[...] Something else has really challenged me lately and I’m putting it into practice NOW! Francis Chan began a message by asking these questions: “What would our church look like if there was no gossip? How would it feel to know that no one was speaking negatively of you behind your back?” And then to go along with that Carlos Whittaker posted a super challenging blog on his website that ended with this: “Let’s not drop one name, unless it’s His.” Here is that entire blog.
That's about settles it right there. Couldn't have said it better.

We try so hard to be relevant and hip and cool and there's so much push to fit in and be known.

We've lost our focus...

It was never about the creative and engaging environments.

It was never about the neat Christian conferences and the next hottest Christian blogger.

It was never about trying to be the next Andy Stanley or Rick Warren.

It was never about the next hot book or trend.

....

It was about the Word wrapping Himself in flesh, descending down to the earth, and dwelling among us.

It was about a Father so in love with a fallen and corrupt world that He made the death of His Son on a cross His goal - to make us right with Him again.

It was about the Samaritan woman at the well who experienced a man who embraced her not by her race but by His grace.

It was about a Jewish tax collector who was invited to follow a man as He changed the course of history in truth and love.

It's about us waking up every morning being wrapped in the arms of our heavenly Father, with an all-consuming desire for us to show the world this love.

It's about Him!

Oh, How He Loves Us!!!

May you and I never forget.

Yeah man, the truth is a tough pill to swallow! But, it is so necessary if we are going to grow and stay on track w/ what God has called us to do! This post definitely kicked my pride in the teeth! :)

We are not all that, but we strive to be - why is that? It means we get in the way of God. I know that do that and need to remember to be His servant.

small churches have people with large hearts.it's not about the #'s or whether you are a lay leader, etc.If we go back to Acts there was nothing but faith and aggressive witness. We need to streamline and downsize and go back to God.

It's not about religion. It must be a relationship first. My dad always tells me that we are too busy polishing our stained-glass window.
