  2. Crystal 2 December 2008 at 1:12 pm #

Normally we would both put ours up the day after thanksgiving but this year we were excited to put a joint one up as husband and wife and did it the night we got back from our honeymoon which was the 22nd.

It is August burns Red a Christian Hardcore band… off of the new X Christmas CD…. oh man he cut out the breakdown.

  6. Billy McGuiness 2 December 2008 at 2:07 pm #

Great vid! I see you're still having fun with your sweet camera!

  8. Ron Tuffin 2 December 2008 at 2:28 pm #

All I could think about was how awsome that song would be to play on Guitar Hero

  9. Ron Tuffin 2 December 2008 at 2:30 pm #

Ok it was not all I could think about.
I also wish it could only take 1:56 to set up a christmas tree :)

Perfect! Exactly what the last week or so has felt like… a blur! The “banging head” watching this video was slightly better than the “banging head” from the past week though.

Our tree went up last night and the family collectively crashed in the living room lit only by the multi-colored bulbs and disturbed only by the winter wind whistling outside.

Los, you really have an awesome way of making the most mundane things seem cool. Thanks for the rad video of the rad family. :)

I'm pretty sure Heather employed the patented Martha Stewart style of hanging Christmas lights on the tree…awesome! (Where you don't “wrap” the tree, you only light the front…so much easier to do and clean up later.)

I'm pretty sure I should be embarrassed for knowing that.

  15. loswhit 2 December 2008 at 4:15 pm #

    Aewsome.

That song was so good, I am listening to it again. For the third time. I may be downloading my first Christian Hardcore music this afternoon.

  17. Jake 2 December 2008 at 5:07 pm #

That rocked. Watching the TV was crazy.

Ours went up Sunday. We skipped church because the jelly bean princess had a stomach bug. It was so much fun this year. As the divorced mom of two angel babies, I've gotten all the work the last few years, but this year Jake, my 8 1/2 year old, was a HUGE help. We had a blast!

  19. loswhit 2 December 2008 at 5:46 pm #

Anyone wanna guess what I was watching?

  20. aubreysanchez 2 December 2008 at 5:50 pm #

That is a bright tree! U might keep the neighbors up at night.

  21. Patrick Hardy 2 December 2008 at 5:56 pm #

Is that Season 1 of Hero's you are watching.?

  22. Stephen Lowe 2 December 2008 at 7:11 pm #

Awesome video, this a tedious process that videoing might make more fun for me, may be posting mine this weekend.
And, August Burns Red is one of the best metal bands out right now, period, Christian or secular. I did a post about them last week here http://www.slowethinking.com/2008/11/metal.html Love that LosWhit is helping intro the masses to Christian Metal!

We get our tree around the 10th of the month; otherwise it dries out too much. The place we buy from gets fresh trees all month.

Your video makes me want to go buy it tonight, but we'll wait until Son the Older is back from college. =)

You are watching one of the two greatest Christmas specials of all time (the other being my personal favorite – A Charlie Brown Christmas) “How The Grinch Stole Christmas”! LOVE IT!

  25. jess 2 December 2008 at 9:02 pm #

i think i just watched an entire episode of heroes in about 10 seconds on your tv there.
which is good, cause i missed last night's episode.
interesting to think that you cleaned the whole house for a tree.

theological implications: preparing for the Christ child? what if we prepared for jesus that much?
    just some thoughts.
    blessings mate.

  26. adam_herod 2 December 2008 at 9:11 pm #

Looked like Heroes there on the end. Our tree went up Sunday night. Wife made me turn the TV off and throw the Christmas playlist on random. Everything from Garth Brooks to Ray Charles to Twisted Sister. Good times.

  27. Brice Bohrer 2 December 2008 at 9:11 pm #

That looked like a real tree you all were dragging.

Please tell me it was and that you haven't given into the dark side and gone fake.

I had no idea that Craig and Brittany were born on the same day, sadly though she has nothing on him when it comes to making “smart moves” :)
