New Year’s Eve
As much as I bash Gatlinburg, this place is beautiful.
Today, Mark, Stephanie, Heather and I hiked the 4 mile trail Chimney Top Trail.
Beautiful.
Tonight we are hanging on the Third Day bus watching GA Tech get their tails handed to them.
Then we will bring in the New Year with 5000 screaming kids and some fireworks in the Great Smokey Mountains.
So how did you spend your last day of 2008?
Los

Spent it going to work, praying for a co-worker & friend, and now leaving to volunteer for a Flower Ministry @ Lake Avenue Church in Pasadena (help arrange leftover flowers from Rose Parade floats for needy elderly). Then countdown with my former pastor/accountability partner. =) God is SO GOOD!!
Spent it slinging out espresso and downing a good 6 shots of the black gold liquid myself. Needless to say, I crashed once it wore off.
taking a shower. a long shower.
yes,please bathe more John…you reek!
Watching movies, lunch with a great friend, shopping, cleaning and now snacking while watching the Twilight Zone marathon on SciFi. (Like I've said, I'm such a girl geek. At some point I shall blog about that.)
worked and now i'm watching Shrek 2. i really know how to live it up.
with some family & friends….

Not on top of a mountain. Although at 3500 feet in Amarillo, Tx, I'm pretty high. Found you thru Brody Harper. Have enjoyed reading your blog.
Spent preparing my castle for the new queen in T-36 days!
Worked the day shift, was productive, got a haircut, and spent a bunch of time reading Twitter messages from a couple dudes from Atlanta who are in Gatlinburg. One of them likes driving back and forth a lot! Beyond that, I am watching the sequel to the '05 Chick-fil-a Peach Bowl LSU 40, Miami 3. The highlight of my day? a direct Twitter from @markhallCC. Highlight of my year? I now know who my daughter will be! (http://www.thechristopherfamily.blogspot.com)
Mixing monitors for a former american idol contestant. . . . . . .now it's off to work at the apple store.
Went to see "Valkyrie" great movie. For a change we are home. Your Dad and I send our Love to you and Heather and of course those "chilindrinos". Happy New Year, Babe!!!
oh, carlos, your mom is on here! That's awesome! HEY! i want a ragamuffin t-shirt!
Worked about six hours; went home, picked up our daughter, ate at Wendy's, hung out with the nuclear family and some online buddies, consumed some adult beverages, made a huge mess with a blender I'm still cleaning up today and generally had a good time. I enter 2009 with what feels like a slight film over my mind, but I am otherwise good to go and pumped about a new year and a fresh start.
what type of post production do you do with your photos bro? Lightroom? Photoshop?
Hey CJ. I use Aperture for my RAW white balance and exposure issues. Then CS4 for post lovin.
ahh, you're a RAW kind-of-guy. Nice! Is cool to see your photos improve over time.
Happy New Year
Watched Elf… watched Disney and Ryan Seacrest New Years’s Eve specials… ate WAY too much. Spent time chillin with the family.
Changed a few flu-induced dirty diapers, watched the end of Blood Diamond while my boy slept, talked with my wife on the phone a few times, and worked until 1130 pm. Awesome…
buried my wife's mother.
Wow rodge. Just rayed for your wife and your family.
can't believe people on other side of the world are praying for my family. very humbling. thank you.
oof, will pray, please let us know an update?so's we can pray continually?
Wow Rodge. My condolences.
Sorry to read this, rodge. Loss is tough anytime of the year but magnified in these days. May the Lord provide his peace and comfort to you and your family, particularly your wife.
Get ready to be sore tomorrow. That hike is no joke. What a beautiful Tennessee winter day for hiking! Hope you all enjoyed.
I have also climbed that same trail….it was beautiful up there. Did you climb the big stone rock so you could sit and look in all directions? Happy New Year and may this year be good to you and your family.
spent the night in a hospital waiting on a couple in my small group to have a baby. He was born at 4:14am on 1.1.09
i give you props sully!
Celebrated my 14th wedding anniversary with my beloved and then brought in the new year with a house full of of my nearest and dearest friends and family!
Went on a date with my wife-lunch and a movie, "Marley and Me" this is going to inspire some blogging…i've got some stupid-dog stories!
Happy New Year Ragamuffin Soul peeps.
And to you thirty3.
Spent the afternoon snowmobiling with my brother and the evening/night hanging out with my wife and parents!
Killer Jacket bro, I only live 30 minutes away and never get tired of the great smokey mountains. They are breathtaking! Glad you got to enjoy them.
Dude…..beautiful picture of the hills and sky! Have a good weekend!
Both kids were sick on new years eve so we put them to bed and had a wonderful evening at home. Here's to no sickness and getting out next year!
Beautiful pictures, that camera is amazing I need to learn some skills and get some gear like that!
Stayed home with a sick wifey ):
We were somewhere over Canada, eating chicken.
Replacing an unneeded mixer with a DriverRack260 to drive our wedges, eating dinner, then being in bed by 10 PM. Boring . . . well except for the DriveRack part.
Family is in Dallas for the Cotton Bowl. Hanging out eating the best food and gaining weight by the second, laughing hard, and wishing we lived in a city, kids loving hotel life!
nothing really grand. i started the day with a crying binge (hard meeting the night before), then on my way out I closed the door and locked my jacket strap in the door and I didn't have a house key. After I yanked my jacket out of the house door I went to get a house key, went in and worked for a bit and then I came home, rested from all that, made cookies, hung out with friends for an hour or so and went to bed at 11:00. It was pitiful and dissapointing but I'm saving up for my birthday on Sat.!
I stayed up til about 11:30. we were gonna watch the ball drop, but we didn't feel like watching katy pery and ludacris for two hours.
Spent it with friends playing Wii Rock Band!
Sounds like you're well on your way to becoming a true Southerner. I live in Nashvegas and everyone bashes Gatlinburg, but they also secretly love the goofy weekends you can spend there. It is beautiful once you get out of the foothills, it's just not a weekend getaway anyone admits to taking! If you are really looking for a nature getaway, take a look at Center Hill Lake, near Cookeville, TN. It's beautiful!!!!! The water is so clear that you can still see your feet when you are in the water sipping on an ice cold "root beer".
