Let's call that what it is … ig – nant!

I hid you on FB a looooong time ago. Just don't need to double up on the feeds, if you know what I'm saying!

    • loswhit 28 July 2009 at 8:09 pm #

      HAHAHAHA

    • Deb 29 July 2009 at 4:13 am #

I think you lacked grace in your ig-nant comment.

      • Dlake108 29 July 2009 at 4:27 am #

My apologies Deb. I didn't mean to come across as one lacking grace. God knows I need my share … daily.

I expressed ignorance as "ig-nant" – just being silly. Ignorance is lacking knowledge or awareness, which in this case was lack of awareness of the HIDE function on FB.

        Sorry …

Same complaint so I haven't blended them. Watch my updating quantities to FB cause I've heard serious doggin' on Hyper-Updaters. Usually just roll my eyes & check out when conversation starts with "I definitely don't use that Twitter thing."

  5. Lindsey_Nobles 28 July 2009 at 7:26 pm #

I struggle with this. I have disconnected my FB and Twitter but then I NEVER update FB. So I reconnected it and I am sure I get on my "friends" nerves.

But does anyone that doesn't Twitter still update their FB? My theory is that without the Twitter folks there would be little point in checking FB.

    • loswhit 28 July 2009 at 8:05 pm #

      Yup.
I only go on facebook once a day to converse with comments people have left on my twitter feed on facebook.
Sometimes there will be an entire conversation off one tweet that I did not even know was going on. Crazy.

  6. Keith Barger 28 July 2009 at 7:28 pm #

Absolutely. People should know how to use the tools they choose.
    If you FB, know FB.
    If you Tweet, know Twitter.

And… you warned everybody anyway. It was Bachelorette night.

  7. Christopher 28 July 2009 at 7:29 pm #

    I love the line…

I do it to you all the time.

I myself totally have Los on hide because he can be a bit of a chatty cathy.

  8. Brad Ruggles 28 July 2009 at 7:29 pm #

Ha ha, nice. I need to write a post like this for all my Twitter-hating Facebook friends.

So many social networks…so many people to keep happy. *sigh*

  9. patricia 28 July 2009 at 7:31 pm #

what about using a selective twitter status? =]

    • @JRallis 28 July 2009 at 7:35 pm #

I use and like the selective twitter. Works out nice.

But none the less, this is funny.

    • loswhit 28 July 2009 at 8:07 pm #

Nah. I dont like selective twitter status because lots of my friends on FB tell me they want it all. And if it's good enough to say on twitter, its good enough to say on facebook.

  10. Lori Jo 28 July 2009 at 7:32 pm #

haha, the hide option is better than deleting as a friend…
i turned off my twitter to fb feed so i wouldn't be obnoxious…i do want to hear from them! i had my reasons. a few people mentioned it…so i changed. it's still up for debate…

    • loswhit 28 July 2009 at 8:07 pm #

Nah. I tell them all to hide me.
My family is on FB. Not twitter. They love my feed.

  11. darrenherbold 28 July 2009 at 7:35 pm #

Selective Twitter helps a ton. Just add #fb to the end of your tweet and it goes to fb. If not, it doesn't.

Great post though! Especially your reply

    • loswhit 28 July 2009 at 8:08 pm #

Yea but I don;t want to send some to FB and some to twitter. If it's good enough for twitter, its good enough for facebook. One more decision I don't want to have to make 20 times a day. ;) For me at least.

  12. Daryl G 28 July 2009 at 11:42 am #

Nice. I use the #fb to keep the really geeky updates on twitter alone. I had people telling me most of my updates were like Greek to them

  13. loswhit 28 July 2009 at 8:04 pm #

Yea. My priority is to litter the world with me. ;)
    JK.
But I do have many FB friends who are not on twitter and WANT to read on FB.
    Go figure.

  14. loswhit 28 July 2009 at 8:06 pm #

I know. Makes you stay on my page longer. ;)

  15. Santos Samayoa 28 July 2009 at 9:02 pm #

Haha, that has happened to me too, except some of my friends told me face to face. They dubbed me "Mr. Facebook" which is contrary, i dont FB i just twitter. So yeah alot of my friends arent my FB friends, i feel your pain, but thanks for the tip, will tell them.

  16. Jim 28 July 2009 at 9:15 pm #

wow…i'd be happy to offer some free online training for those who can't handle it…what a bunch of crap…know how to use your tools…

  17. bigdaddyjer 28 July 2009 at 10:00 pm #

haha dude – those tweets do get a bit overwhelming (and cryptic) sometimes so i skim 'em.

  18. dannyjbixby 28 July 2009 at 10:02 pm #

My comment for this is too long, I blogged it instead: http://dannyjbixby.blogspot.com/2009/07/twitterfe...

Seriously, not a shameless attempt for traffic NOR is this spam. Only click if you want to.

  19. Sterling Wood 28 July 2009 at 10:40 pm #

Poor Los! I still loves ya!! From WAY back to when you were still Carlos. The best "dragon" there ever was!!

  20. Donnagray 29 July 2009 at 12:53 am #

And the problem is…………….the users. Hide the man. He is way to passionate a tweeter for the FB world.

  21. zach pippin 28 July 2009 at 5:37 pm #

I have mine linked, but I’m pretty good at cleaning up my updates on fb. I’m considering unlinking them. not sure.

  22. free twitter backgrounds 28 July 2009 at 10:55 pm #

That happened to me a couple days ago. A friend had been RT-ing and when I logged into Facebook my complete screen was him. Kind of annoying if you ask me but what can you do. Just hope to not bump into that a lot.

  23. James 29 July 2009 at 9:35 am #

    haha!

  24. gradybauer 29 July 2009 at 9:53 am #

my twitter updates are no where as annoying as the countless stupid quizzes they take. I "hide" people all of the time.

  25. Zack 29 July 2009 at 1:12 pm #

Dude! 3 Words: Selective Twitter Status

It'll only forward your tweets w/ the hashtag "#fb" to facebook.

    Got get it!

  26. JakeSchwein 29 July 2009 at 3:46 pm #

I think more people need to use Twitter!! Facebook is so 2008! HaHa

  27. Sean Pritzkau 29 July 2009 at 9:08 pm #

thank you THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Lots of people used to complain to me about it. I noticed people deleted me too. I switched over to the #fb thing and was doing that, now I just rarely update facebook.

  28. Peter Carino 1 August 2009 at 3:28 am #

People do know that they can remove you from the feeds right?

  29. Brody 1 August 2009 at 1:53 pm #

    You have bad handwriting.

  30. Brody 1 August 2009 at 1:54 pm #

Or maybe it's "arty" not bad. I don't know.

  31. philldo 3 August 2009 at 9:50 pm #

Most of my friends (& wife's) comments about my Tweet -> Facebook madness has to do with my tweets being written in a foreign language for geeks.

The funny thing is that I thought I was filtering all of the "geekness" out by using the selective twitter app. Guess I'm geek to the core. BTW If anybody knows of a better app that doesn't require me to tweet #fb, let me know. Or better yet – an iPhone app that lets you tweet to multiple accounts across Twitter & Facebook like EventBox or Seesmic that would be awesome.
