About two years ago I had the most surreal tape moment ever. I was doing grad school research in a little village 6+ hours of four-wheel driving, past the end of the paved road in North Eastern Sierra Leone. The sun was going down and the only lights remaining were from the cooking fires across the village. When all of a sudden our driver popped his "Shakira" tape into the pickup's stereo and this group of kids started to swing their hips. And did they ever have skills!! I'm not sure what surprised me more, hearing Shakira after listening to Celine Dione for ALL of the 6+ hours out there:), or watching music so swiftly supersede culture and traditions.

Dude, embarrassingly enough, my 10th grade girlfriend gave me the Ace Of Bass "I Saw The Sign" tape. Maybe she was trying to tell me something haha.

Used to own? I still have a stack of them that I listen to in my car! James Taylor's Greatest Hits is my all time favorite album/tape/cd. I've thought about buying it in cd format, but I just can't bring myself to do it. Somehow, it would ruin the listening experience.

The last one I bought was definitely a Hillsong one but I don't remember the name of it. I bought it with a CD. Crazy right? Sometime in the 90s. My mom still has it.

ha! That was my last tape. Oh man did that teach to me to emote in middle school....as if middle schoolers need to learn to emote more! Her acoustic album - now found on CD or other digital mediums - of Jagged Little Pill is amazing.

I found "Boston" (debut album) at the Roswell Good Will store last year. It was still playable. People in Roswell give away GOOD Stuff. I got a great leather Targus laptop bag (one zipper slightly mis-functioning) for $10.
