Best video you have seen all day

Posted on 24. Jan, 2009 by loswhit in Authenticity, Worship Leading

He is OUR father.
Not the sketch in the paper or a part of a skit on tv.
Many people will think that they know him.
But they will have no idea how he felt the day you were born.
The pride he felt on your first day of school.
Or how much you both love being his daughters.
Remember who your dad really is.

Now that my friends…is some good stuff.
Los

HT:my aussie friend David from around midnight last night.

Wow that is great. I guess for us Dads, we need to remember who we are too.

      i heard that.

Very, very good. One thing I am amazed by is the grace and thoughtfulness extended my the Bush family towards the Obamas. GWB made the transition smooth, and the family has been nothing but graceful towards the Obamas. Too bad it doesn't go both ways.

      Seriously?
      You're nuts.

But that's not the point of the post.
It's for us to try and raise great kids

Yeah, I probably am nuts. :)

I apologize for going off track… it was a very inspiring video. Made me think about what does my son see when he sees me.

I'm becoming a sentimental fool in my old age! Loved the letter when I read it, now tearing up to the video!

If you are talking about Clinton to Bush, then I agree. But the Obama's have been just as nice to the Bush family. It has been really great to see two administrations actually have a smooth transition.

While we are on the subject I have to admit that I think both parties are full of criminals and that is why I did not vote for either candidate this year. But from what I see from Barack and also Michelle I am really coming around. I still do not agree with every decision he has and will make, but he seems to be able to realize that he represents all Americans and not just democrats.

Beautiful. We can only hope as parents that our kids have kind words for us after we've done our best.

  15. Leah 24 January 2009 at 11:11 pm #

I loved that. Just by those two making that video… with the words they used… shows how great of a dad he really is, it speaks a lot.

It really does speak as much about the parents as it does about the daughters themselves.

what a great video, really nice to see two express their love for their father, both families have a lot to be proud of, but they were right, remember who your dad really is, and reminds us of how much more does our Father love us.

Wow. Thank you so much for sharing that. It definitely paints a different picture of Bush than what we're used to seeing in the media. What a great video, and great advice from the girls!

Heartwarming & thoughtful for Jenna and Barbara to pass on such a letter to Sasha & Malia. The words written at the end can & should be remembered by all daughters/sons about their dads. Coming from someone who doesn't & never had a relationship w/ her own dad, this means more to me to see that there are dads out there that have gotten it right when it comes to their kids. To all you daddys out there….hug your kids extra tight and continue to show your love, especially on those days that loving someone seems difficult.

OT: I believe both have been great to each other during the transition.
While I did not vote for Obama, I support him and look forward to the next four years.

Anyhow, that video was very cool.
I'm sure the Obama children will hear that again some day when they're older and have a better understanding of what the Bush girls meant.
    Very cool..

I absolutely can't wait to be a father.

  29. Kim 26 January 2009 at 6:39 pm #

Of the many things spoken of the Bushes, one inarguable trait is their graciousness. We should all take a moment and pray for the Obamas- that God will protect their marriage and family through these next four years. AND, even pray for/be thankful for our own dads today. It's a good reminder that dads are not defined by their jobs, but by the kind of father they are to their kids. Beautiful video….
