When you were wearing Underoos
And I don’t want to know if you still wear them…
What did you want to be when you grew up?

turns out I can't sing. and science wasn't my strong suit.

Oh well…getting to work with the best staff ever coordinating the best First Impressions volunteers ever is pretty good.

An astrophysicist. No joke. Because Sally Ride was an astrophysicist, and she got to be the first American woman in space.

We've been geeks around here for a very, very long time.

I wanted to be a lawyer…and made my babysitters play court complete with exhibits (photos of my dog were often used in my pretend dogbite cases). Not sure where that came from since there are no attorneys in my family.

I remember specifically wanting to be Eponine in Les Miserables. My mom checked out the record, yes…actual vinyl from the library and I listened to it over and over and over again.

I also wanted to be a writer and a singer. Which worked out. 'Cause that's what I do. I'm grateful.

I liked She-Ra Princess of Power. And when Belle came along–forget it! she could sing, read, speak well and she was hott?! But I knew that I liked caring for people and I guess that might be why I didn't ascribe to a specific occupational endeavor at a young age since “caring for people” isn't specific to just an industry.

Ahhhh! This brings back memories… Shawn Foster, my first “boyfriend” (we were about 8 I think) gave me Wonder Woman Underoos for my b-day.

I wanted to be a veterinarian when I was that age…but ended up being and arts director at a church. (they are strangely similar professions)
