Today
It’s 11:30 pm. I’m sitting at the bar at the wxyz bar in the lobby of the a Loft hotel in Franklin, TN. I can’t sleep. It’s one of the rare moments where I’m looking at everyone around me thinking they have it better than I.
They look so happy. Secure. Healthy. Rich.
Then I remember that everyone of them could walk out of the lobby door and get smashed by some random dude in a truck.
Tomorrow is not promised to any of us.
Today I woke up in bed with my wife and 2 girls.
Legs tangled and slobber dripping.
Went to the pool and watched my girls swim and show me how completely unimpressive their skills are.
I sat in a room with unbelievable musicians and wrote 3 great songs.
I laughed, ate, and spent the evening dreaming with great friends.
I kissed a son goodnight who showed up on this planet half a world away with every intention on finding me.
What a freaking amazing day.
Live in today, because tomorrow is always a day away.
Los

Love this Los. Great encouragement.
Dude. I just posted about that yesterday. Crazy!
to quote the musical that spoke for our whole generation – RENT, "There's no day but today!" and your life is freaking rad. i hope you don't need us to remind you of that.
Good words man!! The funny thing is many of those people around you are just trying to find community…they just want to belong and have a family. That is what you have and woke up to.
Excited about your project with Integrity!
considering im going to a memorial service tomorrow, this sits really well in my thinking right now.
Maybe they were looking at you thinking the same thing.
Dude… today was the worst, and best day of my life… so I understand… choose to live blessed!!! You are SOOO blessed! And God is just about to show off through you! I can't wait to see!
just blew my mind… thanks
Word. Good post.
I think we need to have a chat about your hat.
hahahahahahahha
Awesome reminder, Los. Thanks!
Just serves as a reminder that we are all insecure. We all think someone's got it better – until we really take a look at how God has blessed us. Most people are better actors than we realize or give credit. For that matter, so am I.
Nice Post – Psalms 73 restated
Can’t wait to hear some of those songs, man!
I completely understand where you were during this posting! I too feel adrift but am reminded of all my blessings everytime I am at work (I work as an RN in ICU). There are too many people dying….young people who are wiped out in their prime…for foolish stuff that they thought was cool, or important, or they thought they had no hope….I go home and wake up my family and tell them how much I love them and thank Jesus for another day with them….
Know the feeling all too well. Thanks for the reminder to count our blessings
This is exactly what the Lord has been showing me lately – to enjoy this day, live this day and cherish this day. Thanks for helping to reinforce His thought to me.
Great post Los. Exactly what I needed to hear this morning.
Thanks for the reminder to keep things in check. It’s so easy to pity ourselves and not count our blessings.
Your eyes look bloodshot, Los. Hope you got some rest. God has blessed you so much! Can’t wait to hear some tunes, right here. Soon.
I thought I was the only one had issues with the Other Side of the Fence syndrome. Thanks for reminding me I just need to take an inventory of my life to know that's not true.
let this be your daily reminder of focus and importance in life.
Yeah bro Life is good, its important to keep good perspective!
Thanks for this. It's always nice to remember what's really important.
You are right.
Tomorrow is a day away so we need to live today!
deep thoughts by jack handey
wow, I needed this so badly. Yesterday was a rough day for me. My girlfriend of 3 years broke up with me at the end of March. And yesterday I found out that she has started dating another guy. For a while I felt like she may have feelings for this guy and I felt like that's why she broke up with me. I pray that she's happy and that life brings her nothing but good things.
Thanks for all that you do Los. Your words are an inspiration and I wish that I could have met you when I lived in the ATL last year.
You said that people look happy, but where people who are truly happy find it?
__Not in unbelief
__Not in pleasure
__Not in money
__Not in position and fame
__Not in military glory
But you my friend, have found it.__Read this post, "Are You Happy" at the Red Letter Believers blog____

Los, I read your blog everyday. Let me be the first to say there are people out there that would love to be in your shoes. We all have our days when we love where were at and then those days where we wished were somebody else. Be blessed my friend.
