major mainstream church that provides an opportunity to connect with other worship leaders in a mentoring sort of relationship. So I do it the best way I know how by reading blogs like yours Los, Mark Lee's, DCB, and many others. It is all I got…not many others to learn from in Southern Ohio…just trying to grow and give God my best.

    Thanks for the ear.

This will be a great tool for our church staff to do meetings when some of us are out of town
